Kyo has a secret, a secret that he wouldn’t dare to tell anyone.
He likes Ren Zotto, the alien prince that everyone goes crazy about. And also the one that makes him mald every time he speaks.
He admits that he acts like he hates Ren to the core in order not to let anyone have any clue about his secret crush, but sometimes it’s also because Ren annoys him. Maybe he did blush and fluster everytime Ren got too close to him or flirted with him accidentally. The fact that Ren calls him tsundere whenever the topic of Kyo shows up does not help his situation at all.
The way Ren acted around often made Kyo feel he also had special feelings towards him. But then his speculation would be crushed immediately the moment he saw Ren interact with Aster or some other students the same way when Kyo was around. It makes him wonder if that is the way aliens show appreciation or if they don’t have the concept of commitment?
Is it just him or it is a universal thing because he is struggling to find ways to express to Ren that he likes him, not as a friend of course. He tried to ask many people, especially Aia and Scarle, for extra advice but they all lead to nowhere. The conversation always ended about who Kyo's crush is, which most of the time drove him crazy. Why is finding out who Kyo's crush is so interesting for people? It’s not like he doesn't know how to love, he just experienced it a little late.
“Come one Kyo, you have to tell me who it is so that I can help you. You can’t just make me figure things out myself” Kyo feels like he made a mistake about asking Aster for advice.
“You literally have more information than anyone else I ever ask for relationship advice. Stop trying to make me expose myself”
“If it's just a crush then why do you have to hide it? Is it just better to let your emotions out?”
“I know but…this is not just…forget it”
Kyo is about to get up and head back to his dorm room when he hears Aster just make a loud noise and immediately drag Kyo back to where he originally sat.
“Don’t tell me that” Aster gets closer to Kyo ear and whisper “you have a crush on Ren”
The way Kyo’s face just reddened like a mad person gives Aster every clue he needs to confirm his speculation. But the more Aster thinks about this new-found fact, he still cannot find a situation that leads to Kyo liking Ren. Maybe because they live in the same dorm? Or love at first sight? Or Ren’s clumsy, sometimes ridiculous flirtation technique actually works on Kyo? Well, the only possible answer is they live in the same dorm and what happened behind that close door might be the reason why Kyo has this “secret” crush on Ren.
Kyo keeps looking to make sure no one is around them right now or they would find him blushing like crazy right here. How the hell can Aster figure him out like that? “Am I that obvious?” Now Kyo feels as if he needs to think about his choices.
“Hey Kyo, listen to me. It doesn’t matter if you have a crush on Ren or anybody else, it’s your own choice and we all support you. No need to feel worry about it, I can help you”
“You need to understand it’s REN that we are talking about. He doesn’t know what love is, well he might have a clue now, but just look at the way he literally flirts with every single person that he meets. I seriously don’t know if he changed his intention from taking over the world to building his own harem.”
“I mean, it’s not that bad…” Aster is not even allowed to finish his sentence before Kyo decides to cut him off.
“You literally simp him Aster, to the point that everyone is thinking that you two are dating.”
“They do have a point tho” Aster only thinks to himself though because if he dared to tell Kyo this, Kyo would definitely explode and kill him right on the spot. He has to admit that the way Ren shows his affection is quite unusual, Aster cannot tell if he is actually serious with anyone. This morning he saw Ren holding hands with a second-year then just 30 minutes ago, Ren called him a cutie. Maybe Kyo was right about Ren building his harem or maybe it’s just the way aliens show their friendliness (?)
“You know what, I will help you to ask Ren out.” Kyo immediately has the ‘WTF is wrong with this guy’ face on after hearing Aster’s offer.
When Aster is just about to share his strategy, a familiar voice surprises both him and Kyo to the point that it makes them jump from their original spot. The voice that Kyo wish he had something to make excuse to free himself.
“What are you guys talking about?” The man that has been mentioned a hundred times in Aster and Kyo conversation, Ren Zotto.
“We are…are just…history yeah history…I was just asking Kyo about my history homework…man I hate that subject, right Kyo?” Kyo can only nod his head furiously and try not to be suspicious.
“Huh, but you said to me that you love history.”
Shit, he forgot that he had talked to Ren about this matter. Aster tries to send Kyo some signal to help him but to no avail, the blue-haired boy is too stunt to say anything to save his friend.
“Just forget about what I said. Why did you unexpectedly appear here, Ren?”
“I saw you guys from afar and since our summer vacation is coming soon, I want to ask if you guys have any plans.”
“I already agreed to go on a trip with Scarle, Aia and Maria so yeah, I’m booked basically.”
Both of them look over to Kyo after Aster finishes his sentence. Honestly Kyo doesn't know if he made any plans yet, so far no one has asked him to hangout or to go on a trip with. He wishes someone would invite him but maybe he is just not that popular.
“I don’t know, I haven’t had anything in mind.”
He swears he saw Ren’s eyes light up like a kid who hears his parents say he can buy some more candy, his horns do change shape a little bit but it is quite hard to notice.
“Then…” Kyo wonders why Ren needed to stop for a sec to take a deep breath, like he built up some courage.
“Will you go on a date with me?”
