Summary
Anastasia Potter hadn't particularly wanted to be a hero, or a Chosen One. It may have been better than her previous circumstances— stuck with her abusive aunt and uncle, blind to the magic singing within her body— but she'd much prefer a peaceful, boring life. A place to call home, people she could rely on, perhaps a body she didn't hate… surely that wasn't too much to ask, right?
But the world needs heroes. Britain teeters over the edge of a precipice: enemies lurk behind every corner, secrets lie waiting to be unearthed, and the flame of revolution, stoked and fuelled so carefully by those who came before, must blaze ever brighter before it can be snuffed out entirely. Against the coming dark, Ana will learn to stand tall, to burn hot and proud in the face of evil, or all she's come to care about will be lost forever.
Yet with newfound friends and family at her side, she just might make it in the end.
