Rin carefully steps over Obito’s haphazardly thrown clothes on the shore and drops her own tunic and shorts on the pile. She can’t see him in the water at first, then spots him coming up for air some distance away. He faces away from her, so she waits for him to sense her presence and turn around before stepping into the water, so as to not alert the Uchiha.
When he does turn around and see her, his usual lopsided grin splits his face and he makes a gesture to invite Rin into the water; the land they were in had hit its first heat wave of the summer and it was absolutely unrelenting, which was what had pushed Obito to seek out the waterfall for a swim. And they were alone today, just the two of them, Kakashi having left early in the morning to hunt with his dogs. Rin smiles, quickly pulling her hair into a low ponytail so it did not get tangled.
Then, before stepping in the water, she catches Obito’s eye with hers and took off her underwear. Even at a distance, she could see the blush spreading on his cheeks and she sank in the cool water, holding back a sigh of contentment. The pond at the foot of the waterfall is less deep than she had expected, and she swims toward Obito, hooking her arms around his neck when she got close enough. Their noses are almost touching, and Rin feels one of his hands rest on her waist.
“You’re naked,” Obito says in the space between them, and he probably intended it to be a whisper but it came out a lot louder. Obviously, he wouldn't be able to hear himself over the sound of the waterfall. Rin hums, smiling, and Obito adds, quieter this time: “I like that.”
