"Mian Mian, I don't know what to do with Lan Zhan anymore!" complains Wei Ying to his bestfriend who is a woman with a husband and a child.
Currently, they are drinking at a bar after Wei Ying asked for his friend to accompany him. And the man was complaining his heart out about what was happening with his husband.
He has tried everything he can to convince his husband that they are not doing anything wrong. But Lan Zhan is seemingly possessed by whatever mischievous demon there is, who is currently trying to break them apart. But if that demon is persistent, he is more persistent than anyone in this world so he is not about to give up just like that.
Even with that, he feels like he is at his wits end because he has tried to seduce him, whatever kind of seduction he tried to do and even swallowed up his pride in the process. He also used his smart mind and mouth that never fails to amaze his husband but it turned out that it was Wei Ying who got outwitted in the end!
Lan Zhan even went to a certain place every night of every day after he returned from work and he even brought with him several friends from there and they all went and read this weird book then discussed what they had read among themselves. And suddenly, they all start to speak in this funny language like they were all drunk or something! Wei Ying is sure that his husband is being brainwashed to become a cult.
He knows all this because he decided to go back home knowing better that a problem will be solved together, rather than away from each other. Sadly, Lan Zhan is not cooperating well with him.
"Why don't you try to make him jealous then? Maybe he will wake up from his stupidity of doing this to you." says MianMian, sounding a little bit angry for his friend.
"Make him jealous, huh? MianMian, you're a genius!" Wei Ying says with a wide grin on his face.
Lan Zhan arrived in their house hearing another man's voice laughing with Wei Ying. His heart suddenly skipped a beat and started to walk fast inside the house only to see that his husband, or maybe gonna be ex-husband soon, laughing closely with a pretty boy about Wei Ying's age or even younger than him.
"Haha I didn't know you're funny Wen Ning. I thought you're just a shy guy who keeps to himself mostly." says Wei Ying and makes a touchy gesture towards the man as they sit closely on the sofa.
Suddenly, jealousy flared up Lan Zhan's heart. But still he tried to compose himself.
"Good evening, gentlemen. Wei Ying, I see you brought a friend."
His husband suddenly looked his way looking a little surprised. "Lan Zhan! You're home! This is Wen Ning by the way. Isn't he pretty?" Wei Ying says and makes a clingy gesture towards the said man.
Too close! And did his husband just compliment another man??
"I see. Do enjoy your evening, gentlemen." is the only thing Lan Zhan said before he went upstairs.
Though that is what he said, in truth, he was greatly troubled by the fact that maybe, Wei Ying is planning on replacing him with that Wen Ning guy. Somehow, he feels as though his heart is torn into pieces.
On the other hand, Wei Ying gritted his teeth as he looked at his husband climbing the stairs without so much reaction after he tries to make him jealous. Feeling like he can no longer stand how Lan Zhan treats him, he stood up ignoring the other man with him and followed his husband upstairs.
Enjoy your evening? Really Lan Zhan? That's all you gotta say?!
Wei Ying went towards the guest room where Lan Zhan is currently laying his head every night instead of their shared master bedroom. He stayed in another bed and left Wei Ying all cold and lonely every night so all the latter could do was drink all night until he sleeps. Sometimes, he can't help but bother Lan Zhan at the guest room and tries to seduce him there. But his husband is as though a steel, unable to be moved or shaken. Unlike before when Lan Zhan is the one who initiates mostly once they were both lying in bed together.
He opened the door aggressively and saw his husband kneeling just beside the bed. He can't help but want to mock him at that but he couldn't. Because no matter what, he loves his husband.
Lan Zhan who heard the door open, raised his bowed head and opened his closed eyes to see Wei Ying enter the room. "Wei Ying, is there something-"
"Don't you care about me anymore?" says the man cutting him off.
Lan Zhan's eyes widen in surprise at the question. "Wei Ying, that's not-"
"Don't you even care if I go with another man and leave you? Huh Lan Zhan?"
Lan Zhan gape at that. But in the end, he said nothing, only looking down. Wei Ying can't help but laugh bitterly at that.
"Lan Zhan, what has become of you? Did you love me just so you could treat me like trash afterwards? If so, then maybe you should have just given up on me when I was kidnapped 13 years ago!" the man said in anger as his eyes sting.
"Wei Ying, I.. " says Lan Zhan as he stood and went to where Wei Ying was. "I am very sorry. But I love you. That's why I am doing this."
Wei Ying shook his head as he sniffs. "I don't believe you. Cause if you really love me, you woudn't treat me like this!"
"Wei Ying, I have learned that loving someone sometimes means that you're gonna hurt them for their own good. Just like how a parent disciplines a child. And.. and Wei Ying, listen to me.." Lan Zhan says and cups Wei Ying's face when the man shakes his head a couple of times and does not look at him.
"But I'm not your child! I'm your husband for Pete's sake!"
"I know, Wei Ying. I know."
"Then why the hell are you talking about disciplining me like I'm your child?!"
"That's not it, Wei Ying. I'm not treating you like a child. It's just that I see you being broken and I realized that I can't do anything for you to heal..Wei Ying.." Lan Zhan said when his husband withdrawed from him.
"Don't follow me anymore, Lan Zhan. You want divorce? Fine then. I'll give it to you. I'm out of here." says Wei Ying and went out of the room.
Suddenly, Lan Zhan felt a looming fear crept in his heart. Wei Ying is finally saying yes to the divorce. But why is his heart feeling greatly unhappy about it?
