It‘s been multiple months since the revival of Ryusui Nanami, a man with godly sailing and navigation skills, who thus was renowned as the future captain of the Science Kingdom‘s very own ship.
If you had to be honest, you didn’t like him very much at first. Ryusui was entitled, greedy, and kind of a pain in the butt actually. And just like Kohaku, you couldn’t quite tell whether he was good or bad.
But he eventually grew on you. Sure, his ego had the tendency to be more inflated than the hot-air balloon Senku and the team made, but he had his heart in the right place.
You can’t really remember how it happened but you somehow ended up being very close to Ryusui after some time.
He was a good friend, a good person, very smart, kind and handsome aaand you might have developed some feelings for him. Not like you would ever feed his ego by letting him know that.
And being Ryusui’s good friend, Gen asked you to go look for him in the forest.
“Ryusui-chan said that he wanted to explore the area a bit. I’m sure you’ll find him somewhere near the river.”, was what he had said before he sent you north.
You were walking around for about half an hour by now. Ranging from exotic looking flowers to small animals, you encountered almost everything, but still no Ryusui.
‘Maybe he went back already.’ you thought, ready to head back to Gen and the others as well. That was, until you heard familiar humming nearby.
You followed the source of the voice and lo and behold there he was. Bathing in the river. Butt naked.
Well, you only saw the upper part of his body, so you weren’t sure if he was actually butt naked or not.
Ryusui’s back was turned to you, something you were quite grateful for actually, which also meant that he probably hasn’t noticed you being there.
The question now was how to best approach him, preferably without seeming like a creep (not that he would ever think that of you).
While you were thinking, your eyes landed back on Ryusui. Some water droplets run down his hair, trailing down his muscular body and – oh my god, you should stop staring.
Heat was rising in your cheeks, as you desperately tried to redirect your thoughts and focus to somewhere else. It was then that Ryusui took notice of your presence.
“Oh, hey _______!”, he greeted, turning to you and without thinking rose from the water, which prompted you to frantically look away and turn your head about 90° to the side.
“Put some damn clothes on!” you yelled flustered, covering your eyes with both of your hands. (Never mind the fact that you were still able to slightly peek through your fingers.)
“It’s not like it’s the first time you’ve seen me naked.” Ryusui remarked with a chuckle, but nevertheless putting some clothes on, like you had requested.
“That was during your revival and before I’ve got to know you! And I had the decency to look away!”
Ryusui, now wearing a loose white shirt with light pants, stepped closer to you. With his head cocked to the side, his damped hair framed his face, making it hard for you to avert your gaze.
A mildly smug grin found its place on his lips.
“Funny, because right now, I see you staring an awful lot.”
You felt your cheeks heat up more than they previously were. Welp, there goes all your hopes of having been subtle.
If you hadn’t been highly embarrassed by the fact that Ryusui noticed your eyes on him,
you would have replied with some witty comeback, but all you were able to muster was a meekly “S-shut up”.
Ryusui only let out a hearty laugh at your response, before taking his captain hat off of a branch where the rest of his clothes had been hanging on just a few minutes prior. But instead of putting on the hat himself, he placed it on your head instead.
“Let’s go back to the others, shall we?”
His grin was unwavering, and all you could do was to pull down the hat further to hide your face as you wordlessly followed him back to Ishigami Village.
Unbeknownst to you, while you were internally struggling on what to do, Ryusui found your flustered reaction quite adorable. And while he would let you off the hook for now, he will certainly tease you about this the next chance he gets.
