Hoth - 3ABY
Echo Base
Leia Organa threw herself onto her bed as soon as she was safe inside her quarters after having slammed the door behind her. She then proceeded to scream into her pillow.
Urrr! Han Solo had to be the most annoying man she had ever met!
He had a way of pushing her buttons and getting a strong reaction out of her that no one else had. So perhaps she was being a bit harsh on him in this particular instance but that still didn't excuse the way he normally acted.
He was always walking around claiming he had loyalty to no one but himself. He'd said from the beginning he wasn't in this for the cause but for the money. He said multiple times that one day he'd have to leave in order to pay off his debt to Jabba the Hutt and he'd made no mention of what he was going to do after.
Perhaps Leia wouldn't be so upset and frustrated over it if it wasn't for the fact that Leia knew there was more to Han than that.
Sure Han 'claimed' that his only loyalty was to himself but actions speak louder than words he had put his life on the line multiple times for Chewie, Luke and herself. Sure Han said he wasn't around for the cause and only for the money but Leia knew thanks to General Rieekan that Han hardly ever got paid for his work and when he did it was certainly for a lot less than what he had earned or deserved. Plus Han didn't hide the fact that he hated the Empire just as much as everyone else in the Alliance. Not to mention that Han went above and beyond to help them and didn't just stick to what he was contracted to do. He'd helped with military and other operations, been her pilot multiple times and was currently helping them set up their new base.
He did all these things that proved to Leia that in his heart Han Solo was a loyal and kind man yet he still walked about pretending to be the same selfish smuggler she first mistook him as.
It was just so dam frustrating!
Perhaps this one time however she could admit, to herself at least, that she might have been a bit hard on him.
Han had been talking to some woman that Leia didn't know the name of, she just knew it was one of the pilots who was scheduled to help Han on his next supply run, and it was very obvious that the woman was flirting with Han. Leia, in her not quite rational mind, was also convinced that Han was flirting back.
She had stormed up to them and dragged Han off to the side before she proceeded to scream at him.
Leia accused him of being inappropriate and unprofessional. She also berated him for 'making a move' on one of the Alliance pilots.
Han had responded with equally loud screaming. Replying that he hadn't been flirting with the woman or 'making moves on her'. He then proceeded to accuse Leia of being jealous.
Their argument continued for what felt like hours and then ended the way a lot of their arguments ended. With them stomping off in opposite directions.
Leia hated fighting with Han. Not their usual back and forth banter or their bickering or their playful fight. Real proper ugly fighting. It didn't happen as often as everyone on base seemed to think it did but it had still happened a few times.
She especially hated fights like theses.
Leia especially hated this specific fight as she'd know as soon as she'd engaged in it that she was the one in the wrong. She had acted on a purely negative emotion.
Han had been right. She was jealous.
And she hated that. Leia also knew she had no right to feel that way. She knew she had no right to be jealous of that woman when Han had no more commitment to Leia than he did to the rebellion. She also knew that she had no right to be angry at Han even if he was flirting with that woman (which looking back Leia didn't actually think he was) not when she took every opportunity to try and convince him she didn't have feelings for him.
Leia did have feelings for him however. Really strong ones. She wasn't sure how deep they were exactly but they were still there.
Leia knew she had no right to be mad at that woman for trying to get what Leia wanted, a romantic relationship with Han, when Leia knew she herself wouldn't and couldn't have that.
Leia sighed. She definitely didn't want to keep wallowing in this for the rest of the night she had enough problems sleeping already thank you very much. She'd just go to sleep then in the morning she would swallow her pride and apologise to Han.
Leia crawled off her bed to change into her thermal pyjamas as quick as possible as to not let any of the cold air inside. She then put on her woollen socks, to protect her feet from the cold, as well as one of her shirts and her thermal jacket, for extra warmth.
Leia then slipped under her sheets and her blanket made of gillendown which had been a gift from Han. As Leia rested her head against the pillow she couldn't help but imagine how much warmer she'd be if Han's arms were around her as she drifted off to sleep.
Corscant - 8 ABY
Orowood Tower, Organa-Solo Apartment
Leia Organa-Solo continued to pant as she attempted to get her breathe back. She rolled over towards her husband Han, who was also attempting to recatch his breath, and rested her head against his chest listening to the sound of his heartbeat.
This was probably their best wedding anniversary so far. It was whole weekend together alone with no interruptions and consisted mostly of different forms of lovemaking.
Han began to gently brush his fingers through her loose hair as Leia similarly ran her own fingers through Han's chest hair.
Leia couldn't stop smiling as she leaned into Han's light caresses.
Leia was grateful they had quickly cleaned up after themselves when they're actives had left the bed and sometimes the bedroom not only due to Winter's visit tomorrow but also because Leia really didn't have the energy to get up anymore. She was actually pretty sure she wouldn't be able to move for another year.
Han reached down and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and moved one of his arms to wrap around her waist.
Leia almost felt like crying after five years of being together and two years of marriage they had such happy lives together. Leia didn't know why she used to fight so hard against it.
She had allowed her fear of loss to guide her and risked making the rest of her life completely lonely. After the loss of her home and family Leia had thought that that she had nothing but now she had found another home and family.
Of course she still missed Alderaan and those she had lost but Leia had stopped letting that loss define her. Her home was filled with reminders of Alderaan and her family so that she would never forget.
Because although she still woke up screaming from nightmares and she still hated the man who was her biological father she also woke up to Han's comforting arms and the knowledge of who her twin brother and biological mother was.
Leia felt her tears begin to fall and Han moved his hand to wipe them away gently.
Leia sighed and snuggled further into Han's chest and allowing the sound of his strong and steady heartbeat to lull her to sleep.
The World Between Worlds
On a bridge stood a father with his son and his daughter. The three beings looked into two portals showing Princess Leia at two different points in time.
"Are you sure this is a good idea father?" The Son asked. "I understand the benefits of sending one into the past but is it necessary to send the other into the future?"
"Yes," The Daughter answered for her father. "Not only will she gather the information that she needs but I believe that seeing the life she could lead may make her less scared of love."
The Son rolled his eyes.
"You and love sister," he scoffed.
"It powers the light side," The Daughter reminded him.
"And anger powers the dark side," The Son added.
Before his children could get into another philosophical debate like they used to when they were younger The Father decided to interrupt.
"We will need both to switch them," he said. "It is time."
The Father moved to hold his children's hands as the three moved into a circle and they called on all aspects of the Force to help them.
