Work Text:

“Heh, is that all you’ve got?” Jason stood his ground and Tim adjusted the staff in his hands.

“Not even close.” Tim swung his staff toward Jason’s face and made a connection, unfortunately, Jason swiped his leg out at the same time and knocked Tim off his feet knocking the breath out of him.

‘’Shit,” Jason swore. “I’d ask if you were okay, but I think you might have broken my nose.”

Tim looked up at him and couldn’t help but feel bad. “Sorry, did not mean to do that.”

Jason wiped away the blood and then rolled his eyes. He reached his other hand out to help Tim stand back up. “Wanna get some tissues or something?” Tim stared another moment. “Earth to Baby Bird.”

“Yeah, let me, uh, med bay.” Tim rushed over to grab the things he would need to clean up Jason’s nose and then turned back to where the other man was now sitting on a chair in the med bay. “Okay, let’s get you cleaned up.”

Tim worked on cleaning up the blood and getting a splint across his nose to stabilize it.

Jason sighed and then winced in pain. “Okay, what’s wrong?” His words came out slightly off because of his nose.

“It’s nothing,” Tim replied automatically.

“Baby Bird, you can barely look at me.” Jason brought two fingers to his chin to lift his head up and get Tim to look at him. “What’s wrong?”

Tim bit his lip before finally answering. “Your eyes, they’re green.”

Jason furrowed his brow clearly thinking. “Oh… you’ve never seen me right after I’ve gotten hurt.”

Tim shook his head. “I don’t think so.”

Jason took a moment to answer and Tim went back to cleaning the blood off of Jason’s hands. “Talia thinks its some side effect of the pits, I heal a lot faster, but my eyes do the glowy thing.”

“Oh,” Tim whispered. “That’s weird.”

“Oh, I know. But it’s nothing to worry about. B didn’t believe it at first, but he’s gotten used to it now, I know you will too.”
