“Witchy, what are you doing out here so late?”
Wanda turned slightly, spotting Daisy’s sturdy frame approaching quickly to where she was sitting. Despite being almost a mile away from the compound, Daisy always had a knack for finding her.
Wanda leaned into Daisy’s warmth when she finally sat down in the grass next to her, “I couldn’t sleep.”
“So a trip to the pond in the middle of night was your solution?” Daisy chuckled, leaning back on her hands comfortably, “why didn’t you come find me?”
“I keep you busy enough with my nightmares,” Wanda sighed softly, and had she been looking at the woman instead of the moon's reflection on the water, she would’ve seen the concern flashing in Daisy’s eyes, “But it wasn’t a nightmare tonight.”
Daisy licked her lips, knowing from similar past conversations to wait Wanda out but it was clear that no explanation was going to come. Alright. Plan B then.
“This is a good spot,” Daisy gently nudged Wanda’s shoulder, “I won’t lie, witchy, I’m a little hurt. Have you been holding out on me this whole time?”
“I’m sorry, darling,” Wanda cracked a little smile, laying her head on Daisy’s shoulder, her hands still in her own lap, “You know I would never.”
Daisy’s teasing smile softened at the pet name Wanda called her so often—there were a few more she used in her native tongue, Daisy understood a few of them since Wanda started teaching her Sokovian.
“You don’t have to talk about it right now, I’m here whenever you’re ready.”
Wanda hummed, “Tell me a little more about space?”
Daisy blinked, not surprised by the topic change—Wanda usually did this when she didn’t want to be the focus, and Daisy was more than okay with spewing facts about the stars. It was a good thing that tonight was a warm one then.
For a good while, Wanda listened to Daisy talk, appreciating that Asgardian tilt that came out every now and then when she was getting excited about a particular part of her story. Somehow, in the middle of it, Wanda and Daisy switched positions, neither could recall how or when. Wanda now sat between Daisy’s spread legs, laying back against her low enough that Daisy was able to rest her chin on top of Wanda’s head, her arms wrapped around the witch. To keep her warm, of course.
“There’s this one planet, in the Andromeda, it’s one of my favorite places to escape to when I need a minute to regroup,” Daisy sighed, her eyes focused on the water in front of them, “It’s cold there, icy really, but I have a home there…near some springs.”
“That sounds comfortable, almost like a hallmark movie.”
“A little bit, yes.”
Daisy smiled, familiar with the term—if it wasn’t sitcoms with Wanda, it was romance movies—namely hallmark and lifetime. Daisy was quickly educated in both by the woman in her arms.
“The entire planet is covered in ice, but beneath the ice is where the excitement really starts. It’s cold, but not as cold as you’d think really. The locals there are primitive but harmless.”
“How’d you find it?”
“It was an accident, literally,” Daisy chuckled, fondly recalling the panicked screeches from her crew when the engines seized—too overwhelmed from their near trip through a black hole, “It took three weeks to get off that damned planet, but by that time I didn’t want to leave.”
“Wow,” Wanda gasped when the older woman began purposely thinking of those fond memories, letting Wanda see for herself, “It’s so beautiful there!”
“It is, and I found a new trade route that only few know about. It’s been under my protection for two decades now. Maybe one day…I can take you there?”
Wanda’s fingers tightened around Daisy’s, “Yeah?”
“Yeah, I mean,” Daisy cleared her throat softly, subconsciously pulling Wanda closer, “I know I said I’d take you to Asgard soon, but I kind of want to…just…take you with me next time I leave?”
“Take me where?”
“…Everywhere.”
Wanda was too shocked to say anything for a beat, but she suddenly sat up as she turned around, wanting to look at Daisy directly, still holding her hand.
“You really want me to come with you?”
“You know I don’t say anything that I don’t mean.” Daisy smiled, her tone just as quiet as Wanda’s even though there was nothing else around them, “I…I’d like it if you’d come with me, because I don’t know how long I’ll be gone the next time I need to go—and it’s okay if that’s a lot to chew on. Midgard is your homeworld, afterall, and I’m not expecting an answer right now. I just, I guess I wanted to put a card on the table.”
Wanda studied Daisy’s face closely, the intensity of her stare enough to scare a grown man, but Daisy thought it was a turn on. Wanda knew that she could have read Daisy’s mind and she would’ve let her, but Wanda didn’t. Because everything she needed was there for her to see. Slowly detangling their fingers, Wanda reached up and cupped Daisy’s face. She closed the short distance between them, and Daisy licked her lips just before Wanda captured them with her own.
Balancing them both with one hand, Daisy wrapped the other around Wanda’s waist, scooting closer to the woman as she deepened their kiss. When oxygen became an issue for them both, Wanda pulled away first, her forehead against Daisy’s, though the warrior's eyes were still closed.
“I’m assuming this is a yes?”
“A big yes,” Wanda whispered, “Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me, I wanted this too, remember?” When Daisy finally opened her eyes, Wanda’s breath caught—the heat in her darkened eyes coursing through her.
She suddenly became aware of how close they were, flush against one another—and outside. Sensing her hesitation, Daisy forced herself to calm down, “Uh, we should probably…”
“Shut up.”
Daisy had little warning as Wanda pushed her onto her back, but she was quickly distracted by Wanda’s soft lips. Daisy ran her hands further up Wanda’s torso, swallowing Wanda’s soft moans and Daisy smiled into the kiss—yeah, she could get used to this.
“Three suns? Holy shit, how big is that planet?”
“Sovereign is a collective of planets ruled by one woman backed with a higher council.” Daisy shook her head, “She’s a menace, but most are wise enough not go knocking on their door unless they’re stupid.”
“Have you ever picked a fight with Sovereign?”
“Not yet.”
“Scared?” Wanda smirked, teasing and Daisy pinched her ticklish side. Though Wanda had nowhere to run trapped between Daisy’s strong legs.
“Not at all, number one rule about pirating is to always have leverage over the person next to you.”

“I don’t get it, so you just hit the ball back and force? With a weapon?”
Wanda snorted, “A tennis racket, detka, and it’s a good sport. I was pretty good at it too.”
Daisy kissed her cheek, “What else did you play?”
“I was in the drama club but that was all. Our school wasn’t the biggest so we made the best of what we had.”
“Ah, theatre! Loki and Thor did that as well, but Thor, and don’t tell him this, wasn’t that great. He tripped over his feet and forgot his lines all the time,” Daisy snorted, shaking her head at the fond memories, “I bet you were great though, yeah?”
“Nope. I was just as clumsy, if not worse, I set the curtains on fire once—but it wasn’t my fault!” Wanda grinned, unable to help it, Daisy’s laughter was infectious, “I didn’t know that stupid lantern was real!”
“I should probably up my fire protocol on the ship before I’m out of one, yeah?”
Wanda slapped Daisy’s leg, “Oh shut up, it was a long time ago, besides—I got the school to close for a week. Highlight of the semester.”

“Your hair is so soft…”
“Hmmm, thank you,” Wanda snuggled further into the warm body behind her, damn near completely in Daisy’s lap. Neither knew how late it was now, probably very late judging by the cool air.
The nocturnal wildlife living around them, providing a soundtrack to their peaceful bubble by the pond.
“Wanda? Are you asleep?”
“Just resting my eyes, ssh.”
Daisy didn’t buy it for a second, “But if you fall asleep, who am I going to talk to? This frog?”
“Mhm, kiss it, you might get a surprise.”
Daisy sighed heavily, jostling Wanda slightly, “I’d rather kiss you instead.“
“If I give you a kiss, will you shush?”
“Two kisses and I’ll give you an hour.”

“I will admit…Midgard has beautiful sun rises.”
Wanda hummed, smiling softly but her eyes were still closed as she laid in Daisy’s arms, safe in her embrace.
“Mhm,” Wanda turned her head away from the bright sun rays, hiding her face in the crook of Daisy’s neck, “Are you ready to head back to the compound now?”
Daisy laughed lightly, “No, I really like having you all to myself.”
“We can’t stay out here all day—I let you keep me out here all night. Now I’m pretty sure I have bug bites on my ass by now.”
“Alright, alright,” Daisy snorted, she was sure that she did as well, “Do you want to get breakfast with me on Saturn?”
Wanda pulled back, eyes popping open, “What?”
“We can sleep on the way there, it’s an hour or two—”
“Ssh!” Daisy closed her mouth, but her amusement was obvious, Wanda ignored it, “Breakfast? On Saturn?”
“Yes.”
“Saturn? The, wait wait, Saturn the planet?”
“Yes, Midgard hasn’t figured it out yet but the Saturn you all see? An illusion. Come with me. I’ll show you.”
“B-but, I don’t have any clothes packed yet and the others will—”
“Wanda, do you trust me?”
“Yes, of course.”
Daisy pecked Wanda’s soft lips, unable to resist before pulling away to stand, helping Wanda to her feet and keeping her steady as life came back to them. “It’s my turn to take you on a date now—I promise I’ll bring you back at a decent time.”
Wanda blushed, rolling her eyes, “I’m not worried about you kidnapping me.”
“It’s not kidnapping if you’re willing, is it?”
“Shut up. I guess, I’m just nervous.”
“About us?”
“No…no,” Wanda shook her head firmly, much to Daisy’s relief, “I don’t want to slow down the scary Pirate Queen. I know you have an image and I don’t want to mess it up for you.”
Daisy grinned but she didn’t laugh, though she was very much amused by this, Wanda was too sweet sometimes but Daisy knew there was a nasty temper lurking beneath the surface. She’s clocked it a few times during their training sessions. Others found it concerning, Daisy thought it was charming.
“I have a feeling they’ll be just as scared of you as they are of me sooner than you think. You’ll start to worry about me making you soft, heh. Now, shall we?”
