Summary
Inko scrambles over to grab her phone at around 6 PM, surprised when it’s playing Hisashi’s ringtone — it’s very, very late over there in California, and he has never been the type to stay up late. She’s suddenly glad for Izuku’s bratty behavior earlier, where he refused to come home for dinner, insisting he was going for dinner with his friends to celebrate his win. (She’d cut his pocket money awhile ago and stopped making dinner for him if he didn’t come home, giving him only what was required to buy lunch on the days she didn’t pack it and nothing more, but it hadn’t seemed to stop him from going out at all, staying out for dinner many evenings. She was starting to think that the Todoroki boy really was just buying him dinner every time, and she couldn’t figure out what such a powerful boy would get out of that.)
“Hisashi!” She practically shouts into the phone before she gets a grip on her volume. “Hisashi, Hisashi... is everything okay? You never call this late!”
