“ And there's a spark in your center that's piercing me in.”

“Fuck!” Chat groaned as his back hit the wall a second before he felt pain shooting out from his stomach. Looking down, he gasped as the spear sticking out of him secured him tightly against the wall.

“Lookie, lookie, here.” Krafter said as she approached the pinned hero. “Seems instead of pinning the tail on a donkey, I pinned a kitty to the wall.”

Chat wanted so badly to mock the lame pun but he was too busy coughing up his own blood to show this akuma how to properly make a pun.

“Oh, no. You’re bleeding!” She tittered joyfully. “And here I thought those super cool suits were indestructible.”

As she prattled on, Chat was at a loss. He could cataclysm the spear and escape, but with a wound like this he could possibly bleed out before anyone got to him. Or he could stay here and hope that one of his teammates came along to help him before he passed out or the akuma took his ring.

“Ohhh. I think I want to try something out.” She cooed and started to sparkle. Eyes widening, he looked up at her center as it sparked and the akuma reached into it and pulled out a longsword. “I wonder if any weapon I create can pierce that suit of yours."

A pair of purple butterfly wings spread across the akuma's face and Chat assumed Hawk Moth was talking with the akuma because her face twisted.

“I have him pinned to a wall. You will get his miraculous as soon as I find the answer to my question.” Tipping her head, she looked up the side of the sword. “How strong is the hex leather?” Chat’s eyes widened even more as she pointed the sword at him. “You ready, kitten?”

“Fuck.”

“Shit!” Marinette huffed as she finally made it up to her bedroom. She’d been trapped in the bakery when the akuma struck. No matter what she said, her parents wouldn’t let her out of their sight and she couldn’t sneak away to transform! Finally she'd said she had to go to the restroom and ran straight to her room.

Enough of that.

She had to hurry because she knew Chat would absolutely confront the akuma alone.

Stupid Kitty! She thought affectionately before shaking her head.

“Chat needs me! Tikki, spots on!”

Following the path of destruction, Ladybug swung through the city hoping that she could quickly find her partner.

And find her partner she did.

Pinned against the wall with a long stick of wood sticking out of his stomach. The akuma held a long sword that glistened red in the sunlight.

Ladybug’s heart thudded hard in her chest at the sight and she quickly dropped down and kicked the akuma away from him. She forced herself not to look back at him because she knew seeing him in the state he was in would break her concentration and she needed to focus on defeating the akuma first.

Said Akuma was picking herself off the ground and grinning at Ladybug. “Oh. Hey there, bug. Nice of you to drop in. I was just testing the strength of your lover’s suit. Seems it doesn’t really hold that well, does it Chat?”

Chat groaned and Ladybug decided that they’d done enough talking.

“Lucky Charm!”

The googles dropped into her hand and she instantly saw the plan.

Using the sun as her partner, she blinded the akuma before snatching the swiss army knife from her hands and breaking it. The purple butterfly fluttered in the sky a few moments before Ladybug caught it and de-evilized it.

“Miraculous Ladybug!”

The ladybugs swept the city but Ladybug quickly turned back to Chat. She was able to quickly catch him before he fell to the ground. He had little but deep cuts all over his body from where the suit was ripped and his face also had a couple of cuts and scratches too.

Ladybug wanted to cry seeing her kitty in such a state.

“Chat! Are you okay? Does it still hurt? Do I need to take you to a hospital?”

Chat shrugged. “It… hurts, but not as much. I think I need to detransform so I can make… sure.”

“Okay.” Looking around, she spotted an empty building and quickly swung them into it. “I’ll go around the wall!”

She hid and heard him meekly say “Claws in.”

“Oi kid.” She heard Plagg say. “That really messed you up.”

She was so focused on her partner’s response that she didn’t notice her own transformation fade.

“I know.” He gasped and then groaned. “I thought there was nothing that could pierce our suits.”

“Magical items are tricky… wow, that’s a lot of blood.”

The moment the words hit her ears, she didn’t think. She rushed around the corner and dropped next to his body. The dark shirt beneath the white one was soaked.

“Oh no!” She breathed and immediately yanked up his shirt. He gasped and she really hoped she hadn’t hurt him but the skin beneath lay untouched. Relief flooded her system as her fingers grazed the flawless skin. “Thank God, Chat.”

“M-Marinette?!” The voice above her shook and she froze.

There was a beat of silence as she took in the familiar black shirt and white overshirt and she froze.

She was still detransformed as well.

“Oh shit.”

“You’re Ladybug?!”

Marinette couldn’t stop her eyes from traveling up the body to the shocked green eyes of her classmate.

Her hands shook as she pointed at him. “A-And you’re Adrien Agreste! I mean you’re Chat!”

Adrien was Chat Noir.

Chat Noir was Adrien.

Chat who almost died today.

Adrien who she was in love with.

Chat who was madly in love with Ladybug… who was her!

Adrien who still had blood on his shirt from nearly being dissected by an akuma.

Marinette’s mind felt broken as she tried to understand and make the connections under the situation and she just broke down in tears as she clutched his shirt that was still sticky with his drying blood.

Adrien patted her back as he tried to console her. “It’s alright, Milady. I’m… sorry if you’re disappointed it’s me.”

Marinette froze and looked up into his face. “What?”

“I know I’m just a silly cat and jokester and I’m sorry if you’re disappointment he turned out to be me.”

Marinette felt the first neutral emotion flow through her body and she rolled her eyes. “You stupid kitty!”

He blinked once and then again. “What?”

“I’m not disappointed! I’m relieved that you’re not dying! ” She nearly shouted. At his confused look, she sighed before wrapping a hand around his neck and pulling him into a kiss. He froze for a moment before he returned the kiss with fervor. When she pulled away, she shook her head. “I-I couldn’t be happier that you’re Adrien… or that you’re Chat. I’ve been in love with Adrien Agreste for a year!”

Adrien gasped. “Really? We’ve been friends for that long and I never noticed?”

Marinette felt her first laugh bubble up in her chest. “I guess you’re also an oblivious cat, it looks like.”

Adrien chuckled. “Oh. Would it be too late to ask you out on a date?”

Marinette grinned. “Absolutely not.”

“Well, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, would you like to go on a date with me?”

“Absolutely… as soon as we go wash all this blood off.”

“And after that?”

Wrapping her hands around his neck, she bit her lip. “After that, I’ll go anywhere and everywhere as long as it’s with you.”
