Work Text:
Shen Qingqiu is slicing an apple. Why? Because he doesn't feel comfortable giving the creature he brought back from the forest any sort of farm food.
He had forbidden anyone from entering his home ever since bringing the little boy back. Yes, he checked.
Going inside he saw the little lamb creature skipping towards him happily.
"A-Yuan, be careful or you'll fall," he said.
A-Yuan slowed down and walked to him holding both hands out. Shen Qingqiu handed the boy a plate of sliced apples.
He's been here for two weeks and only speaks a few words. Research showed most kids are shy around that age. He had named the child "A-Yuan" so he wouldn't keep calling it "the thing".
Shen Qingqiu had dug himself into finding out just what kind of creature A-Yuan truly was. He had done test to see if the boy was a demon they came out negative. If he wasn't a demon what was he? A forest spirit?
A-Yuan is currently playing with the few wooden toys he bought for the boy's entertainment.
Meanwhile, the Qing Jing peak lord is looking through the last set of magical beast books he found in the library.
"Boom! Boom! Go! Go!"
Shen Qingqiu came to the last book. He sighed. None of the others had answers so it wouldn't be surprising if this one didn't either. Looking through the pages he was just about to throw the book when something caught his eyes.
"Centaurs?"
The book described them as half human half horse creatures. Not much is known about these creatures because of how rare it is to find one. They usually run from humans when spotted but a few researches managed to spy on them just enough for some information.
The information only lasted one page.
Shen Qingqiu couldn't find anything else. He looked at A-Yuan. Maybe the boy was a sub-species of the centaurs from the book. He has a lamb body instead of a horse.
A lambtaur.
That makes more sense. Lambtaur.
