Shen Qingqiu entered the supposedly haunted forest. Reports of a creature crying for the last two days have made the villagers not want to go near the woods. They contacted Cang Qiong and the Qing Jing peak lord volunteered to go. Alone.
Now, Shen Qingqiu waited in the forest setting up traps hoping for the spirit to fall into one.
He waited for about two hours until a high pitched cry reached his ears. It was followed by more crying.
Following the sound Shen Qingqiu placed a hand on his sword hilt preparing to slice whatever he caught. As he walked closer the cries sounded more like a toddler's.
He finally came to where the trap was and paused.
Shen Qingqiu didn't know what he was looking at. The top half the creature looked like a human toddler with curly hair while under the abdomen was a lamb body. White and pure.
The creature seemed to have sense him because it stopped crying and looked at the cultivator with fear. The face a human child but the ears of a sheep.
It began shaking.
Shen Qingqiu honestly didn't know what he was looking at. He sense no demonic aura coming from the creature but it didn't mean there was no danger.
'It's young,' he thought,' I'll do it quickly.'
Before he could even take Xiu Ya out of the hilt something else made a noise.
Shen Qingqiu reacted just in time when a tiger jumped out of the bushes aiming for the Lamb child. Xiu Ya pieced through the predator quickly and the tiger slumped on the ground.
The lamb child looked at him with awe. Great. Now he can't kill the creature without feeling guilty.
Maybe, he didn't have to kill it.
"Well, this is about the stupidest thing I've done so far."
Shen Qingqiu picked up the lamb creature and took it with him.
