Hyunjin ran into the court, his forehead dripping with sweat that he mindlessly wiped in a haste with his wrist band as he slowed down and took his time to calculate the players positions.
Two of his teammates tightly guarded inside the 3-point line while the ones outside was also occupied with their own opponents as well. Hyunjin huffed.
1 minute.
He quickly formulated a tactic in his head, his eyes finally going to Changbin, the present captain of the varsity team and his head-to-head adversary at the moment.
He doesn't know why, but somehow, he and the captain have an undisclosed dispute despite not having a proper conversation before. It wasn't something physical or verbal, but it was a thick displeasing tension that only rise up whenever the two of them are in the same room or breathing in the same space.
As much as possible, Hyunjin avoids the other male. He's not the one to seek out a fight, so as much as he possibly could, he tries his best not to cross paths with Changbin, just for good measures. But having the same circle of friends makes it quite hard for him sometimes. Like in that moment.
Hyunjin had long quit basketball. He'd left it behind him after graduating from highschool, opting to focus on more important things as he went to college. But there are times he and his friends have a friendly match, just for fun and somewhat a way of catching up as they don't have that much time to meet and hang out that often anymore. All of them too busy with their own stuff, making it hard for them to see each other even going to the same university.
That's why when his Minho-hyung had texted him to meet up and have a game with them, he didn't hesitate to agree. Making haste to go to the court as soon as his classes had ended, only to know that Changbin, the very man he tries not to have a close proximity with, is going to join them which had never happened before.
I mean, of course, he's the captain of the basketball team anyway, why had he not thought about it before merrily skipping his way (no) in the direction of the gym?
He should know better.
But it was already late to back out and it would be rude to just suddenly leave and excuse himself, faking a fever or something.
Hence, there they are, Hyunjin going head to head with the captain in what's supposed to be a friendly match that has heightened into a more serious one because of the one sided competition Changbin wants to win for whatever reason unbeknownst to him.
Hyunjin bent down, dribbling the ball between hands. He made a gesture of advancing out to the right, and Changbin quickly follows, also stepping to the right with his eyes attentively watching Hyunjin's movements, determined to beat his ass.
But Hyunjin isn't the one to back down without a fight, and surely, he wouldn't lose.
Hyunjin quickly stepped back, and then did the same stance of running to the left, and he couldn't help the slight smirk that had plastered on his lips as Changbin took the bait. The other's defensive position faltering as his whole body tilted to the left, and Hyunjin took that moment to pass the ball on his right hand as he slipped his way by the other boy, leaving him dumbfounded for a brief second before the other chased after him, which would be too late.
Ten seconds,
Hyunjin reached inside, still dribbling the ball as he ran. His teammates doing their best to make a way for him, and even failing to do so, Hyunjin swiftly dodged all attacks with ease as he went under the ring and jump, flicking his wrist and successfully counting the basket as the time turned zero.
His team winning tightly 23-21, a mere two points that Hyunjin took a pride on as their university varsity team consists of good and skillful members, especially the captain that even got scouted and had an offer to play for a national team that games airs on national TV.
He heard the crowd cheering, (it's actually baffling to know that they somehow managed to gather a lot of people to watch their practice match, but Hyunjin only shrugged at that.) while some are disappointed, clearly supporting the Captain's side of the team.
Hyunjin smiled towards his highschool friends that were also in the team as they ran into his direction to exchange a high five with him.
He heard Changbin making a grumbling noise before his other teammates called on to his name, the other having stormed out of the gym with the other members following after him.
"Sorry about that." Hyunjin muttered to his friends sincerely. He didn't think for the supposed friendly match to be that intense to the point Changbin will show clear displeasure to his lost. He hopes it doesn't turn anything between him and the captain more sour though, because that would be a pain to deal with.
"Don't worry about it, he must be having a rough day. He'll come around." Replied Jisung reassuringly.
Chan, Jeongin and Minho nodding in agreement at the latter's statement.
"Well–"
"Excuse me." A deep voice with a chirpy tone cut Chan mid-sentence, drawing all their attention to the most breathtakingly beautiful boy Hyunjin had ever seen standing a few steps from where they had formed a circle.
The ethereal being dressed neatly in a pink skirt that was too high to be demure, with a blemish-free white sweater that has a huge neckline that was lolling to the side, exposing his defined collarbones and a fair amount of skin on his shoulder, completed by a pair of white high-heeled boots.
Oh god, please tell him he's just seeing things because he can definitely make out a pair of white wings flopping behind the boy.
He must be crazy.
The other was sporting a cherry smile as he made his way towards Hyunjin and unceremoniously circled his arms around the taller male, "Hi!" The shorter one beamed, confusing the shit out of him and everyone else that could see them.
Hyunjin was frozen on his feet, not registering well what's happening until he felt a pair of soft strawberry-flavored lips pressing on his own, and before he could even react, the other boy has already pulled away, hugging Hyunjin tightly, not minding the sweat and all kinds of smell that had clung to him due to running around in the court, bumping into different people.
"Stay still, and just pretend you know me. I have something interesting to show you." The shorter one whispered in his ears, his breath that had kissed the skin in Hyunjin's neck made goosebumps rise on his arms.
Without waiting for a response, the other had pulled away, taking a towel out of his bag and damping it gently to Hyunjin's forehead and his neck, wiping the sweat.
"I... Wow."
Hyunjin's eye was quick to find the owner of that very familiar voice, and he found Seungmin looking at him with a hurt expression as he drank the scene before him.
"Fucking wow, Hwang Hyunjin." Is all his boyfriend said before thundering his way out of the gym, leaving him with a parted mouth as he tried to call for him had it not for the small boy in front of him who had held his wrist tightly, preventing him to take action.
"Bro, what the fuck?" Chimed Minho, who was looking at Hyunjin with silent judgement, as they all know he had a boyfriend and that's definitely not the stranger who was hanging all over him at the moment, but the one who rushed out just a few seconds ago.
Hyunjin let out an exasperated breath, not knowing what exactly he should do. He knows he should be chasing after Seungmin and begging for the other to hear him out and explain the shit out of himself, but the other part of him –and a bigger one at that– was begging him to stay still as the stranger had told him and see what the other wants to show him.
For some reason, he had an inkling that it was something really important.
It was a huge and strong tug on his chest, and he could only trust his guts. Placing his fate in the palm of a beautiful stranger.
An angel in his sweater paws and high-heeled boots.
"I'll talk to you guys later, alright? I'll explain. But for now, we need to go." Hyunjin swiftly took his bag pack off the floor and swung it on his shoulder then pulled on the other male on the direction of the door, his hands curling tightly on the other's wrist.
He's confused, and a lot of question was swarming in his mind, almost making him dizzy. Who is this person? How did he find Hyunjin? And what could he possibly want to show him that his pestering guts desperately wanted him to see? This is not just a mere curiosity. He had a feeling that it's something he's been needing to know. Something really important.
This better be worth all that bullshit because he swears to God, he's gonna ruin this little one's life had he only playing with him, and wreaking chaos in his life for no good reason.
With that being said, the pained look on Seungmin's face kept replaying in his mind and it was setting an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach.
Will his boyfriend ever forgive him?
But... Does he even want to be forgiven?
"Who are you and why are you doing this?" Still, Hyunjin asked, pushing the boy in the secluded area of the hallway, in between a file of abandoned lockers.
The other pulled his hand out of Hyunjin's hold, slightly pouting as his eyes landed on the red patch on his skin the taller's grip had left there, "I'm Felix and I'm doing this because I don't want you to look stupid any further."
"What, huh?" Hyunjin's forehead knitted, the other's statement doing nothing to satiate his growing confusion.
The shorter blonde just sighed, "Just follow me and see for yourself. I figured you won't believe me solely from my words anyway, so it's better if I just show you. They should be there in around this time, especially with what you did just a moment ago." Felix rambled, taking Hyunjin's large hand in his as he walked into the direction of the building that's been under reconstruction for far too long but never really having finished. "You look hot playing, by the way. I'm appointing you as my boyfriend from now on." He adds casually, like it was nothing and it was merely his decision to make.
"What are you even saying?"
"That you're mine now." The other boy simply retorted, "But let's talk about that later, baby, let's clean up these pests for now, so we could finally be kissy-kissy, guilt free."
Hyunjin didn't have the chance to respond as the other dragged him up into the building and in a particularly dark corridor that not even the sun rays could help in brightening up because of the whiteboards, chairs and more lockers that had piled up on the corners, hindering between the sun and the other side of the window from meeting up.
A little deeper into that direction and he could make out some noises coming from the farthest room there is in that floor.
"Who–"
"What the fuck did you like about that arrogant fucking bastard? He's no-nothing compared to me." A voice hissed breathily along with a familiar slamming of skin into skin.
"I n-need him –ah! hyung– at-at least until fi-nals. Fuck, that's really good, please, more!" Another voice had squeezed out through heavy breathing and in-between moans, and Hyunjin felt all blood drain away from his body.
He can already make out who those people were, but he needs to see it for himself; a masochistic way of confirmation but a much more dependable solution to make sure he's not just hallucinating and his brains isn't just fucking with him.
Hyunjin bravely twisted the knob as they reach in front of the door, and without hesitation, pushed the old wood open revealing a scene that was so interesting, it had him spilling small cackles rolling out from his tongue.
The two stopped, Seungmin's bent body suddenly straightening as he tried to cover his body in a poor attempt, visibly mortified of seeing his supposed boyfriend in his little rendezvous with the basketball team captain, who also had a stunned expression across his face.
"B-babe... Babe, please let me explain." Seungmin let out shakily, his hands extending in the air in an attempt to hold Hyunjin who's still standing unmovingly on the doorway with his knuckles white as his grip on the knob turned more intense from his bubbling anger.
"Explain what exactly?" Hyunjin muses, contrary to the seething rage simmering on his veins.
The other boy shifted uncomfortably to where he was standing before his eyes went back to Hyunjin, "I was just playing around!" Seungmin provided pathetically –like that was the best excuse his cute little pea-sized brain could give him– his eyes popping out and a little bit glossy with tears Hyunjin can tell he was trying to hold. "Yeah, tha-that's it, Hyunjin, it's -it's not like you're not messing around too, right?" The other went on, his eyes going over Hyunjin's shoulder where Felix's small figure was standing a meter away from him.
"Oh, please, I'm too pretty and precious to be just a play thing." Felix rolled his eyes sassily, somehow effectively melting a tad bit of Hyunjin's distasteful feelings.
"Shut up, bitch!" Seungmin interjects, hazel orbs hardening towards Felix's direction who just snickered in return, "No! Don't touch me," He then slapped Changbin's hand away from him when the captain tried to calm him down by putting a hand on his trembling shoulders. "H-hyun, please... Please listen to me, i-it won't happen again." The other pleads, taking a few steps towards his direction that made Hyunjin take a step back.

"You know what, Seungmin? I always saw you as someone bright and intelligent. Someone who's passionate, one who took pride in all his achievements, and even though I can see that you were kinda burned out lately, I still thought you will overcome it. I just need to be there for you, and I was! I was always there. I've always supported you and helped you in any way I can... If only I had known you were just using me." Hyunjin's voice laced with utmost disappointment, but his face doesn't show any emotion. His handsome face was devoid of anything, it's almost scary. "Never have I thought you were just making a fool out of me." The taller sighed, "But anyway, good luck with your finals. I hope Changbin could help you study all the subjects you're having a hard time dealing with, especially bio-chem. And let's try our best to not bump into each other in the future. Good bye." Hyunjin bids before turning his heels around to leave that godforsaken room that had him feeling suffocated despite the huge space and a massive room for air.
"Let's go, Felix." Hyunjin reached out for Felix's hand and the shorter male took it without hesitation, and perhaps the simple gesture had triggered an uncalled-for jealousy in Seungmin hence suddenly showering them insults that Felix doesn't have the time of the day nor the patience to just let it slide.
"You're really leaving me for that whore? That's who you will choose over me? Oh come on. Look at him, Hyunjin!" The other male gestured to his expressive get-up, "I bet he's already got a handful of guys screwing him behind your back,"
The desperation in Seungmin's voice got Felix laughing loudly as he once again turned around to face a fuming red Seungmin, with a quiet Changbin beside him whose face had fallen flat in displeasure seeing Seungmin's behavior.
"Really, coming from you? In that state?" Felix raised his brows towards the other's direction, his eyes scanning Seungmin's almost naked body, with his opened button up shirt to only cover his upper half.
Seungmin made haste to vainly cover himself, pulling both sides of the shirt across his body, like that would erase the sickening image of him and Changbin fucking in that room with him bended on the desk.
What a disbelievingly stupid guy.
"And no, honey, I'm nothing like you." He adds, a disdainful grin curving on his lips, "I have plenty of men wanting to have a taste of me, yes, but I'm no market place, pumpkin. Unlike you, I have a taste."
And as though to prove on his point, Felix then went on his tiptoes, inserting his hands inside Hyunjin's jersey shirt, feeling the sweaty pack of muscles under his palm. The taller raven-haired just gave him an amused smile before catering to his petty whims, reciprocating the freckled boy's kiss with the same intensity with his own hand finding their way on the small of Felix's back.
Felix made sure Seungmin watches the whole exchange, until Felix completely moved away with a satisfied grin towards Hyunjin who just kissed his nose in return.
"I hope you had the fun you wanted, little dummy." Felix chimed, his gaze darting back to the two people across the room, drawing a furious blush from Seungmin, "But I also hope you know better than to be a pest and try to win Hyunjin back, because this gorgeous man–" Felix pointed out at the taller male who seemed enamored by Felix's little attitude sprawling in front of him without a hint of pretense, "is mine now, so back. Off. —What a pity you decided to be a cheapskate and fuck around, look at what happened, you missed your chance." The younger then pulled on Hyunjin's hand once again, interlacing their fingers together, "Good luck finding a man that will treat you like a queen you really don't deserve like this foolish man did." Hyunjin's face pulled into a frown hearing the direct slander, in which Felix only winked with a shrug before pulling Hyunjin out of that stuffy place with two semi-naked people arguing as they left.

"Hey, stranger." Hyunjin called on their way out of the abandoned building in the pretense of being under renovation.
Felix groaned, "Don't call me that," He replied sassily eliciting a small cackles from Hyunjin.
"Sorry, I forgot you're already my boyfriend, my bad." The taller let out cheekily making Felix roll his eyes as he kept on walking in the direction of the parking lot.
"Yeah, you're right. I am now your overly hot and extremely beautiful boyfriend. I know it's hard to believe that you're dating someone like me, but please try your best to get used to it."
Hyunjin erupted into laughter at his silly little antics, and Felix couldn't help but relax in those pretty sounds. It's nice to hear Hyunjin laughing amidst all the dreadful things that just happened.
Felix preferred him that way.
He thinks it's the most beautiful sight to see. A whole view that could pass as the 8th wonder of the world. A key to the world's healing. The breath the earth needs.
Hyunjin and his stupidly charming self is enough to save two planets, and Felix isn't even exaggerating.
"Does my overwhelmingly hot and beautiful boyfriend want to have dinner with the ordinary me?"
"Oh my gosh, I change my mind. Please just cry in the corner or something." He whined, thankful that he can already see his baby, a yellow BMW in his line of sight.
"To be honest, I don't feel sad like that. I'm already expecting it somehow." Hyunjin retorted in a more serious tone, but his words are light, making the bubbling concern inside Felix to promptly disappear, "Surprisingly, I'm not even that much hurt. If anything, I'm more... Relieved actually."
Felix stopped in front of his baby's door, facing Hyunjin with raised eyebrow, "And why is that?"
Hyunjin shrugged, calmly carding Felix's stray locks to the back of his head, tucking some of it behind his ears. Felix's little heart fluttered further inside his chest, "He's not that good at hiding it, you know? I've seen a few text notifications and occasional marks on him that I clearly didn't give. I just turned a blind eye on it to avoid drama and because I don't know what to do. As you already know, I'm not good with confrontations."
"You're an idiot." Felix stated bluntly, rolling his eyes for the umpteenth time that day as he opened the door of his car and slid inside, beckoning the other male to get on the passenger seat as well.
"I have a lot of question for you, Felix." Hyunjin says while buckling his seatbelt.
"I have a lot of answers for you, Hyunjin." He says truthfully, promising himself to be the most honest to Hyunjin –the guy he had secretly admired since freshman year– and tell him what he wants to hear.
"Oh to have an ethereal being who was also a smart-ass as a boyfriend. How lucky could I be?" Hyunjin teased, earning a flustered shifting from Felix which made the taller smirk. "But we should probably talk about it some other time, though it's important that you know that I appreciate what you did for me today. Thank you, Felix." Hyunjin says, smiling at him.
Felix starts the car, turning his eyes towards his lovely boyfriend and his genuine words, "Don't mention it," He let out quietly, making the engine of his baby roar, "I already have you as a payment, so keep your thanks to yourself."
A hearty laughter had set off yet again from Hyunjin's lips and Felix took that opportunity to speed away, hoping that one day, the other would also love him the way he does him.
One day...
