Simon is silent as Rocky tediously dries his face. Even when it presses the cloth to the scarred skin of his other cheek, there is no pain. The fibers of the cloth snag on a scab, but Rocky is so careful as it pulls away. His heart aches. Not in the gripped-by-fear way. The ache is tender and warm, and Simon follows Rocky's hand as it pulls away from him entirely. He stops himself quickly, but he knows they both noticed.Series
