The disastrous life of Midoriya Izuku, a hybrid.

Summary:

"So... " Tsukauchi begins "Is your strength always that brutal?"

"I'm a hybrid," Izuku says, playing with the small ball that Katsuki had given to him while they were outside the room. "A mixture of supernatural beings. It's evident that it's going to be brutal."

Tsukauchi sighs "Yes, we know that- ("why do you ask then?") ... But we need to know if you can control your superstrength or we should send you to an additional course to help you know how to control it"

"I know how to control my strength!"

"Midoriya, you ripped off Nomu's head-"

"And I saved the day! Your point?" Izuku looks at him blankly with a sly smile on his face.

——

An attempt at humor that follows Izuku's life as a hybrid, trying to protect his supernatural identity and crushing a villain who can rival the Boogey Man.

Chapter Text

Here's the thing.

Izuku knew that he was not a normal human.

Well, considering he lived in a world where everyone has all sorts of weird (but amazing) superpowers or mutations, what was happening to him was definitely not what would be considered... normal.

And no, he doesn't have any kind of superpower that turns him into an alien or makes him shit rainbows and cakes.

You see, it turns out that many years ago, before the first quirks appeared there was a... small community of supernatural entities.

Yes, supernatural .

You may wonder why that, considering the time in which he lived, was not normal.

Well, because they were just fictional creatures.

Izuku use to thought; 'hey, but superpowers were also something fictional and then were real, why did they consider that supernatural creatures didn't exist?' well, he had a point, but since there was never any proof of the existence of these beings beyond rumors it remained just that, something fictional.

And that was good for such creatures because they could live a quiet life demonstrating their special abilities without being the center of attention beyond "Oh god, your quirk is cool!".

There weren't many creatures, not beyond werewolves, vampires, or witches. Or at least Izuku had only knowledge of those four.

How did he find out about this? Well, that's a really... complicated question to answer.

At the age of four, Izuku did not manifest any quirks, didn't spit fire or manipulate the flames of the stove. His skin did not generate any resistance to flames or allow him to harden like a dragon's scales.

No, he didn't manifest anything at all.

And that was okay because his parents still loved him and loved him the same way they had since he was born. Katsuki, his friend since he was in diapers was a different case, he avoided him for a good time and it was only after his mother had spoken to the blond that they spoke again. Izuku really felt it was unfair that he didn't have a quirk, but that didn't make him feel sad, no, he felt sad because both his mother and father apologized to him for... well, for giving him a complicated life. It turned out that people without a quirk were a bit (very) discriminated against in society. The school became his least favorite place during those couple of years.

But everything changed at the age of 10 when Izuku inadvertently tasted some of his father's blood when the man cut himself with a knife while making dinner.

He remembers the feeling of his canines biting and somehow getting bigger, his senses somehow became sharper and he could hear everything, absolutely everything. From the cars in the distance to his father's heartbeat. Also the smell...

It didn't take long for Inko to appear in the kitchen and put some kind of barrier between Izuku and his father after seeing him in the eyes. The rest of the night passed like a blur because immediately after what happened his body suffered from fever.

The next morning they had a family meeting where Izuku found out a couple of things.

The first was that his mother did not have a very weak telekinesis quirk. No, his mother was a witch .

Yes, like the ones in Hocus Pocus.

(Inko flatly refused to do tricks like Abadacadabra or Open Sesame to Hisashi's disappointment).

The second was that whole world of supernatural creatures and the third was that even his mother didn't know why he was... what he is. Although his mother seemed to recognize the 'symptoms' because she later admitted that she was very relieved that it only took a little blood, when Izuku asked me why, both his father and he had all the color drained from their faces.

It turned out that, years ago it was necessary to commit a murder to activate the werewolf 'curse' and it was also necessary to taste the blood of a human to awaken the vampire inside Izuku by feeding him. Both beings, once human, were cursed by a witch (or wizard, no one will ever know) with immense power, and what was necessary for activation was blood. Fucking fantastic.

(Inko didn't say anything that day but she was really worried because the first vampires in all of history were created with a black magic spell, a spell Inko didn't know and contrary to popular belief, they didn't need to bite someone to turn them, instead they had to give his blood to a human and then kill them, so there was no way Izuku could be turned or born a vampire, much less a werewolf. At least not naturally.

Be that as it may, Inko loved Izuku and would not leave him alone. She also had nothing to worry about since the supernatural community was really quiet these days anyway).

The ten-year-old Izuku cried that day vowing that he was never, ever going to hurt his father. Hisashi just laughed and wiped away his tears so gently that Izuku and Inko almost burst into tears (again).

So here he was, Midoriya Izuku, a... hybrid. And no, unfortunately not a hybrid of some animal, in case you haven't figured it out yet.

He was a freaking hybrid between a werewolf and a vampire.

If Izuku ever gets questioned about this he's not going to worry at all, he has about fifteen escape plans and another ten or so plans to change the conversation because even he doesn't know how he ended up being... well, what he is. Both his father and mother were neither of the two creatures, so how the fuck was he born a hybrid?

Anyway, it was okay, being a mix of two incredibly strong supernatural beings had its advantages. He was faster, stronger, and more agile than the other kids.

He has other kinds of abilities, this included walking in sunlight where most vampires can't and he's able to transform into a wolf without the influence of the full moon (the first time he did it scared the shit out of his father).

He also had this kind of super speed that was incredible, he could move almost at the speed of light. His sense of smell, hearing, and reflexes was also improved and although it was sometimes hard to sleep with the noise of cars in the background or the baby crying two blocks away from his house, he managed to get used to it (and eventually, turn it off).

Although it was great, it also had its disadvantages (which were very few) such as having to drink human blood at least every three days or preferably having a daily dose of blood, just as a precaution. Thanks to Kami that Inko was a nurse and could bring bags of blood home. On top of that, he couldn't enter other people's houses until he was invited and although it was okay because he didn't have many friends beyond Katsuki, it was a horrifying experience to have to 'earn the invitation to the house'.

And if that wasn't enough, at 13 he discovered something else.

He was immortal .

It was a very funny experience and would definitely be a good anecdote for when he grew up, it all happened because at Christmas Izuku was helping his father to put Christmas lights all over the roof of the house and inadvertently slipped on a small puddle left by the snow. The world went black but after about ten minutes Izuku got up with his father beside him crying his eyes out, needless to say, that day his father took him in his arms and didn't let go. When he told his mom, it turned out that she already knew, as his mother cast a spell that delayed the end of his growth, which hopefully would stop at 18. Both he and his father acted indignant that this information had been kept from them and cried some more as they had to clean the blood off the pavement.

There were a couple of other things Izuku realized about being a vampire/lycanthrope. His lycanthrope and vampire sides were very different from each other and sometimes it was hard to deal with both. While his lycanthrope side made him feel (and look) like an excited puppy with lots of energy and an intense desire to have his hair or face stroked, his vampire side kept giving him those urges to taste his classmates' blood and sometimes it was really hard to restrain himself from biting them.

Registering all this as a quirk was not difficult at all, they registered it under the name 'Hybrid' and simplified the explanation of what it was. Izuku's file now marks that his quirk allows him to be a mixture of fictional supernatural creatures (it had to be made VERY clear that they were fictional).

And having addressed the first point, this is where we move on to the second reason why Izuku stopped considering himself normal.

He knows he is Izuku Midoriya, son of Hisashi and Inko Midoriya, and is a fifteen-year-old teenager ready to attend AU.

So why did he have someone else's memories?

They were not clear memories. Sometimes in dreams, the same people would appear, however, their faces were blurry and he couldn't hear when they spoke because it felt like he was underwater. He knew they were memories because they were not meaningless dreams, each one of them was set centuries ago, sometimes Izuku saw himself in peasant clothes or clothes from a specific century, in some he was surrounded by houses made of straw and wood, in others, he was in elegant castles and always, always there were the same blurry faces (sometimes some of those faces disappear and are not present) and Izuku was sure that there was no way he would have developed feelings for any of those people if he did not know them.

(Although he was a little curious about it he didn't say anything to his mother, he was afraid the woman would find a way to make them stop. Izuku didn't want to stop dreaming about those people, not when he felt so familiar with them.)

Sometimes, when he looked at his parents there was a strange feeling of longing in his chest. At other times, when he looked at Katsuki he felt so nostalgic that it was sometimes difficult to hold his gaze.

And now and then, his mind would whisper names he couldn't remember hearing anywhere, but they were so familiar that Izuku almost thought he knew someone named that. But out of all that, Izuku lived a normal life.

Well...

It was all pretty normal minus the immense desire to protect his family and the people most precious to him.

And along with that desire to protect, came jealousy.

Oh yeah, Izuku was possessive as shit .

He noticed it when a senior high school girl tried to call Katsuki 'Kacchan'. The blond wasn't happy about it and wouldn't let her do it, but that didn't stop Izuku from using some of that 'alpha energy' he had and scaring her just a little bit.

(He clearly wasn't aware of how the temperature in the room dropped a bit, neither of the way the moment his own eyes shone, but hey! the girl didn't go near Kacchan anymore).

The second test to confirm his possessiveness was after that when a random man in the supermarket tried to flirt with his mom and it took him many deep breaths not to pounce and bite the man. What he did do was use just a little bit of such 'alpha energy' one more time.

Izuku wouldn't have minded if it had only been on those occasions, occasions where anyone would feel that way. But how the universe said 'you know what, I think his life is too boring' it turned out that no, it wasn't only going to be on those occasions.

Because Izuku went from calling Katsuki 'Kacchan' once in a while to call him that all the time, Katsuki certainly didn't seem to mind, but it didn't stop there, he took him by the hand whenever they went somewhere and to Izuku's surprise, Katsuki looked really comfortable even when he hugged him in front of everyone to calm that part of him that demanded to prove that Kacchan was his.

His mother told him it was because maybe his wolf considered them as part of his pack.

And god, Izuku really, really wanted to think of that as cute and maybe nice, but Twilight and those 'imagine with...' fantasy videos on HeroTube didn't help at all.

Both of his parents and Katsuki didn't have a bad reaction when Izuku brought out his possessive side, on the contrary, they even seemed to encourage it. And well, who was Izuku to refuse such a show of support?

Putting aside the whole issue of his situation, Izuku was a normal teenager.

He had freckles on his face and all over his body, like- really , all over his body , his green colored hair was curly and he was shorter than most of the boys in his class to his displeasure. His eyes (according to his mother) were big and bright, lighter green than his hair and although he looked skinny, he actually had a pretty athletic body, with muscles here and there. Unfortunately, his face still had a bit of baby fat on it because his cheeks were somewhat round.

His father said he was a portrait of his mother and his mother said he looked almost exactly like his father except for the pallette color.

He was a really energetic boy when required, sometimes (most of the time) he was quiet and shy, he preferred to keep a low profile in keeping with his physical abilities so he wasn't really popular. Occasionally he could go from being the spitting image of a Golden Retriever to being a little shit, very confident with himself, sarcastic and a bit passive-aggressive with some people (people who did something they shouldn't have, mostly) but truly lovely, patient and friendly, Kacchan said he was too generous for his own good and yet he didn't have many friends, not because he wasn't able to bond between boys his age but because he firmly believed that Kacchan was more than enough in his life and apparently, Kacchan thought the same as the blond called no one else his friend besides Izuku.

And like any normal teenager in a world like his, he also wanted to be a hero.

Just now, he was looking at his reflection in the hallway mirror as he arranged his hair once again, the AU uniform fitting his body and figure perfectly (what? he liked to show off his good physique). His parents were in the living room with a camera in hand and he was sure Katsuki was cornered on the couch being showered with cuddles by Izuku's father.

"I'm ready!"

"It's about damn time, nerd!" Katsuki growls from the couch.

"Izuku! Come, quick, we have to take the pictures before you're late!"

Izuku rushed into the living room with his super speed, in an instant he was at Katsuki's side, throwing one of his arms over the blond's shoulder. Katsuki grunted and without much difficulty broke Izuku's grip and did the same to lock him in a headlock and tousle his hair. This was something Izuku was very envious of the blond because Katsuki was fucking strong and it didn't seem to matter that Izuku had an advantage by having a strength upgrade in his system, he always managed to outdo him.

"Kacchan, I had just combed my hair!" He complained, bringing one of his hands to his own hair to try to fix it.

"That shitty bush you have for hair was going to get messed up sooner or later, Deku" He couldn't see Katsuki's expression but he was one hundred percent sure he was smiling.

And the worst part was that he was right.

"Alright, guys. cough it up!"

Katsuki didn't let go of Izuku and reluctantly tried to look presentable from the position he was in. Now he was sure the blond was smiling, that fucking bastard.

The sound of the camera capturing an image came within seconds and his friend pushed him away, feeling slightly offended by the brute force used against him, he stuck his tongue out at the blond who waited until his parents weren't paying attention to pull his middle finger out.

"It's time for you to go," Inko says, turning around and walking over to the boys to kiss them on the forehead.

"Good luck, boys," Hisashi says, smiling and reaching over to ruffle both of their hair (ignoring Izuku's complaint, his hair was already a mess and he still dared to make it even more of a mess?).

Izuku hears Katsuki grunt and mutters a somewhat embarrassed 'see you later' at the treatment he had just received, which makes the curly-haired one chuckle. After saying goodbye to his parents himself, both boys leave the house.

"Ready, Kacchan?"

The aforementioned boy snorts and simply watches him with one of his eyebrows up.

"What the fuck are you asking, nerd? I was born fucking ready" Izuku stifles a chuckle.

Satisfied with the answer, he took Katsuki's hand and intertwined their fingers, the blond squeezed the grip without much force and hummed with a slight curve to his lips, seemingly content. Izuku felt a smile of his own spread across his face and without waiting any longer, he started walking towards the train station to get to the UA.

(Sadly, it seems that in this life he won't be able to have a little peace of mind either).

Notes:

So this is a new fanfic idea that I lately have on my mind!
You know, since I'm not able to write serious bullshit I just gonna make this a 'funny' story! :D

I still don't have certain things clear, like whether I should give Izuku One For All or just let him be. Should I make other characters vampires or werewolves? Maybe put more of The Originals than just supernatural entities and memories?

We're gonna see it eventually! And If you have any suggestions I will be happy to read them.

I have to write KPADH so, see u later! <3
