Work Text:
Nancy’s blouse was missing. Again.
She wanted to wear it to her date with Jonathan, but she was looking for her everywhere in her room, and it wasn’t there.
That’s why her thoughts led her to her dear brother, Mike.
Maybe to the others, it would be weird to think about a brother stealing his sister’s clothes, but he already did that. In a good thought, but he did. And who knows what is in his teenager’s head?
That’s why, after knocking on Mike’s room and getting no answer, Nancy decided to look for him in their basement.
She opened the door and started making her way down the stars.
But right when she wanted to yell at Mike, she stopped in her tracks with wide eyes. Nancy just stood there with her mouth open, looking at the view in front of her. She stopped because it was rather… Not normal. Of course, it wasn’t monster-from-another-world kind of weird, but just… relationship weird.
Mike’s Party was sitting on a couch and watching a movie. Well, not all of them were on the couch. Dustin was sitting on the ground, eating popcorn and humming happily from time to time.
But that wasn’t the weird part. The strange part, or a bit of it, was El’s hand in Dustin’s hair, playing with it, stroking it, and sometimes pulling it lightly. And from Dustin’s expression, you could say that the girl was good at this, making him hum.
Nancy looked up at El’s face and realized that Eleven’s head, was lying on Max’s arm, while Max’s head was lying on Lucas’ arm. Nancy thought that this wasn’t exactly surprising. She saw that after Eleven broke up with Mike, Lucas and Max grow only closer to the girl. That also would explain Lucas’ arm around the back of the sofa, lying behind Max and touching Eleven’s head. Sometimes even patting her, probably unconsciously.
What surprised her, however, was Will’s hand in Lucas’. Two boys were holding hands and that was…new to her. She has never seen anything happening between those two, but from the domestic look of their position, she couldn’t say that nothing was happening.
And the last person. Her brother, whose head was lying on Will’s thighs. That, well, she was happy about that one. She saw how much and long young Byer was crushing on her brother, so she was content to see them finally together and happy.
But, were they together?
From the look of their position, it’s hard to tell who is in a relationship with whom. It’s as if… as if all of them were in one relationship.
Was it weird? Of course.
Did she have something against it? Not at all.
As long as the kids, and her brother, are happy that it’s okay with her.
That’s why Nancy decided that she would ask her brother about her missing blouse later.
And of course, she won’t miss the chance to ask him about his new relationship(s).
