Work Text:
The empty, ruined old factory building left nothing but echoes of the footsteps. The scene of chasing heated the cold interior due to the night. Tired, stressed and hurried, all of this negativity would never break down these young people. The very people who fought for justice in the middle of twilight. The renowned detectives of Yokohama, the members of the Armed Detective Agency.
It was around 2 weeks ago when the new job was coming in. This request was specially made by the government Special Ability Department, who was responsible to manage the ability users in Japan. Their request was involving a group of terrorists, who were ratty enough to even manage to slip past the government forces of elite people. To take out this kind of group, was something that couldn't be done by people who were standing in the light. That’s why the job was given to the Armed Detective Agency, which delivered justice even with shady methods.
The terrorists were outsiders who came from outside Japan. They were a group of people that were led by multiple ability users. Their abilities were currently unknown and now they were possessing a threat to Yokohama, aiming to destroy its peace. After a careful investigation, the Armed Detective Agency managed to find one of their hideouts which were located in an abandoned factory building.
“I saw them here!” The rookie detective shouted after he saw the shadow of their prey. He, who specialised in agility, was the frontest one when it came to chasing something.
“Catch him, Atsushi! Don’t let him get away!” The glasses man commanded, who was the senior of the boy.
As their target was becoming far away, Atsushi had no choice but to pick up the speed, even if it meant he needed to leave his companion behind. His speed matched the speed of light, running through the corner and then led to an empty room. A big room where the rusty old machines were left behind. Over there, a single-robed man was waiting for him.
Atsushi stopped his speed and walked toward him at a slow pace. “This will end here. Just let out your plan.”
But the robed man was not even afraid. He was even amused. Through his partially hidden face, a mischievous smirk could be seen on his face. “I've been waiting for you, Nakajima Atsushi. The day you can walk around freely while flaunting your strong ability, right now is the end for you.”
Atsushi couldn’t understand what he meant. Not even having time to think about it, a blinding light was coming from that man, bright enough to illuminate the whole big room, to the point it could be seen from the outside of the factory.
“Atsushi, what’s happened?” The glasses man, Kunikida, just arrived a few steps behind. The blinding light started to disperse. But the source, the robed man, was nowhere to be found. Kunikida along with Tanizaki who just arrived then observed around the room, trying to see if there were any remains from the terrorist group.
But something was weird. “Atsushi?” Kunikida couldn’t find him. Could it be that he got kidnapped? After all, this was not the first time Atsushi was kidnapped, he was the Princess Peach of the Armed Detective Agency after all.
“Muu…”
“Huh?” Kunikida heard the sound. It was a very tiny sound. “Tanizaki, did you hear that?”
“Hear what? I couldn't see Atsushi anywhere. Did he go outside?” The confused Tanizaki didn’t notice the sound.
“Mu, Mu!”
“Hm?” He finally heard it. A tiny voice.
Tanizaki saw it. On the rusty table, he saw a tiny being who resembled someone. His mouth then gaped so big. He tried to call Kunikida, even though there were no words that could be formed from his freezing mouth.
“What? Why are you like that?” Kunikida looked at Tanizaki who was all confused. He saw Tanizaki pointing shakingly at something. As if he was seeing a ghost or even an alien.
Just what did he see?
“Mu!”
Kunikida noted that calling. He followed Tanizaki’s gaze and found what he saw. Once upon eye contact, his eyes went big along with his mouth. He was about to scream.
On the table was a tiny human being, enveloped by a big white shirt. Looked so round and so smooth. He was calling for them. “Mu!”
“A-Atsushi-kun!” They both shouted.
Atsushi was reduced to nothing but a toddler.

“I heard what was going on!” The office door opened hardly and went bang. The brunet guy just appeared at the door, along with the blond kid that he brought with him on the way here.
“Dazai-san!” Tanizaki noted the presence of another senior.
Dazai walked in and tried to search for something. “I heard what was going on and I want to see it. Just where is the baby Atsushi?”
He didn’t take so long. Then, he saw the tiny human, sitting on Atsushi's own table. “Mu!”
Dazai fell in love. “Oh my, oh my! How cute of you, Atsushi! As expected of a tiger cub. Here, show me some smiles!” He took his phone and turned on the camera. Atsushi, although already becoming a toddler, still had the conscience of an 18-year-old. His eyebrows frowned, and his cute face looked unsatisfied. He wanted Dazai to stop making fun of him.
Dazai with a silly smile on his face persuaded him smoothly, “There, there. Just a few pics, okay? This is a very rare chance. Atsushi-kun, you might not want to miss it. After all, you are very cute right now!”
“Oi, Dazai. Stop teasing him,” Kunikida told off Dazai, although, in his very heart, he was agreeing with him.
“Atsushi-kun really look cute as a toddler,” said Kenji who took a closer look at Atsushi. Then he poked Atsushi's fluffy cheek, “There, don't you think so?”
“I–” Kunikida found it hard to disagree. He wanted to do it as well.
“Atsushi-kun! Say cheese!” Dazai hadn’t given up his photoshoot session.
Baby Atsushi sighed and let himself at the mercy of Dazai. He took a direct stare at the camera and brought his tiny fists to his face.
“There you go. You did it right!” Dazai praised satisfyingly, he took a few other pics but from various angles. Then the office telephone rang.
Kunikida took it and answered, “Yes? This is the Armed Detective Agency.”
“How is it, seeing one of your own reduced into a mere toddler?” A man's voice coming from the other side of the telephone.
Kunikida, alarmed, put the speaker on so the other detectives could hear it.
“Listen, you detectives better not to intrude in our plan, or else your rookie boy there can never turn back to his present—”
“Atsushi-kun, look here! See what I bought!” Dazai interrupted the call and put a paper bag on the table.
“Huh? What did you bring, Dazai?” Kunikida’s attention shifted to the menace of the Armed Detective Agency. Everyone else also did the same.
“Let’s see, here. Did you like it, Atsushi?” Dazai brought out a green dinosaur toddler outfit and showed it to Atsushi.
“Mu…”
“Oh, it looks so well with Atsushi-kun!” said Tanizaki.
“Hey..” The terrorist was ignored.
“Let's try it on, Atsushi-kun!” Kenji agreed with him.
“Hey, listen to me!” The guy shouted over the phone.
“Where did you get that Dazai? Don’t tell me you bought it.” Kunikida came to take a closer look at the outfit.
“Everyone, listen to me or else–!”
“Here let me help you change.” Dazai offered to put on the clothes.
“.........Whatever.” The phone call was cut off.
After that, Dazai devised the plan for a counterattack and managed to catch all the terrorists. Atsushi managed to return to his original size. After they finished their mission, they shared the pictures they took with Atsushi, which was kinda happy although he was against it when Dazai tried to put the clothes on him.
