"Why won’t he stop crying?" Itadori panics. "I did everything. I checked his diaper. I fed him ten minutes ago!" Mosu nearly wails as Itadori finishes his sentence. "Aw, comeon, Mosu shhh," he pleads with him. There’s a distant key jingle, and then the front door opens. Itadori immediately goes to check on it.
"You’re back!" I heard him cheerfully say There’s a decrease in upset sounds from Mosu, more of a sound of him calming down. "He hasn’t calmed down at all since you left. He keeps crying. " I get up from the couch, making my way to the hallway. I peek slightly into the hallway. I see her holding Mosu while he holds onto her shirt with his small hand. There are grocery bags on the floor from Itadori jumping her on the spot.
I make my way to the bags as Itadori also helps with the bags, bringing them to the kitchen. She waits for me to gather the rest of the bags, soothing Mosu in her arms. As I get up, she stands on her tippy toes and pecks me on the cheek. "Thank you," she says quietly. I make an 'mhm’ noise in response. Mosu makes a noise as I finish, making an upset face. She coos at him, soothing him in her arms. "What’s wrong, buddy?" she says in her baby voice. He whines at her, pressing his head into her chest. "You wanna go night-night?" she says, making her way to the kitchen with me. He makes small babble noises to her. " Do you want to play with Gumi and Yuji?" she asks him as if he could understand her. I grab the groceries from the bag and organize them into the cabinets and fridge. She keeps talking to Mosu, calming him down and earning more cheerful responses from him. She takes out a milk bottle and goes back to the living room.
I help Itadori organize the rest of the groceries. He doesn’t fully organize everything, which leaves me to organize everything that he didn’t. I take a deep breath as I finish organizing everything. I got to the living room to see what they were up to. When I get there, I see Mosu passed out in her arms and her watching the TV. Itadori is also passed out, tired from caring for Mosu and crying in his care. I would have taken care of Mosu, but I don’t think that he would’ve liked me. As I go into the living room, her face brightens, which makes me heat up a bit. She motions for me to sit next to her, and I do so. She rests her head on my shoulder, making me feel more comfortable. "Ema is supposed to come back in two days or so, depending on if Delta doesn’t mess up her flight again," she whispers to me. I nod, acknowledging what she said. "Did you hold him yet?" she asks me. I shake my head. "Here," she carefully hands me him, not wanting to wake him up.
I shuffle a bit, trying to get into a comfortable position holding him. He settles into my arms, snuggling into me. It nearly makes me soft. He seems so calm with him softly snoring. I feel my arm get heavier as she starts falling asleep on my arm. She snuggles into me, making my whole body heat up as she does. I put my focus on the TV playing SpongeBob, most likely for Mosu. The more time passes by, the more content I get, and the more it sinks in that I like this. How content I would be if this was my future, with her and our child like this.
