Better Boyfriend

Summary:

Raelle sees Scylla at a party, looking bored as her boyfriend ignores her. She steps in and the night turns out better than either of them could have hoped for. Based on Dove Cameron’s song ‘Boyfriend’

Notes:

This is my very first time posting any sort of fanfiction, and to be honest, I’m very nervous. This is unedited and written in the middle of the night, as I couldn’t get the idea out of my head. I hope it isn’t too bad, and at least someone will enjoy it.

Work Text:

Raelle’s scanned the dimly lit room from where she sat on a beat up sofa; her attention soon turned to a group of rowdy boys playing a game of beer pong. Even through the blaring music of the party, she could still pick up their overly excited shouting. Looking past them, her eyes caught on a figure behind them, the girl was petite with dark hair and light eyes, exactly Raelle’s type. This most likely explained why the blonde was unable to tear her eyes away. She kept her eyes trained on the girl, who watching the game, looking uninterested, if not a bit annoyed.
The game finished up and the girl, who she later learned was named Scylla, approach a tall blonde boy wearing a letterman jacket. Scylla placed her hand on his bicep, trying to get his attention. He turned to her, brushing her off and starting a new game up instead. Scylla rolled her eyes and started to walk off. Raelle stood up and glanced down at herself. Wearing light-washed jeans and a casual blazer that made it obvious she was bare underneath, she decided she looked good enough to approach the girl who she found overly attractive. She started over, but before crossing the threshold to the next room, she was blocked by her room-mates who insisted she come play a game of cards with them. She sighed but agreed, as they were the reason she was there in the first place.
Several games of cards and a few drinks later, Abigail and Tally were about to depart from the party, hanging from the arms of the men they had chosen to go home with. Raelle stood up, stretching her back, and headed to the door, intending to leave with them.
As she dodged past several couples dancing to the music playing from the nearby stereo, she glanced over, and her eyes landed on Scylla, sulking on the couch she herself had been sitting on earlier. She felt like it was some sort of fate divined by the goddess that she caught Scylla alone, right as she was intending to leaved.

Scylla glanced up, as a shadow moved in front of her. Her eyes met a girl with silver-blonde hair, braided down one side. Her eyes ran down the girl’s body, and she felt a spark of interest in her gut as she found the blonde’s chest and sternum bare, visible until her blazer buttoned at her abdomen.
“I can’t believe a pretty girl like you is sitting alone at a party” the blonde said, smiling down at Scylla.
“My boyfriend decided drinking with his frat buddies was more important than spending time with his girlfriend” she snarked.
The girl held out her hand and replied with a smirk
“Well his loss, my gain. You should come dance with me.”
It only took a split second to make up her mind. Her desire for this woman quickly overpowered her recent waning interest in her boyfriend.
She took the other girl’s hand and was pulled up, she smoothed her navy dress down, before following the blonde into the crowd of people dancing.
“I’m Raelle” the other girl told her, before pulling her close. At the start of their dancing, they followed the boundaries that any two acquaintances would; moving against each other, but not touching. By the third song though, their bodies were pulled flush against each other, the movements between them borderline indecent. Scylla’s heart and core pounded with the music as Raelle gripped her hips and guided her, grinding their lower halves together.
“What do you say we get out of here,” Raelle murmured, lips brushing against Scylla’s ear. She looked into the the girl’s eyes, body warming at the lustful look she saw, and quickly agreed.
“Give me a moment and I’ll meet you out front.” Raelle nodded before heading towards the door.
Scylla found Porter in the kitchen, laughing, with several girls around he and his friends. She stopped in front of him, speaking loudly to get his attention
“I’m leaving,” she said, and at his slightly confused look she continued “with someone.” Porter looked irritated, but replied.
“Yeah, whatever, not like I care much anyway.”
Scylla strode towards toward the door with excitement burning through her. Heading out the front, she let Raelle grab her hand and lead her away.

Scylla looked around the townhouse, slightly surprised at the coziness of it, not exactly what she was expecting of Raelle’s home.
“My roommates are out for the night, so we have the place to ourselves.” Scylla shifted around, suddenly a bit nervous. She had never been with a girl before, and her recent experiences with her boyfriend had been less than stellar.
Raelle noticed her quietness and surprised her as she pressed her against the door behind them. Scylla’s face flamed as Raelle got close and whispered
“Babe, I can show you things that he could never dream of,”
Her awkwardness forgotten, replaced completely by arousal, she followed Raelle up the stairs.

Scylla stretched as she woke up, enjoying the pleasurable soreness that spread through her, a reminder of the night before. Raelle soon walked into the room, carrying two mugs. Scylla smiled at the other girl’s tired face and sleep messed hair.
“I made coffee,” Raelle said, offering a mug to Scylla. They drank their coffee, and sat in comfortable silence, neither wanting to break the pleasant bubble they were in.
All too soon, it was time for Scylla to head out. She started to pull her dress on, grumbling about the uncomfortable material. Raelle held up a hand, telling her to wait. She disappeared into the attached bathroom, and returned a few minutes later, with a bundle in her arms.
“My clothes with fit,” she smiled gently, holding out the clothes for Scylla to take. The got dressed and headed down the stairs and towards the door. Raelle pressed a sweet kiss to her mouth and said, “thank you for coming with me last night, it was nice.” And with that, Scylla walked out the door.

It was later that night that Scylla reluctantly changed out of Raelle’s clothes. It was only when she went to throw them in the hamper that she noticed a piece of paper peeking out of the back pocket. She pulled it out and unfolded it. The note read
“I could be a better boyfriend than him.” There was a phone number written beneath it. Scylla smiled as she put the note on her night stand, and picked up her phone.
