Thrawn's heart beat in a lazy rhythm as Pellaeon shifted, forcing himself into a sitting position. He would never admit it aloud, but the moments after sex had gradually become his favorite part of sex. There was something impossible to replicate within the shared silence and gentle touches.
It was also the only time the captain could get a sliver of personal information out of Thrawn.
"How old were you when you lost your virginity?" Pellaeon asked casually, folding his arms behind his neck as he mimicked Thrawn's posture.
The grand admiral remained silent for a moment, his expression unreadable as he suspiciously eyed Pellaeon before responding.
"Twenty-six."
The captain's eyes inadvertently widened as he turned to face Thrawn. "You can't be serious."
Thrawn's eyes dimmed, perhaps with annoyance, as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You act as if I took a vow of celibacy," he said drily. "How old were you?"
Pellaeon couldn't help but huff as he answered. "Fourteen."
It was the closest he had ever come to seeing Thrawn surprised.
"Fourteen?" The grand admiral repeated as if getting a feel for the weight of the number. "Only if you had put that much effort into furthering your career."
The captain rolled his eyes.
"At least I didn't let almost three decades pass me by before seeking out life's simplest pleasure."
"At least the experience was pleasurable for both me and my partner," Thrawn shot back, a humorous glint flickering in his eye. "Tell me Gilad, did she finish?"
Thrawn's retort left Pellaeon stumbling for a comeback. He refused to acknowledge the truth of the grand admiral's assumption as heat flooded his cheeks.
"Bastard," the captain muttered beneath his breath as he returned to his back.
Thrawn's smirk idled a moment longer before he dragged a lazy finger over Pellaeon's bare chest.
"Perhaps it is enough that we have surpassed the need for first times," he said softly before letting his fingers dip beneath the covers.
As Thrawn's dark lips trailed down the captain's abdomen, Pellaeon was inclined to agree.
