Chapter Text

Regulus:

Regulus laid on his bed, facing the door. If he strained his ears, he could hear his mother’s yells. They were most likely directed at Sirius who, well, Sirius always seemed to find an excuse for an argument. He let out a sigh and turned over to try and block out the shouting. He used to worry for Sirius, used to wait at the top of the stairs, stretching his neck as far as it would go to check if his brother was alright.

But that had all changed now, everything had changed, ever since Sirius had grow up and go away to that boring school with his other friends and leave regulus behind this house.Sirius didn’t need other friends, he used to reason with himself, Sirius had him, and that was enough. But it was never enough, he was never enough. Sirius always wanted more, ever since they were kids.

When Sirius left for boarding school regulus often found himself sitting on his bed, perfectly still, staring at the wall for hours at a time, not feeling, not seeing, for it was Sirius that had filled his life laughter and adventure and when he left, he took that light with him. Walburga no longer had Sirius to blame of all the wrong doings she caused so she turned to regulus instead, he was not even aloud to breath the wrong way of his mother would get angry, regulus remembered her last rage, he still had the bruises.

When he was younger, he would pretend that they were like the normal families he read about in his books, that his father was away at work not bed-ridden, that his mother would never even dream about laying a hand on her two sons, that Sirius always played with him and never left to go to school in another country. He still remembers when Sirius would comfort him in the dead of night, telling him that they didn’t need to be a normal family. Still, life never goes the way you plan does it. Sirius eventually left the house leaving Regulus in line to inherit the black family fortune and business.

He we forced into uncomfortable meetings, forced handshakes and ties pulled to tight around his neck he felt as though he was going to choke. His mother had been an unmoving pillar through out all of it, ensuring he did not fall behind (read take a single day of ever), keeping an eye on assets and potential problems. She didn’t care for the wellbeing of her son, only the money that pool into his bank account every month. This was why he was about to board the plane to Los Angeles from London. He was meeting a potential business partner there.

To his left Barty was still pestering Evan about his seat, apparently sitting in the isle chair was ‘hell on earth’ and he should move immediately. Regulus could see there incessant arguing was bothering other passengers, felling slightly embarrassed he, with much difficulty, climbed over the two of them and made a beeline for the plane bathroom. Much to regulus’s dismay his master plan to avoid attention failed as out of the blue a hand grabbed his shoulder. Turning around he was more than ready to sneer at the person who was holding his arm when he was faced with a sight he couldn’t quite believe.

‘Sirius?’

‘Reg, I-uh what are you doing here’

Fixing Sirius with the must murderous stare he could achieve in his current state of shock he opens his mouth to retort back when the plane shook, the seatbelt sight pinged on, and a couple of passengers gasped. Then everything seemed to happen all at once, the tail section of the plane started to break of, the plane went into a sudden nosedive and the pilot shouted something incoherent before being cut off with another scream. Then, silence. And then, for reasons unknows to regulus, the sound of waves, crashing against the shore.

James:

Sand, sand and screaming, that was the first two things James registered when he was started awake from unconsciousness, he had not yet opened his eyes and a selfish part of him wanted to keep them closed, it was as if he didn’t open them he would not have to deal with whatever was out there, that he would be safe and protected staring at the inky blackness that was his eyelids. He would often deal with lifes problems this way, he knew it was bad but he had just accepted it as a character flaw he couldn't seem to change. Alas, he felt himself being shaken awake. Peeling open his eyes he was faced with a woman with her brow furrowed and her hands gripping his shoulder.

She noticed he was awake and began to ask him if he was ok.

‘Are you alright? Do you remember your name?’ she pressed him, ‘our plane has crashed somewhere in Oceania but I’m sure help is on its way,’. She seemed to be reassuring herself more than James.

‘I’m Lilly, Lilly Evans’ She smiled. 'we were sat near each other on the plane,'

There was silence for a moment before James realised, she was expecting an answer.

‘Hey, are you with me?’ She questioned, tilting one of her brows as her lip quirked up into the beginnings of a smile.

‘Oh, yes sorry uh my names James,’ He finally answered, mentally cursing himself for embarrassing himself already, ‘and yes I’m quite alright,’

She seemed to believe him and  stuck a hand out to pull him up, he now had a better view of his surroundings he started to make sense of his predicament, he could see the front of the plane sticking out of the sand, people were in various states of panic left and right. The plane was smoking and various bits of peoples luggage was scattered all over the beach. Two people hunched over by the sand caught his eye, two girls, one seemed to be kneeled over with shrapnel in her abdomen.

The girl, Lilly, had also seem and they both rushed over. However they were stopped by a man running into them, he was thrown back, as were James and Lilly and he looked up at them both with a confused but dazed expression.

'sorry bout' that one ,he supplied as an apology, names Peter Pettigrew,' his daze expression contorted into one of worry as he looked to the left of James at a woman with her leg trapped under part of the plane, he gave James and Lilly a quick nod before running over to help her. James turned his attention back to the two girls.

One of the girls looked over, she was blonde had what James identified as a thick Irish accent. Her eyes were full of dread and brash emotion as she called out to them, her voice shaking as she spoke.

‘It’s Dorcas, i- I can’t, please you have to help her the shrapnel’ She looked between the two as they stared at each other in frozen terror, James didn’t know anything about Lilly, but he wasn’t a doctor by any means. He Was about to shout for help when a tall man with long ginger hair ran over. He was carrying the planes first aid kit. He knelt by Dorcas and turned to the three.

‘I'm Fabian Prewet, i know basic medical training, can you tell me your name?' he asked the blonde girl. She told him it was Marlene and that the girl below her was called Dorcas, Marlene reached down to brush one of Dorcas's braids of her face before lovingly stroking the girls cheek.

Fabian cleared his thought, I’m going to have to pull the shrapnel out before bandaging her up, are you about to hold her down?’

‘H-hold her down?’ Croaked Marlene

‘I thought he were supposed to keep it in,’ supplied James, ‘that’s what they do in the movies’

‘Normally I would,’ the man grimaced, ‘but the shrapnel is crushing her internal organs, its vital I get it out.

From under him the girl let out a groan her hands scrambled for purchase as she tried to push herself up. In panic James and lily hastily pushed her back down, once they had guided her back to the floor they kept their hands against Dorcas, Lilly gave a nod to the man with a grimace on her face, and he reached his hand towards the shrapnel.

Remus did not think his life was or was ever going to be particularly exciting, it had always been pretty bland with nothing of note happening, as he laid on the grass looking up at the canopy of trees, he was beginning to revoke that statement. Hauling himself up he looked at his surroundings and his eyes rested on the the unconscious man living next to him. The man had dark black hair and pale skin that would surely burn in the hot climate of…

Remus then realised that he didn’t know where he was, he obviously knew he was in some sort of rain forest but a rainforest wasn’t exactly London, he had boarded that plane expecting paved streets and coffee shops, not the faint sound of screaming and green foliage surrounding him. Remus directed his attention into the man next to him. His eyes lashes were fluttering so at least he’s not dead, Remus thought to himself. He knelt down and tentatively started slapping the man round the face. after several awkward moments on Remus's end he eventually came round.

Remus had always been a very sickly child, he still was a sickly adult, so it meant in his youth he had found it hard to make friends, what with the inconsistencies of going in an out of hospital he had been hardly ever in school wich, to young Remus's surprise, had sparked jealousy in many of his peers, it was as if they believed they were worthy of just as much rest as Remus had been despite them being perfectly able bodied, it was almost as if they wanted his weak immune system and many allergies. Well, after an experience such as that in Remus's younger years you can imagine he didn't go out of his way to make friends in his adult life, he did have a few on-and-of ones in his teen years and in university but they fizzled out after about a year, they had been a convenience to each other, only existing as a sort of comfort. So, as you can imagine Remus had never really had to make small  talk with someone, especially someone who had been nocked unconscious from a plane crash.

The man was awake now and was looking up at Remus with, rather attractive, sullen dark eyes, Remus expected him to be nothing short of hysterical due to the current climate but he saw the man had a slight smirk on his face.

'hey handsome stranger what's your name,' slurred the man 'm Sirius like the star,'

it was only then that Remus realised the man, Sirius, might be slightly delirious from the concussion he sustained during the crash. Remus was no doctor but he knew he needed to get him water, and he needed it fast. Scanning his surroundings he saw some smoke from the plane in the air, he remembered being offered bottled water on the plane and with no time to search for a water source in the rainforest that would be his best bet. he then realised Sirius had pushed himself forward and had one hand latched onto his shin the other hand pocking it in an attempt to gain Remus's attention.

'its rude to no answer ya know,' Sirius scolded

Remus could detect the tiniest hint of French his the mans accent, now, Remus was already not prepared to deal with a delirious stranger, but a French stranger this must be hell. He curtly gave Sirius his name before attempting to prise the man of his leg. Sirius gave an indignant huff hand squeezed his arm tighter.

'look,' Remus sighed, 'you and I need water and shade and if you don't co operate I have half a mind to leave here on the jungle floor!'

While this seemed, at first, to scare the man into compliance, it did not at all have the effect Remus wanted,

'oh please don't leave me Remus, please' Sirius wined while, with some difficulty, hauling himself to his feet using Remus's shoulder had his support. Remus should have known that this man was unpredictable nevertheless, he gave a started yelp and almost fell backwards when Sirius jumped onto him. With with his arms and legs wrapped around Remus  Sirius must have looked akin to a koala.

'Alright Remus, lead the way' he declared. By now Remus was well and truly done with the useless arguing, lacking the energy the try and pull Sirius of him Remus accepted his fate and started to trudge through the jungle towards the beach.

James:

After helping out the two girls and ensuring there was no one else in immediate danger James stood back up and began to walk towards the wreckage of the plane, he hoped to salvage some of the wreckage inside and maybe find a few of his belongings. As he neared it he began to hear a rumbling sound come from it.

'Hey stop, get away from there!' someone yelled from behind him but it was to late.

He didn't see what happened he only heard it. A deafening sound sounded throughout the beach as the plane was ripped apart by an explosion, everywhere on the bay people screamed and ran for cover. James whipped his head around just in time to see a large chunk of the plane headed straight for him.

A deep searing pain pounded through his skull as he came round from unconsciousness for the second time that evening. Peeling open his eyes he found himself lying on some rags in a small makeshift tent held up by branches and random clothes. Looking to him left he saw a few other people lying on the 'beds'. He recognised a few of them from the plane or from the beach. To the left of him a woman was stirring, he recognised her as the lady peter had rushed over to help earlier that day he was glad she was ok. Reaching his hard upward he massaged his temples before pushing himself into a seating position, looking back, that  might have not been the smartest thing to do as his surroundings immediately started spinning.

Just then a couple of people including the man who had helped Dorcas earlier, Fabian, rushed into the tent carrying an unconscious body, James watched in part curiosity and part alarm as they laid the man down next to him and began attaching his leg to a splint. James winced as he saw the condition if the mans shin, it had been twisted at an odd angle and blood was staining his trouser leg. Once the people were satisfied with the mans condition they moved to another  patient in another part of the tent and James got a closer look at his face. He was pale with slightly curly black locks, the longest reaching just below his ear lobe, he sported impossibly sharp cheekbones and jawline and James felt an all to familiar feeling in his cheeks when he looked at the mans face as a whole, he was like a roman statue, he was like-

'having fun there?' a man said, startling James out of his thoughts. He then realised how odd he must have looked then, staring at an unconscious persons face. Turning around in shame he was faced with a man with sandy hair and an accusing look on his face. Letting out a chuckle the man moved to sit on his heels and held out a hand to James.

'My names frank,' he said 'you were hit by a piece of plane in the explosion but there doesn't seem to be any major damage,' he reassured' at least according to Fabian,' he added on with a sly expression, but the playful glint in him eye told James he was trying to lighten the situation.

'I'm James' he answered as he shook franks hand, 'how long have I been out?'

'about three hours' answered a woman, 'we've mostly managed to restore order now, by that I mean we've made a couple tents and everyone's stopped screaming'

A loud bang echoed from outside the tent, turning to them the woman rolled her eyes.

'I better go check that out. I'm Mary MacDonald by the way,'

'I suppose I better go to,' said frank getting to his feet, 'I wouldn't get up just yet, rest here for another half hour or so,' he advised James, exiting the tent

Remus:

A loud bang echoed throughout the jungle and saw some debris fly into the air. He identified  them to be a part of the plane and turned to Sirius. Sirius had sobered halfway through there trek and ,much to Remus's delight, was no longer demanding to be carried and was instead trailing behind him.

'were getting close' Remus supplied,' the plane must have landed on the beach and I can hear waves from here'

Sirius had fallen unexpectedly quiet and instead of answering Remus he was staring towards the direction of the beach.

'something on you mind?' Remus queried as he knocked his shoulder into Sirius

That seemed to startle Sirius out of his thoughts has he looked up at him.

'my brother was on that plane' He offered as an explanation before walking ahead through the jungle

Remus quicken his pace to walk next him. He couldn't imagine what was going through Sirius's mind at that moment, having never had siblings himself Remus couldn't exactly understand Sirius situation but he could empathize with him, worrying for the life of a loved one was never ideal. Offering him a comforting smile they walked on in a comforting silence.

It was just nearing nightfall when they reached the beach and were met with a strange but comforting sight, groups of people were huddled around fires exchanging conversations and small tents made from the passengers clothes were dotted around the bay. He walked forward and peered into one of the tents, or, attempted to as just as he was about to walk in a man exited it and it resulted in them pushing each other over. Brushing the sand of he glared at Sirius who had began hysterically laughing and got to his feet, offering his had out to help the man up. He had rich brown skin and was quite muscly, Remus worried if he had offended the man for a moment but his thoughts were soon put to rest as the man started to laugh as well. Remus then realised he had found himself in quite an awkward situation, He was surrounded by two laughing people but Remus couldn't seem to understand what was so funny. The man eventually stopped laughing and brushed the sand of himself.

'That must be the fifth time that's happened today,' the man said, breathlessly,' I'm James potter,'

'Remus lupin' He supplied,' and that's Sirius,'

Can we please go sit by a fire,' Sirius moped ' it bloody freezing,'

James chuckled and held his arm out' lead the way,'

James:

They went and sat around a fire with a few others Sirius liked the look of. There was A few people he had met, Peter, frank, Mary and Fabian but he had also been introduced to Gideon, Fabians twin, Ai Chang, Amelia bones and Benji Fenwick, they had all been on the same Plane, flight 168, going to Los Angeles from London. Now, James didn't exactly think he was a geography master but he was pretty sure there weren't many oceanic tropical islands on the Atlantic ocean. Everyone was still in a state of shock at there predicament but for at least that night they had a place to sleep and in the morning frank assured them that they would start trying to find a way to signal to the rest of the world that the passengers of 168 were still alive.

Things seemed to be winding down as conversations came to a close and people started departing into the tents for the night, James was obviously aware how horrible the situation they were in was but it was almost comforting as he looked around the beach, people who had never spoken a day in there life all coming together to survive, helping each other and working together. Combined with the sound of the sea against the shore it was an, admittedly peaceful atmosphere.

Still, James should have know by now life wasn't going to be giving him any breaks any time soon. It happened just as he was standing up to sleep in one of the tents, from inside the jungle a Flock of birds suddenly flew from the trees, the loud squawks startled everyone on the beach as they all turned to look at where the birds had flown from and what had scared them so badly, James strained his eyes and could make out movement in the trees, others seemed to notice to as well as they got there feet and started pointing it out to other passengers. James soon realised, to his horror that whatever was making the trees move was coming towards them.

He turned to look at Remus who's face looked as just as confused as everyone else, however that confused expression soon turned unto one of terror as whatever creature was in the jungle let out a sound. A sound James couldn't quote place but, never the less was the most scarily horrific sound he had ever heard, a deafening fog horn type sound pierced throughout the jungle followed with what sounded like shrill screams and the turning of gears.

The passengers seemed stunned into silence, and , it seemed, so was the jungle, there was no occasional cheep of birds now, it was silent. until one girl let out a yelp and started running in the opposite way that the creature was coming, a few others followed her suit but most of the passengers, including Sirius and Remus stayed put, awaiting the arrival if this creature. James could hear it getting closer, closer, he could hear his own heartbeat getting louder, and louder, the creature was close, it was coming , it sounded as though it was right on top of james. Until, nothing. No sound of a horn, no moving trees, no sounds of startles girls. Nothing.

Everyone turned to each other in shock, at a loss for words. No one dared to say anything for fear of alerting the creature again until a girl who's names James remembered to be Alice croaked,

'what, what was that thing?' she questioned with a shaking voice. No one answered of coarse and the beach fell into silence again until frank, the voice of reason, spoke up.

'well whatever that thing is its gone now,' He reassured,' there's nothing more we can do than gets a nights sleep and figure out what to do in the morning,'

The people around James murmured agreements and tentatively retired to the tents. James was no fool, he new no one would be getting any sleep tonight, but as the darkness slowly enveloped the beach he felt himself being allured by the comfort of slumber and soon enough he was sleeping soundly along with the rest of the passengers.

Still there was a nagging thought at the back of his mind that something wasn't right about island, he felt it deep in his bones, and he knew everyone else could to. And he couldn't have been more right, although the beach was peaceful deeper in the jungle it couldn't have been worse, for 'they' were approaching, and no one would be able to stop them when they arrived.

Chapter Text

James:

It was morning again far to quickly in James's opinion. It felt as though he had only just closed his eyes when he was woken by the sounds of people outside and the light streaming through the tent. It seemed Sirius had also been woken by this and, whilst James had to admit Sirius did look angelic throughout the day, in the mornings he was more akin to a grumpy cat. Letting out a sigh James hauled himself up and stepped out of the tent. He looked around and saw frank discussing somethings with Mary and Alice, they both had concerned looks on there faces. Seeming to notices James's gaze frank beckoned him forward.

'Everything alright?' James asked hesitantly,

Frank gave him a grimace before answering.

'Well, as we've already established were on a tropical island in Oceania,' he said,' and the problem is the rescue services wont be looking for us in Oceania, they will be looking along coast of America,'

'but that's thousands of miles away from where we are!' James said, alarmed

'we know,' said Mary, 'which means we cant rely on them to find us, we will have to send a signal out ourselves,' She explained

James was about to ask how they were going to do that when allice answered his question for him.

'The cockpit of the plane is somewhere in the jungle,' she clarified hopefully not far from here, it will have radio equipment the Benji might be able to salvage, we're putting together a team to  search for it,'

'I'm coming with you,' James said immediately. It was so important to him to get of this island, his parents were waiting for him, his life was waiting for him.

'We thought you might,' Said frank, 'can you ask around and recruit more people, its safety in numbers around here,'

James nodded, it was left unsaid that the safety they needed was against that thing in jungle. James was sure not many people would want to track through that after what happened the night before. Unfortunately his suspicions were confirmed, most people turned him down with an awkward smile and a half-assed explanations. Still James through he had managed to wrangle together a pretty good team. It was him, Frank, Alice, Remus, the twins, Lilly, Marlene and Dorcas, Mulciber and peter. The only reason Sirius was not coming was due to the fact he was still worried about his brother and was going to continue looking for him. Mary, Benji and a few others opted to stay at the beach and keep everything in order until they got back.

waving good bye to Sirius James Started to trek through the jungle. It had been a peaceful walk so far the group was mostly quiet and were content to listening to the sounds of the jungle and to focus all there energy on locating the cockpit. James began to let his thoughts wonder as he looked around but he was brought  back to earth by a hard roughly grapping his shoulder. letting out a yelp of surprise James turned around found himself face to face with Mulciber. His face was contorted into one of amusement and anger as he looked around at the rest of the part, who were watching the situation cautiously.

Mulciber let you a laugh before taking his hand of James and focusing his attention onto frank.

'You, your the leader of this operation right' He questioned. However he didn't give Frank time to answer as he spoke again.

'What are u doing letting this guy on your little mission, don't u know you cant trust brown folk, I wouldn't be surprised of he was the one who made this plane crash in the first place,' He declared, cocking his head towards James

'What did you just say,' Remus yelled advancing on Mulicber but Dorcas got there first, she decked him right in the jaw and he fell to the ground with a sickening crunch.

Mulcibers amused expression contorted unto one of rage and he rubbed his jaw. For a moment he didn't seem like he was going to do anything until he pushed back his jacked and pulled out a hand gun. Peter let out a gasp and retreated into the trees as Mulciber slowly but menacingly got to his feet. he pointed his gun a Dorcas and was about to spew more of his bullshit when. A roar sounded from behind him.

James moved forwards in an attempt to take the gun from Mulciber in his confused state  but he stopped in his tracks when he saw just what had made that roaring sound. A polar bead was stood there, in the jungle, its jaw was gnarled and it  looked ready to attack . Everyone went silent, no one dared to more a muscle. Then Mulciber snapped out of his trance and pressed the trigger on the gun. He missed.

This provoked the Polar bear into attacking as it pounced on Mulciber racking its ling claws down one side of his face. James raw forward and grabbed the gun. He turned and gave the gun to the person on his left that turned out to be Fabian and gave him an nod. James would have shot the polar bear himself he being vegetarian made him hesitant to kill any animals, even murderous ones, although for some reason James never seemed to have that hesitance when killing humans. But that was a story for a another time . Gideon advanced and, with surprising skill shot the polar bear in the neck.

Mulciber pushed it of him and got to his feet breathing heavily. He was large claw shaped gashes all over his body. In the back of James's head a voice said, serves him right, and whilst he agreed, it was not the most pressing issue at the moment was Fabian that spoke up this time, he reasoned that since Mulciber was no longer able to walk through the jungle Peter and Remus should help him back to the beach. They both agreed and as they were leaving Remus saw Fabian murmur something to Remus, he wasn't able to catch most of it but it was something along the lines of keep and eye on him.

The rest of the group continued to trek through the jungle, according to Alice she saw smoke coming from this area last night. Everyone was acting odd around James now, and he did now appreciate it one bit. Frank kept patting him on his back and Lilly kept sending him apologetic glances. He didn't know what they had to be sorry for, it was Mulcibers fault, and besides, he was used to it. Growing up in a white conservative area was hard on young James and it definitely affected his self esteem in his teen years. He was thankful for the fact that his friends stood up for him but now he was just wishing someone would break the silence.

Thankfully Marlene soon spoke up, asking about there line of work before they got on the plane. As it turns out Frank was a teacher, as was Alice, only frank taught secondary and Alice taught primary. Dorcas said she worked in a tattoo parlour but James had already guessed that from seeing the spirally flowers stretching from her arm to her neck inked on her body. James could also see Marlene's name tattooed on her wrist. Fabian had already established that he was a doctor and Lilly said she owned a chain of bookshops and Gideon, like James, worked in the military. The once awkward silence dissolved into friendly chatter as they started to to get to know each other when Marlene pointed out something in the distance.

James squinted through the trees and could just about make out the cockpit of the plane. The plants of the jungle had already begun overtaking it as James could see ivy creeping up the sides. The party rushed forward first in delight and then in eagerness to get into shelter as it immediately started to pour with rain. they all clambers into the the plane eventually and stood around catching there breath. However there relief was short lived as when they looked at there surroundings the cockpit was full of dead bodies. Horrible and mangled that had organs spewing out of them, some were missing arms of legs, other missing their whole torso. James could make out the pilot slumped over in his chair. James felt lucky that he was used to the sight of corpses as when he looked around at some of the passengers faces they all looked like they were going to be sick or were going to faint.

Swallowing his fear James walked towards the control panel followed by Fabian and then Dorcas. They surveyed the damage and found that, while it had sustained some fall damage, the pilots radio was mostly intact. Alice was just about to start taking it apart so they could bring to back to the beach when that sound happened again. A horn across with a scream ripped through the jungle closely followed with the crunching of gears.

Sirius:

When James and the others left he began to look around the beach for any sign of his brother. But, was that man really his brother? When Sirius ran away he always had hope that regulus had managed to escape to, that he was out there living his own life, making his own decisions. But one look at the brief case adorned with the black family crest that regulus was wearing told Sirius all he needed to know.

IT was nearing the hottest part of the day and whilst Sirius was wearing sun cream that he had managed to salvage the sun was beginning to get unbearable. Opting for a short break in one for tents Sirius found a sight he was not expecting. His brother was laying on his side, leg wrapped in a splint, looking oddly peaceful as he slept.

Sirius felt a wave of guilt wash over him, he had been so caught up in his own life, so happy he had gotten out of the hell-hole that was his house he had neglected to think about regulus. Well, that was a lie, he thought about regulus every day, but he always imagined regulus as young, as the age when he and Sirius had been close and regulus hadn't been brainwashed by Walburgers ideas. It was as though he didn't want to imagine regulus all grown up, becoming his won person without Sirius to guide him. But now, out of all he possibilities, all the planes in the world, regulus had been on that on with him, sitting a mere four isles away, and now sleeping a mere two feet away from Sirius.

It must have been fate, Sirius resolved, the fact that they had met one the plane, survived the crash and landed here, on this island. Although there were some things that didn't quite add up. Why was regulus on a regular British airways plane, why not a private jet or first class? Sirius thought for sure that Walburga would have made sure Regulus was on the the best plane money could buy. But still, Sirius was just glad that regulus was, mostly, alright and , admittedly, Sirius was a little glad that his brother was on this island with him, it meant that they might have a chance to repair there relationship, to become brothers again.

He knew he hadn't  been the nicest to Regulus in the years leading up to him running away and that regulus would want nothing to do with Sirius when he woke up and Sirius wasn't sure if he would even like Regulus, what if he had become an elitist prick like the rest of his family? But still, Sirius couldn't help but hope that maybe, just maybe, he and regulus would have a chance.Moving of his knees and into a more comftable position Sirius seated himself nest to regulus's bed. Was it a bed ? Sirius supposed with the lack of supplies comftable bedding would not have been easy to acquire. Still as Sirius looked at the position he was laid in he felt sorry for him.

Resolving to look through the wreckage of the plane to find something more comftable for Regulus Sirius exited the tent and started to walk across the beach towards the plane wreckage. As Sirius was walking he took the moment to appreciate the beauty of the beach, Crystal clear blue waters, golden sand, beautiful weather, Sirius couldn't help but feel at peace, feel like the island was offering him comfort and harmony. He had become so transfixed by the waters he didn't notice the gaggle of three people stumbling out of the trees at first. After doing a double take he rubbed his eyes and tried to figure out who they were.

'Sirius, a little help over here!' one of them yelled. Sirius identified the voice as Remus and rushed over to help them. They were carrying a man he couldn't quite recognise into the medical tent. He was bleeding profusely and had a large gash down one side of his face and one on his torso that was bleeding profusely. Peter ran to find Mary leaving Sirius and Remus alone.

'what happened to him?' Sirius asked, 'Is anyone else hurt?'

Remus chuckled,' everyone's fine Sirius, Mulciber provoked a polar bear and got attack but Gideon shot it,' There was a comically awkward silence as Remus looked at Sirius's face for a reaction.

'I'm sorry what?' Sirius asked, disbelievingly.

'I'm as surprised as you are,' Remus admitted, 'but that's not the only reason we had to bring Mulciber back,' He said, grimly.' He first tried to pick a fight with James and when Dorcas tried to stop him he pulled a gun he had found in the wreckage on her,'

Sirius had so many questions but the one at the front of his mind was just who on board owned a gun and why hadn't they spoken up about it? He was about to ask Remus if he knew when Mary came running in with another woman he didn't recognise. He watched as she poured water on the wound before wrapping it tightly with a gauze. By now Mulciber had been out for a while and Mary recommended they let him wake up naturally so they all exited the tent. As they were leaving Sirius snuck a glace at regulus but he was still sleeping peacefully.

Remus explained to Mary and the woman that had introduced herself as Ai what happened and Sirius noticed the two girls exchange a look of sadness and a what he thought was anger when peter said about how Mulciber had threatened to shoot Dorcas and James. Sirius wasn't sure why but he resolved to ask them later has just then the same  horrific sound that they had heard last night sounded throughout the jungle, and it had come from the direction that the party that had set out to find the cockpit were.
