Chapter Text
“Hello there, Blaise.” Her voice is silky. She sounds how he imagines a cloud would feel. “I’ve brought you something.” Her smile is bright.
There’s this radiance that emits from her. One he hasn’t ever seen. It leaves him in awe.
She looks like the sun.
He says nothing and only looks.
It's not that he hadn’t expected her, because he did, he always does.
She’s just — wow.
And in her hands, there’s a small velvet green box with a yellow bow on top. She offers it to him like a promise. It does this thing to his chest.
“Happy Christmas,” she says, as she sits beside him, placing a chaste kiss onto his cheek.
She places the box on his lap, and beams a smile at him. It causes a grin to tug at his lips. “What’re you doing here?” His eyes track her pretty face.
Her fingers trace his knuckles as her eyes leave his. “I don’t think you deserve to spend the holiday alone. No one does.” And after a moment, she tangles their fingers together, looking back at his solemn face. “Especially you.”
