Summary
Morax did not have sex with mortals because he cared. And he surely did not have sex with mortals because he loved them. Sex was simply just an activity, a pastime, something to dull the mindless toil of living an endless life. The burning sensation, the heat of the moment, the overwhelming passion that clouded all judgement temporarily.. It was almost like being human. Almost.
But when it was over, when the deed had been done and he was no longer Zhongli, the mortal man, and he became Morax once again, it was only natural to quietly slip away. Morax never loved the people he slept with, and therefore nothing obligated him to stay.
Rumours spread like fire across Liyue Harbour, and it didn’t take long for those with naughtier minds to hear of the well-spoken, grand and esteemed gentlemen who buttered up women and men alike in order to sleep around. It took even less time for word of this to reach the Fatui currently stationed in Liyue, much less the Eleventh Harbinger, Childe. And if Childe liked anything, it was a challenge.
