He's been laying cuddled to Aziraphale for the whole day actually. The angel didn't know what caused Crowley's current state but stayed with him nonetheless.
The demon was wearing only some shorts because he wanted to feel his lover's soft clothes.
From time to time he let out a quiet sob that was immediately soothed with Aziraphale gentle hand brushing slowly his hair and rubbing his back. He didn't calm him with words. He knew that for Crowley touch worked much better.
Why was he crying though? Nobody really knew. Even Crowley himself. Many reasons and no reason.
He felt bad for making Aziraphale lay with him.
He felt bad for not doing anything productive that day.
He felt bad for being lazy.
He felt bad for feeling nothing.
Because he did feel nothing. The whole day. Neither sadness nor happiness.
Hold on.
There were a few things he felt. The softness of Aziraphale's shirt. The gentle touch of his angelic hand. The heartbeat that made Crowey sure that he was still in the bookshop.
He felt his lover's presence and that was everything he needed. His presence as he was reading a book and just being for Crowley. Hardly ever had somebody been for Crowey. But Aziraphale was. Despite the sobs, the silence, the doing nothing.
He just was present.
