Chip tapped his fingers gently against the railing of The Albatross. It swayed gently, it was calming. The winds weren't harsh. Chip had taken notice to his fish friend also still awake. Gillion was by the head of the ship, staring up at the stars. Chip let his gaze rest on the triton. He watched his movements a soft smile displaying on his face. He used the palm of his hands to push himself away from the railing as he walked over to his friend. Gillion's ears seemed to twitch as he turned his head over to Chip. Chip could get lost in his eyes.
"Hello, Chip." Gillion smiled as he looked at his friend, and Chip chuckled softly as he smiled back. He walked over and stood next to him. He noticed Gillions tail start to swish back and forth like it was a dog's tail wagging.
"Hey, Gill." Chip smiled as he turned his gaze to where Gillion had been looking. "Doing some star gazing?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at the triton. Gillion nodded, and then he smiled.
"Yes, I am." Gillion said softly as he looked up at the stars again. "I had been meaning to ask you a question though, Chip." He looked over at the human, who stared at him with a raised eyebrow.
"And what would that be?" Chip asked as he turned more towards Gillion. He noticed Gillions face plastered a more darker blue on his cheeks.
"I was wondering if you could teach me to dance?" Gillion asked as he looked at Chip, who blinked and he laughed a bit.
"You never learned how to dance?" Chip asked with a small snicker. Gillion shook his head and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"No, Chip I never did." He said his tone confused as he looked at his laughing friend. Chip looked at Gillion, and he just smiled as he chuckled softly. He sighed with a smile.
"Yeah, of course I will teach you Gill, what kind of a friend would I be if I didn't." He said, chuckiling. "Here, let's go to the middle of the deck so it's easier." Chip said as he took Gillions hand into his own. Gillion followed Chip to the middle. The night sky was calming. Chip stopped, and he turned to look at Gillion with a smile on his face. Gillion shared the smile.
"Okay, so I'm gonna put you hands into position and then show you." Chip said, and Gillion nodded. Chip chuckled as he took Gillions hands, he gently ran his fingers against his clawed fingers then he moved his hands to his wrists and moved them so they were around his neck. Then he put his own arms around Gillions waist. They stared at eachother for a moment, both silent.
"Now what are we supposed to do?" Gillion asked, and Chip blinked for a moment but he smiled and he looked at Gillion.
"We dance." He said as he started to lead the dancing, Gillion followed along, almost tripping and knocking them both over. They shared a laugh. Gillion slowly started to get better, and not trip every couple steps. His tail was swishing, and he was laughing and smiling. Chip stared at him, mesmerized. He stopped moving, and Gillion stopped too after a moment. He looked at him, and he tilted his head just the slightest.
"Chip, why did we stop?" He asked, and Chip broke his stare his breath hitching for a moment as his cheeks flushed red.
"There's something else to dancing that we haven't done." He said. Gillion raised an eyebrow, "What is that?" He asked and Chip brought his hands up to Gillion's face, and he kissed him. Gillion seemed taken aback. Though, he kissed back.
Chip pulled away, looking at his fish friend who still seemed shocked. He smiled and gently pat his cheek, which he noticed as a darker blue.
"A kiss." He said in a quiet voice. Gillion looked at Chip suprised. He stood their for a moment, his tail still swishing
"Does..that mean we are.. together?" He asked. Chip looked at him raising an eyebrow.
"Together?" He asked as he put his hands on his shoulders.
"Like.. boyfriend and girlfriend?" Gillion asked, and Chip started to chuckle a bit as he smiled but he also blushed.
"Gill, it's..it's boyfriends. And..I don't know, do you want it to be like that?" Chip asked as he looked at him. Gillion thought for a moment, and then he nodded. He smiled
"I do." He said. "Boyfriends.. boyfriends." He smiled widely, and Chip just chuckled, his heart slightly melted at the excitement from Gillion. He always found Gillions excitement or confusion on oversea things kinda cute.
Chip pat his back a bit, and he yawned. "we should go down and sleep, Gill." He said and Gillion nodded. They went down the steps together, and Chip layed down in his hammock while Gillion climbed into his barrel. It was a nice night
