Work Text:
Middle school was a terrifying prospect for someone who had never kissed a girl before, and Larry would never admit that he hadn’t gotten that far. There had to be some way he could fake it without getting caught. There was only one person Larry could trust with this deep, dark secret.
“Dude, it’s literally not that big of a deal.”
“Nick, you don’t understand. Right now, millions of kids my age have already had their first kisses. Maybe even more!”
“It’ll happen, dude! You just have to be patient.”
“I don’t have time to be patient, I’m not getting any younger.”
“You are not that old!” Phoenix shook Larry’s shoulder lightly to wiggle some sense into him. “Why don’t we just play some Xbox and get our minds off of it?”
Larry slumped a little. “I guess you’re right.” Suddenly, his eyes shot open. “Or maybe…”
Phoenix blinked. “Maybe what?” He startled as Larry grabbed both of his upper arms.
“All I need is a kiss, right? I don’t have to tell anyone who with!”
“Are you sure you don’t just wanna play Xbox?”
“Nick, please. All I need is to know how to do it. You’d help out a friend, wouldn’t you?”
Phoenix hesitated. “Okay, but don’t make it weird.”
“I won’t, just… Close your eyes.”
It wasn’t the worst thing Phoenix had ever experienced, and he felt a little embarrassed when he thought it ended too soon.
