Chapter Text

Licorice was thrown out of what seemed to be a portal, the other side of the portal being a white empty void with someone standing there, in which Licorice and him had fought.

"HEY YOU–" He didn't get to finish his sentence before the portal was shut.

Sighing, he weakly stood up. He had obviously lost as there were scratches and stab wounds all over him. wincing at standing on his injured leg as he got up, he used the side of a tree to balance himself.

Glancing around, he took note that he was in the middle of the forest he practically lived in half of his life when he had run away, until Dark Enchantress took him in and let him join the darkness. Poison mushroom, pomegranate, lobster, licorice, strawberry crepe, chess choco twins, earl gray, and matcha. Matcha was dark enchantress's sister. Dark choco had been in it, until after another fight with his father he almost killed he realized the darkness was not his place. Abandoning his cursed sword and going somewhere else, away from the darkness. Their leader (Dark enchantress), had been missing for a month and a half. Only the darkness knew that. However, they didn't know where she went or if she just left the darkness members behind.

Licorice suddenly fell because of the sharp pain in his leg, "ACK-" he pushed himself onto his knees with his hands, he decided not to get up again but that just laying there wouldn't hurt him further.

"Damnit.. Radix." He growled, it was an unfair fight anyways. Radix was a ghost, and one of the most powerful entities. He stood no chance, against his own brother. Whose death had overall been his fault. He sighed, sitting back against the tree.. Then he passed out, due to blood loss, or whatever.

Other POV:
Another person was walking along the forest, taking a nice afternoon stroll around the forest, birds chirping, grass blowing in the wind, the liveliness of almost summer. He was carrying a staff, which was a flower. He called it flow. It had an eye in the middle and was used for healing. He had a white dress like thing with a chocolate pattern and a yellow ice cream cone hat, he had a sort of cape thing, which I don't know what to call, and blonde hair which mostly was hidden within the hat except his bangs. His name was Pure Vanilla. One of the ancients, one of the most known heroes in the world who defeated Dark Enchantress until she came back again.

Humming, he smiled as he passed by the bushes. Flow made a little noise to catch pures attention.

"Yes, flow?" He asked, with the same calming tone as always. Flow pointed towards a tree with one of its leaves, pure looked over. He saw licorice- well, he was passed out.

"Oh dear.." he walked over and sat next to him, inspecting all of the injuries. "How did he even.." he didn't finish the question, as he knew he didn't have an answer himself.

He used his healing magic to heal the majority of his cuts and his leg, then bandaged the cuts he wasn't able to heal. He sighed, feeling bad but also confused. This was one of the only times he wasn't able to identify how something as an injury occurred.

"Maybe I can ask when he wakes up?" He looked at Flow.

"Pure, he's an enemy–" Flow started,

"well, yes, but he doesn't seem like much of a threat without any energy and injured. Without any energy he can't use magic anyways." Pure Vanilla pointed out.

"Good point.. I guess so." Flow agreed.

"So we will wait here." He sat down near Licorice but not too close. And waited.

Half an hour passes..
"Ughh.." Licorice had slowly started to wake up. Pure looked over at him.

"Goodmorning." he politely said.

"WHAT THE-" Licorice jumped back. "WHEN DID- what did-.." he was super confused. "Did I pass out??" he asked, distancing himself from pure.

"Mhm, you were bleeding pretty badly." Pure calmly said.

"Wait, did you-" he looked at his arms and hands, where the scratches had been, "help me?.." he finished his question after hesitating.

"I wouldn't just leave someone to bleed out, no matter if we're enemies or not." Pure answered. "Also.. how did that happen?" he asked. Licorice looked away. Silent. Pure slightly frowned, "You can tell me." he reassuringly said.

"It was.. Just a fight. Nothing more." However, he sounded unsure. He wasn't completely telling the truth.

"And... with who?" Pure asked.

"I..it's nothing you have to worry about." licorice eventually said.

"I'm just wondering, because it doesn't look like another cookie did that–" pure was about to add something else on, but licorice interrupted.

"It's nothing." he said, this time more aggressively. Flow looked at Pure with a "told ya so" look. That's when another voice came in.. out of nowhere.

"Oh? So I'm nothing now?" the voice was echoed, and a little bit distorted. Licorice stood up and backed up away from the voice.

"Radix.." he murmured.

"Who?"

Licorice didn't get to answer, radix had appeared in front of him. He had the same hair color as him, but unlike licorice, his hair style was different. There was blood dripping from his head in a never ending injury and he had demon horns that looked different than any he'd ever seen. It was a ghost, for sure. He had yellow glowing eyes and a small black and purple crown floating above his head. He had a purple scarf that covered most of his shirt and black sleeves with purple ends, he had wings that were black and purple that were closed in close to his back and a mechanical leg. He looked at least a couple years older than licorice.

"So your brother is nothing?" He said.

Pure backed up. Licorice did too, Pure also noted this was the first time he'd seen licorice so genuinely scared, he was still limping so his leg wasn't fully healed. Radix seemed to smile at the fact his brother was so helpless and weak. He liked striking fear into his enemies. Radix slashed at licorice but he jumped back and threw his scythe at him. Radix knocked it away quickly.

"Stop." Pure said, stepping in the middle of them and giving licorice his scythe back.

Radix glanced at pure and back at licorice and narrowed his eyes,

"you're lucky."he said, before leaving.

Pure vanilla stood there staring at where he had left before he heard heavy, shaky breaths behind him.

"Licorice?" He looked back, licorice was.. crying?? Odd. "Hey- hey its okay-." Pure rushed to comfort him.

"No- n-no- no- its not-" licorice seemed to be panicking really quickly.

"No, no it is okay. I promise. Hey, I'm here. Its okay." Pure vanilla hugged him and tried comforting him, licorice was unable to speak so just hugged pure back and sobbed. Pure felt bad, licorice may be the villain but did anyone ever stop to think why?

He noticed the crying had stopped, but instead licorice had passed out again. Pure picked him up, flow in his other hand. Pure walked back to where he lived, in the vanilla kingdom, which was not far from here. he entered the house after awhile of walking while licorice was still passed out, closing the door behind him. Pure walked towards another room, entering and carefully laid licorice down on the bed in the guest bedroom and left him to rest, then went to the kitchen to make tea. One of his personal favorites.
