Chapter 1: Protolog

Chapter Text

The Atlas glided through a new section of space. It was littered with weird clustered of dust that moved in spirals and waves. Everyone looked on in shock no one. Not even the paladins, had seen something like this. Space has been a strange experience but even this was bizarre.

The dust seemed to glitter and glow and it danced around the Atlas. It ducked and swirled in a bidding dance and it trailed around every port window. Seemingly putting on a show for everyone aboard the Atlas.

Coran’s over-eager voice was heard over the speakers. “nothing to worry about, well nothing too much! This is just galactic fairy dust. It has been know to make small and harmless things happen around the ships, pranks really. But only if it gets in. We will be fine as long as no one does any spacewalks!”

But as if on queue the hatch to the science bay opened and the paladins, who were looking not far from the group lions bay watch as one of the curious young scientist had already suited up and set out almost before Coran had begun his warning.

“why?!” Lance grumbled.

The dust made a b-line for the open port. It speed through to the labs tossing everything up, making beakers break, computers crack and tossing papers all over the place. It activated to doors and spread through the labs, getting into everything as it went. Papers get tossed about, and to the shock of the techs and scientists, the words even get re arranged. It quickly flies into the air vents and through out the ship. It gets into the green house, turning it into something out of a dream. All the plants have changed color and the dirt is now a bright yellow. Colleen is off in the corner just shaking her head in astonishment at the mess her greenhouse has become. With no idea how to fix this she simply head to her computer and starts yelling at the scientists responsible for this mess. Maybe they can also be the ones held responsible to fix it.

The dust was still on a rampage though as it tossed everything not bolted down in the kitchen. Everything that could be was on the ground. All kitchen staff was simply grumbled as they re organized it all. Though they also noticed that none of there items had any labels on them anymore. They were all blank.

In the tech rooms all the wires not responsible for life support were yanked out and knotted together. A few of the crew were actually trying to pull the wires away from the dust and were astonished when the dust actually retaliated by changing their hair color or clothing. One man seemed to be wearing a full blown princess ball gown even.

The flight decks didn’t fair any better. The dust swirled around each and every lion. The paladins watched in horror as they seemed to Hum in excitement. When they started to recede though, the towering forms of the lions were not there instead there were smaller normal sized lions…. In black, red, green, blue, and yellow. The black one even and red and yellow wings. Everyone in the room had their jaws on the ground.

The ships helm was not spared in this invasion now. As the dust descended from every vent there is caused all the navigation to fritz and then suddenly moved to Shiro. They covered him and hummed even louder than with the lions. When they left he also was diminished in stature. Everyone aboard the helm stared in shock as there captain was now a seven year old.
