Yeah, I Don't Remember You Either

Summary:

SPOILERS FOR OLIS ESMP

Oli totally doesn't remember Gem. It definitely doesn't hurt when she says she doesn't remember him. Not at all.

Notes:

This may be terrible, but I do not care. Hope you enjoy :)

TW: kidnapping (kinda) ((only stuff we saw in Olis video))

Work Text:

"Yeah I don't remember you either."

Gem was acting strange, and Oli hated it. What did she mean she didn't remember him, was he not memorable enough? He stayed quiet while following her, making sure he didn't say anything weird. If she actually didn't remember him, he didn't want to scare her. Even if it meant lying to himself, and Gem.

She was content with the silence, that proved she hadn't changed. It just made it so much worse when she asked what his name was. He didn't respond, instead just fiddled with the buttons on his shirt.

Everything was going wrong for Oli. He was not correctly dressed for the Olipeligo, but then he had Sausage to distract him. Now he was absolutely freezing. Gem didn't notice.

She probably thought he was so strange. He probably would've, if he didn't know these people and himself. Gem asked if this was the place. It ovbiously wasn't, there was no mega base. Even if it was, he would've said no, he needed Gem to remember. Maybe with more time she'd finally remember him. If she didn't remember there was no chance Sausage would.

Gem paused, and the ground fell from beneath Olis feet. He was falling again. And he still didn't have his wings, he didn't want to die. He'd killed the ender dragon, he was mega pogging. A death would really ruin the mood. The hole was swallowed by darkness, and Oli couldn't breathe.

Sweat covered his forehead, and his feet were tingling, he hated it.

They say: When you are dying, your life flashes before your eyes. Oli would disagree. Nothing changed. Everything just slowed down enough, that you could think. Oli thought about everything he hadn't done. Taking Sausage back home, seeing the strider again. Seeing Callum.

So many things Oli would never do. Afterall, he was on his final life before empires. He probably still was now.

He could see the ground. It looked stoney, and very hard. Just the perfect place for him to die. He closed his eyes, just as the world ended.

Except the world didn't end. It was actually pretty anti climactic. There was no pain. No feeling, and he could still see. He wasn't dead. Shakily he exhaled. He was going to be okay.

However he was a little bit claustrophobic. Like a rat. Oli was not a rat. He was a big man. And he did not like being seen as a rat. So he opened his mouth to speak, and nothing came out.

Then he noticed the small green goblin who stared at him with curiosity in his eyes.

"Hey fWhip, how are you?"

fWhip tilted his head, but didn't respond.

Did none of them remember him? Was this his punishment for not joining Pearl on heaven? If it was Oli was impressed. Yet he wished they still knew who he was, he loved them. And it hurt that they didn't even know his name.

"Lets see what the sheriff thinks about this one."

fWhip chucked, knowing all about the fate Oli would soon face.

Did Pearl not think he'd suffered enough. He deserved one person to remember him. Just one person who cared enough that they chose to remember him. Or one person who didn't leave him back in afterlife. Not even a note, for a supposed friend.

But it was alright, because now Oli had Gem back. And soon he'd have sausage, and he'd bring him home. Even if he didn't remember.
