Comforting Fox

Summary:

To put it simply, there's not enough Glamrock Foxy fanfics out there that have a [y/n] character in it, so I took it upon myself to make one where the (young child female) reader is having trouble sleeping so she goes to a certain pirate who takes care of that.

Notes:

The Glamrock Foxy design in this story (at least for me) is the one by Jaze Cinema. They made a really cool animation of how he looks, and if you haven't already seen it, I recommend you do! :D

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

You couldn't seem to fall asleep, just laying there staring up at the star covered ceiling in the Daycare, waiting for sleep to whisk you away, but it didn't happen no matter how long you waited.

An idea popped into your head and you sat up, looking around for Moon, who was probably patrolling the area.

You spotted the Daycare attendant across the room cleaning up a mess that had been made earlier that day.

Your mind went back and forth as you thought over your idea. You bite your lip and grabbed your Foxy plushie, deciding to go for it, carefully getting out of your sleeping bag and silently weaving your way through the rest of the kids sleeping around you.

You somehow managed to slip past Moondrop, as he was just too distracted to pay attention and turned away from you.

You carefully open the big wooden doors at the entrance of the play area and slip out, being sure to close the doors behind you before you dart off towards the Fazbear Theater nearby.

You didn't really know if Foxy would be there, but the idea of cuddling with him and having him tell you a story was too much not to try since he was your favorite.

You slow down once you reach the outside of Fazbear Theater, taking a deep breath before walking in to search for the pirate.

Much to your luck, as you walk further into the dimly lit theater, you catch sight of someone walking down the rows of seats.

And sure enough, as the figure passed through a beam of light that came from overhead, you see the fox you were looking for.

You smile slightly and look down at the Foxy plushie in your hands, before looking back up and walking over to where Foxy was.

He appeared to be doing something as you came over to him, humming a little 'diddleedum' tune as he did it.

"Foxy?" You say in a small voice as you finally start to feel sleep catch up to you, likely from your sprint from the Daycare to the theater.

"Hm?" He hummed, finishing what he was doing and turning to you. "[Y/n]? What're ye doing awake?" He asked quietly.

"I can't sleep..." You rub your eye while you held your Foxy plushie close.

He smiled and shook his head gently. "Come on, wee one, let's get ye back t' bed." He walked to you and scooped you up into his arms, starting the walk back to the Daycare.

You rested your head against his shoulder, nuzzling into the crook of his neck and closing your eyes.

"What made it so ye couldn't sleep, Lass?" He asked in a hushed tone, knowing you're probably falling back to sleep.

"I couldn't sleep and was looking for you..." You mumble, slightly embarrassed about your need for cuddles.

He huffed gently. "Ye were lookin' fer me? How come?"

"I... wanted to see where you were an- and to ask if you could tell me a story before I went to sleep, and also see if maybe I could stay with you for a bit?" You explain in a small, shy voice.

"So ye wanted t' snuggle with me?" He asked softly and stopped walking towards the Daycare.

You nod in defeat, fiddling with the ear of your plushie, not making eye contact with the fox.

You hear him huff and feel him start walking in the direction of the Daycare again.

'Now you've done it. Now he'll take me back to the Daycare and probably tell Sun or Moon to keep me away from him.' You thought to yourself.

You knew he was going in the general direction of the Daycare, but what you didn't expect is for Foxy to turn at the last second and take you away from the Daycare.

You didn't dare question where you were going, as you just kept quiet and watched where he went.

To your surprise, he took you to your favorite spot in the whole Pizzaplex... Pirate's Cove...

Well, specifically the lighthouse was your favorite place to be and very much to your surprise, that was where Foxy took you.

He slipped inside the little room at the bottom of the lighthouse, closing the door and placing you down gently.

You look around to see that there was pillows, blankets, plushies, and a lamp in the little space that was definitely not there before.

"Aye come in 'ere and set all this up just in case a wee one wants t' come visit me at night... I've never used it 'til now, because ye be the first one t' come see me." Foxy explained quietly, sitting down crisscrossed applesauce.

A small smile forms on your face as you look away from the items in the room and up at him in awe. "Really?"

"Aye, [y/n]... not many mateys like me enough t' stick around, but ye... ye be different fer some reason." Foxy smiled softly.

Your smile becomes wider and you crawl over to the fox, over his legs and into his lap, wrapping your arms and legs around him as far as they could go for your little body.

His eyes widened and he stared at you in shock for a moment, before smiling a toothy grin and wrapping his arms around your frame, carefully running his hook up and down your back. "Aw, shucks, Lass... ye be gettin' me all soft on ya." He chuckled softly.

You giggle at his words. "I don't mind you getting soft on me, Foxy. You're my favorite, and I love you!"

You hear a strange noise come out of his voice box. One that sounded somewhere between a sad whine, and one of a 'oh my gosh I'm melting from cuteness' type whine.

You feel his hook stop stroking your back, and look up to see his face.

Sure enough, he was staring off into the distance, his ears down and his pupils as big as a puppy's.

You giggle again at his expression, causing him to snap out of whatever trance he was in and look down at you with a smile that could rival the sun with how bright it was.

Suddenly, he pulled you upwards in his arms, holding you a little above his head and tossing you up into the air, catching you with ease when you came back down.

You laughed at the playful action, causing the fox to laugh with you.

"Uncle Foxy!" You squeal as he threw you up in the air again.

He froze, catching you once more before bringing you back down with a distant look.

Your eyes widen and you immediately regret calling him that. "I- I'm sorry, Foxy. I- I didn't mean to call you that, I-"

He shook his head to get out of his thoughts and grinned at you. "Arr, it be okay, Lass. Ye may call me that if ya want."

"R- really? You don't mind it?" You tilt your head, fiddling with the sleeve of your pajama shirt.

"It would be an honor, Lassie." He bowed his head.

You smile widely and lean in to hug him again. "Thanks... Uncle Foxy."

He huffed a small laugh and wrapped his arms around you, holding you close as you snuggled against him. "No problem, Seastar."

"So... can you tell me a story?" You ask shyly.

Foxy let out a hearty chuckle. "Of course, Lass."

For a while after that he told you stories about his adventures with his friends and crew, the Glamrock gang, using the plushies of him and his friends as props.

You listened with a smile on your face that never wavered as you sat in his lap, giggling at how he moved the plushies around, sometimes acting like they would boop your nose or nuzzle gently against your face.

You yawned and felt your eyes getting heavy as you watched the plushies dance around in the story.

At some point you finally fell asleep, using the animatronic's leg as a pillow with your Foxy plushie held close to your chest and a blanket carefully draped over you.

Foxy smiled warmly at your sleeping form, gently brushing a hair that fell in front of your face out of the way and speaking in a hushed tone. "Goodnight, little lass... may ye 'ave sweet dreams of grand adventures."

And that was where you stayed for the rest of the night. Cuddled close to your favorite pirate in peaceful slumber, dreaming of being on a pirate ship with the fox himself having a great adventure.

The end.

Notes:

Foxy is definitely a comfort character of mine, and I just feel like he's not been getting enough attention lately what with Bonnie currently being the star since he was a fan favorite and he wasn't in the Security Breach (well... neither was Foxy but y'know)

I am here to change that.

*Don't get me wrong, I love Bonnie and he's one of my favorites too along side some of the others :)*
