Work Text:
See, he never told Jack who he killed for his Assessment. Not even a whispered name, late at night after they’d fucked.
Only Connie knew, and he was damn well keeping it that way.
Because before the Guild, he had someone. A home to come back to, a warm bed to curl up in. A promise, a dream of something better.
A hope for a new life.
The Assessment took that from him.
He pledged his life and soul to the Guild, and he never looked back, because he couldn’t.
Because he had murdered any chance he might have had.
