Chapter 1: Welcome To Ninjago High
Lloyd was getting ready for his first day of his junior year of highschool. He is 5'6, green eyes with messy blonde hair. He hides a six pack and toned body under a baggy green sweater and brown sweatpants.
"Are you excited for school, Lloyd" asked his uncle, Wu. Lloyd lives with his uncle. His father, Garmadon, is the local mob boss of Ninjago City. His mother, Misako, is a wanderer. So Lloyd lives with Wu.
"Not really. She's gonna be there" said Lloyd. Wu put a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"I know the past can hurt, but you must look to the future in order to move on" he said.
"I know, uncle. It's just hard" said Lloyd.
"Besides, your friends are going to be there" said Wu. This made Lloyd smile a little bit.
"Have a good day Lloyd. And remember, never put off tomorrow what can be done today" said Wu. Lloyd nodded and walked out the door.
"Stay strong my nephew" said Wu. Lloyd walked out of the house and into the waiting red truck. He sat in the front seat next to Kai. Kai was 5'9, spiky brown hair, brown eyes and a lean build with a six pack. Kai was wearing his usual red tee shirt and blue jeans.
"Are you excited buddy" asked Kai.
"I think you know my answer" said Lloyd.
"Don't worry man, I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. Especially not her" said Kai as he messed with Lloyd's hair.
"You know Lloyd, I can beat her up for you" said Nya from the back seat. She is 5'6, black hair in a ponytail, blue eyes, athletic build and moderate curves. She was wearing her usual skinny jeans, red crop top and jean jacket.
"No, you know I'm not like that" said Lloyd.
"Suit yourself" said Nya.
"So, how was everyone's weekend" asked Jay. He is 5'5, messy brown hair, freckles, blue eyes and an athletic build. He was wearing a blue long sleeve and orange sweatpants.
"Not too great. I had to listen to my little sister and best friend make out all of last night" said Kai as he glared at the two in the mirror. Jay and Nya shrank in their seats.
"Weren't you with Skylar yesterday" asked Lloyd.
"She had to cancel. Her dad was being, well, her dad" said Kai.
"What about you Lloyd. You didn't call me yesterday" asked Nya.
"I was talking to my dad. He wanted to check up on me" said Lloyd.
"I still don't get that. Lord Garmadon, the Ninjago City crime boss, is still a good father" said Kai.
"Yeah, it's pretty crazy. But he's good to me. And he helps protect the school. Unfortunately, he really liked her" said Lloyd.
"Let's not think about her, ok. You have your friends" said Kai.
"Right, thanks guys" said Lloyd. Kai parked in his spot and the four of them got out. Waiting for them was Cole and Zane. Cole is 5'10, messy black hair, dark skin, brown eyes and absolutely built. He was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and jeans. Zane is 5'8, neat silver hair, blue eyes and built with a six pack. He was wearing a polo shirt and khakis.
"There you guys are" said Cole.
"Is anyone else excited for another school year" asked Zane. The six of them make up the Ninja. They've all been friends since elementary school. Jay and Nya have been dating since middle school. Kai and Jay are best friends along with Cole and Zane, and Lloyd and Nya.
"I am. There's always a chance for us to meet new people" said Jay.
"Jay, who would want to meet you" said Kai. Then his sister slugged him.
"Me" she said.
"We should probably head inside. I'm sure Skylor, Pixel and Vania are waiting" said Lloyd.
"Good point. I don't feel like getting yelled at again" said Cole. The Ninja walked inside and met with the three girls.
"Kai, I'm so sorry about yesterday. You know my dad" said Skylor. She is 5'8, amber eyes, red hair, athletic build and larger curves. She is wearing her usual tight orange tee shirt and red leggings.
"Don't worry about it" said Kai as the two of them shared a kiss.
"Hey Zane, it's good to see you" said Pixel. She is 5'7, silver hair in a ponytail, blue eyes, average build and average curves. She was wearing her usual skinny jeans and tee shirt.
"It's good to see you too" said Zane.
"You're not late this time" said Vania. She is 5'5, pale skin, blonde flowing hair, blue eyes, dainty build and small curves. She was wearing a white dress.
"Of course not. My queen told me not too" said Cole as the two kissed. Although Skylor, Pixel and Vania are dating Ninja, they aren't officially part of the group.
"Wow guys. It's like all eight of you forget I'm here" said Lloyd.
"Don't worry Lloyd, you'll land your own girl" said Nya as she rested on his shoulder.
"No, I don't think so. I'm not interested" said Lloyd as he brushed her off and walked away.
"Lloyd, wait" said Nya, but he ignored her.
"He's afraid, sis" said Kai.
"Afraid of what" asked Nya.
"Love. He's afraid of falling in love" said Kai.
"I guess she did more damage than we thought" said Nya.
"Don't worry Nya. He's strong" said Skylor. Then Lloyd got pushed into a locker by Morro. He is 5'8, long black hair, black eyes and an athletic build. He's wearing a varsity jacket, black tee and jeans. He's a former friend of the Ninja.
"Hey. Leave him alone" called out Kai. The eight of them ran over to Lloyd.
"Awww. Does the little wimp need his friends to protect him" said Harumi, her. She is 5'7, white hair in a ponytail, blue eyes, average build and bigger curves. She's wearing her usual black crop top and knee length skirt with stockings.
"Hey, leave him alone" said Kai as he stepped to her. Morro pushed him back.
"Don't touch my girl" he said.
"That's no girl, that's a witch" said Nya.
"Leave them be. They're just jealous they're stuck with pathetic little Lloyd" mocked Harumi. Lloyd just looked away.
"We'd choose him over you any day" said Cole.
"Suit yourself" said Harumi as she walked away.
"How could you Morro. You used to be our friend" and Kai.
"I did? Couldn't tell. You always treated me as an outsider" said Morro as he followed his girlfriend. The Ninja turned to Lloyd.
"Are you ok buddy" asked Kai.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Honestly, I'm kinda used to it" said Lloyd.
"That's not something you should be used to" said Zane.
"I swear, next time I see her, I'm gonna punch her in the face" said Nya.
"Easy Nya. You'd get suspended" said Jay. But Lloyd wasn't listening. He was watching someone walk by. A girl he's never seen. She is 5'3 with jet black hair, brown eyes, a light build, little fangs and moderate curves. She was wearing a red tee shirt and ripped jeans. Lloyd never saw someone so beautiful in his life. The girl walked by without noticing his stare.
"Lloyd, you there" asked Nya. He shook out of his daze.
"Yeah, I'm here" he said.
"Are you ok" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine" said Lloyd.
"Hey, who let the savage in" called out someone.
"You stupid beast" called out another. Lloyd could see that the girl from earlier was the target. But she just walked on.
"That must be the new girl. I heard she's a Formling" said Zane.
"You mean she's from that village in the north" asked Vania.
"Precisely" said Pixel.
"Well, she's in for a rough ride" said Skylor. Lloyd just watched her go.
During lunch, everyone was talking, except Lloyd. He kept looking at the new girl across the lunch room.
"Hello. Earth to Lloyd. Is anyone there" asked Nya as she waved a hand in front of his face.
"Oh, sorry. What did you say" he said.
"Are you ok. You've been zoning out a lot" said Nya.
"I'm fine" he said as he stole a glance at the girl again. This was caught by Kai.
"Oh, you got your eye on the new girl" he teased. Nya piped up at this.
"Lloyd, that's great. You should talk to her" she said.
"No way. I'm not going to do that. She's just really pretty" said Lloyd.
"It's fine Lloyd. All you gotta do is make her laugh. It worked on Nya" said Jay.
"It's an acquired taste" said Nya.
"Don't listen to Jay. You gotta show her how tough you are" said Cole as he puffed out his chest, only to get poked in the gut by Vania.
"Sure, you turn to mush every time you see cake" she said.
"The most important thing is to be yourself" said Zane.
"That's actually good advice" said Pixel.
"I'm not going to. I'm not making the same mistake twice" said Lloyd.
"Lloyd, love isn't something to be afraid of. I know she hurt you, but look at all of us. Don't give up hope" said Nya. Lloyd didn't say anything.
"Don't worry buddy, I got your back" said Kai as he got up and walked over to the new girl.
"Oh no. He's going to make a fool of himself" said Skylor.
"Hey new girl, how would you like to sit with me and my friends" said Kai to the new girl.
"Not interested" she said in an accent.
"Come on girl, we're all nice" he said.
"You seem to be an egomaniac. Are your friends like that too" asked the new girl. Kai froze for a second, before changing his composure.
"Ok, I deserve that. I swear I'm the only egomaniac" he said as he sat down.
"Still not interested. I do not need your pitty" she said.
"My name's Kai. What's yours" he asked.
"None of your business" she said. Kai sighed and walked back over to his table.
"Eat this, savage" said someone as they hit the new girl with an apple.
"She's cold. If I were you, I'd stay clear Lloyd" said Kai. Lloyd ran his hand through his hair.
"I can't believe I'm about to do this" he said. He grabbed his lunch and walked over to her.
"Yeah, go Lloyd" called out Nya.
"Hey, can I sit here" he asked the new girl.
"Free country" she said coldly. He sat down and took a deep breath.
"Before you start, I have no interest in your pitty" she said.
"You're really pretty" he said. This caught her off guard. She eyed him suspiciously.
"Thanks. That is a horrible pick up line" she said.
"Yeah, I know. But it's true" he said.
"Stop your flirting. It will not work" she said.
"Sorry, I'm just trying to be nice" he said.
"Why" she asked.
"Because, well" he said before getting cut off.
"Because I am pretty. All men are the same" she said. He didn't know what to say, so he turned back to his food. She looked at him out of the corner of her eye and smirked.
"You seem different from the last guy who came here" she said.
"Yeah, sorry about that. He was doing that for me. I was too scared to talk to you at first" he said.
"So, you are a coward" she said, the smirk still present.
"N-no. Just, not great with girls" he stammered, but stopped when he heard her giggle. His cheeks turned red at the adorable sound.
"You are cute when you get frustrated. I am Akita, what is your name" she asked as she looked at him for the first time.
"Lloyd, nice to meet you" he said as they shook hands.
"So, the egomaniac is your friend" she said.
"Yeah, he's an idiot, but he means well" he said. Someone threw an apple at her, but Lloyd caught it.
"Why are people doing that" he asked.
"I am from formling village. People of Ninjago are very racist towards my people" she said.
"Not me and my friends, I swear" he said.
"You seem to be truthful" she said.
"I'm a very honest person" he said.
"I bet that bit you in the butt before" she said. This triggered him a bit.
"It's better than being cold to people" he snapped.
"Oi, what is that supposed to mean" she snapped back. The two glared at each other, before breaking out laughing.
"Wow, you are so easy to bicker with" she said.
"So are you. What's your next class" he asked.
"Biology with Mr Chen" she said.
"Same with me. We can sit together if you want" he said.
"Sure. I do not see why not. Probably better than being alone" she said.
As the two were talking, Nya was watching them.
"He looks happy" she said.
"Nya, you worry too much about him. He'll be fine" said Jay.
"I can't help it. Harumi really hurt him" she said.
"We know. But you have to let him heal at his own pace" said Zane.
"I guess you're right. It's just hard. I guess it's my sister's instinct kicking in" she said.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine. But you're right, he and the new girl did seem to kick it off pretty well" said Vania.
"She was nothing but cold to me" said Kai.
"That's because you're an idiot" said Skylor.
"I'm not an idiot" he said with a voice crack.
"You're an egomaniac" said Cole.
"That's exactly what she said" said Kai.
After school, the Ninja were waiting for Lloyd to join them.
"Where is he" asked Kai, getting very impatient.
"He's only 3 minutes and 6 seconds late" said Zane.
"Lloyd's never late" said Cole.
"Don't worry guys. Maybe he's talking to the new girl again" said Jay.
"It's more likely he's getting harassed by Morro and Harumi" said Kai. Then they heard Lloyd's voice talking to a female one. They hid behind a wall and spied on them.
"You are such an idiot" said Akita.
"I don't see how I'm being an idiot" he said.
"You talking to me is putting a massive target on your back. Your people are very racist towards my people" she said.
"I already have a target on my back. My ex ruined my image in school. Now I'm the number one bully target" he said.
"I am sorry to hear that" she said.
"It's fine. My friends have my back. And, I have yours" he said. She couldn't help but smile at him.
"Friends" he asked as he held out his hand.
"In my village. We bow instead of shaking hands" she said.
"Ok, then let's do that" he said. Her smile only grew as the two bowed. They parted ways and Lloyd met with his friends.
"I know you guys heard everything" he said.
"You are smooth, man" said Kai as he slapped his back.
"I'm not trying to be. I just want to be her friend" said Lloyd.
"Sure you are. She's falling for you man" said Cole. Lloyd blushed at the comment.
"Leave him alone boys. Just let him do what he wants" said Nya.
"I already told myself, I'm not falling in love again" said Lloyd. This made everyone quiet.
"You shouldn't say that. Love is amazing. Just look at me and Nya. If you like this girl, you should go for her" said Jay.
"I'll think about it" said Lloyd.
"Come on guys. We don't want to leave Master Wu waiting" said Kai.
Meanwhile, Akita was walking to her home, a rundown apartment in the bad part of town.
"Hey savage bitch" called out a strange man. Akita just quickened her pace and pulled something out of her pocket.
"Come here you stupid beast" said the man. He put a hand on her shoulder, and she whipped around and sprayed pepper spray in his eyes.
"Do not touch me" she said. She used her key to get inside.
"Good to see you sister" said her brother, Kataru.
"You too. How was work" she asked.
"My boss is pretty nice. But most of my coworkers are pretty racist. How was school" he asked.
"It was fine. Lots of racism, but I did meet one person who was not. He was really nice to me" she said.
"A boy. You are not falling in love, are you" he teased.
"No, and I am not going to. But I could use a friend" she said.
"You do not have to be afraid of love. I know you must focus on school, but let yourself live, ok" he said.
"Ok" she said.
Meanwhile, the Ninja arrived at Master Wu's Dojo.
"Welcome back students" said Wu. All six ninja bowed to him.
"Hello Master" they all said.
"The training room is open. I have no instructions for you today" he said. The six of them nodded and went off to the training room.
"Jay, would you like to join me" asked Nya as she was doing some pull ups.
"Of course" he said as he joined her.
"Is everything ok Nya" asked Jay.
"Of course. But I've been spending all day worrying about Lloyd, I've barely given you any attention" she teased as she messed with his hair.
"I'm not a dog" he whined.
"Are you sure. You're as cute as one" she said.
"Why thank you. I'm always trying" he said. She just rolled her eyes at him.
"So, how was your day sweetie" she asked.
"It was pretty normal. Except for one thing, if you're ok with hearing me talk" he said. She had a bit of a dreamy look on her face.
"Talk away" she said. And so he did. Kai just rolled his eyes at his sister's actions.
"Wow, Nya really loves modder mouth" said Cole.
"I know. He's all she talks about. When she's not worrying about this guy" said Kai as he messed with Lloyd's hair.
"She shouldn't worry about me" said Lloyd.
"It seems that besides Jay, you're her favorite person, Lloyd" said Zane.
"No way. That's gotta be Kai" said Lloyd.
"Nah, I'm only one of her favorite people when I'm not annoying her, which isn't very often" said Kai.
"I love you, Nya" said Jay.
"Right back at you" she said before they shared a quick kiss.
"Is it just me, or does Nya never say "I love you" to Jay" said Cole.
"It is peculiar. Most couples who have been together for as long as they have say I love you a lot. I know Pixel and I do" said Zane.
"Yeah, it is strange. I mean, it's obvious she does. So why doesn't she ever say it" said Kai.
"Maybe she's not comfortable with saying it" said Lloyd.
"She's ok with making out with him, and more. So I doubt that" said Kai.
"Speaking of making out" said Cole as Jay and Nya were sharing a deep kiss.
"Oh come on you two. Get your hormones in check will you" said Kai as he stormed over to them. The other three couldn't help but laugh.
