Being half galra is one thing and being teamed up with your rival is another.When Keith found out he was going to team up with Lance on a mission he was upset really upset and so was Lance.
Keiths pov
We’ve recently received a signal from a planet called Hiskya.Their asking for our help they said that the galra attacked them and are now the ones in control of their planet.”Okay?So let’s go and beat their asses!”Lance said underestimating his abilities as always.
”Lance language”Shiro interrupted.Lance groaned.”Well there’s one thing you need to know first.”Allura spoke.I didn’t like the tone of her voice at all.”You and Keith are going to team up for this mission”Calmly but surely she said it.
”We can’t be teamed up!”As quickly as the words escaped my lips another voice was heard another whine.”Keith for once in his life is right!!!Were gonna eat ourselves alive!”Lance shouted and even though I would normally punch his stupid face right then and there I hold myself back so to not make any more fuss.I spoke up again “Guys you know we’re trying we really are but this is too much.I mean we can work together as a team when your there and that’s it!This is a whole different story!”I firmly said.”We’re trying to get along we really are but it just-it just isn’t easy we’re like complete opposites”Lance talked and talked trying to change their minds but with no luck.
Allura said it’s final and that the teams were already chosen.Of course they were chosen that is what pisses me off the most.”If they were chosen why did you have to team us up?”A questioning look forming on my face.”Because you two have to get along we can’t have any more of these fights”She said.No one spoke no one flinched,then the silence was broken by the same person that it was created by”Guys like it or not you are going to be stuck-“She stopped “We are going to be stuck with eachother for a while so let’s just try and make the best out of it”
I didn’t buy any of it I couldn’t agree I just couldn’t so I shook my head no.Lance didn’t seem to agree with this either so that was a good starting point.”They say opposites attract”Shiro spoke up.To be honest I haven’t noticed him he was standing in a corner watching.”Shiro I think what we have here is a lost cause these two are anything but attracted to eachother I mean come on they literally disagree in almost everything” Pidge interrupted him.
At some point when Shiro said what he said I could feel my cheeks heat up what the hell? I could’ve sworn I saw a hint of red in Lances cheeks as well but I guess I’m just that desperate I see things there’s no way.And it’s not like I like him it’s just from embarrassment Pidge is right she always is anyway.”Whatever I’m going to my lion we had enough chit-chat we've got a planet to free”I said and simply walked out of the room it felt suffocating in there.
Lance pov
What did he say?Opposites attract?Nope no way somethings wrong.My throat is dry ok odd.”Whatever Keiths right we gotta go save that planet from the galra.”And maybe find a few good looking ladies there hehe~”A smirk forming on my handsome face.”Oh my god Lance just got to your lion and let’s just get this over with”Pidge said and walked out of the room with Hunk following her.”Okay okay fine don’t eat me”I said as I caught up with them and went off to find blue.
Keith’s pov
Once we arrived a quite tall alien creature which I figured was the King by his attitude practically run towards us.He had with him a tall alien female which looked a lot younger so i presumed it was some kind of princess.He told us all about how the galra just bursted in one day and captured most of them.The girl also pleaded us to free them and ofcourse Lance being Lance he took the chance to flirt.Yes even if we’re literally in the middle of a battlefield.
We quickly went over the plan one last time before jumping into action.Me and Lance swiftly rushed towards some galra soldiers that were around.Every few minutes I would secretly check on the others and everything seemed to be going smoothly.Too smoothly and that’s never a good sign.Why is it so easy?Somethings not right.Of course I couldn’t concentrate in the middle of a fight and Lance didn’t exactly help.
He was going on and on about how pretty that alien girl from before was and that he thinks he’s in love.”Really Lance?You have perfect timing.Can we not talk about your love life in the middle of a battle?”I firmly said.”Aw come on man you know this is easy there’s only a few galra left and also-“ t Before he could finish a bang was heard like something exploded.
What the hell is that?
I don’t feel well I’m getting lightheaded oh no-This this feeling I’ve experienced it before but where?Oh no please not now I know what this chemical is they need to get away from me.
Lance pov
“Also-“BANG.What was that?Smoke..?Purple smoke?”Uhm Keithy why are the galra acting weird all of a sudden?”I asked but no answer that was out of character for him.”Uh-Keith you there?”Then I spotted him he was clinging onto a wall for support what the heck why is he like this?I rushed to him catching him before he could collapse to the ground.I don’t understand he was alright a second ago-Wait the smoke it didn’t affect me but it affected Keith?I have to check and see if the others are okay too.But first
”Keith buddy can you hear me?Please answer I’m getting freaked out”The only thing I heard was a groan and then.
”L-Lance listen to me ngh-You need to get away from me now-“Keith answered
”Keith I’m getting worried and I’m not leaving you half conscious here?!”I practically yelled
”You have to go find the others I’ll be fine I-“I interrupted him
I quickly put an arm around him and pulled him up carrying him bridal style.He made a surprised sound and tried to say something but I cut him off.
”I’m going to contact the others and see if everything’s okay and don’t even say anything about this I just can’t leave you here to die and you don’t seem to be able to do much right now.”I finished he looked kinda red maybe he had just caught a cold?I don’t even know what to think right now.
Shiro Allura can you hear me?I spoke through my helmet.”Lance?Yes I can hear you is everything alright?”
”Uhm Shiro here’s the thing there’s some kind of purple smoke in the air and we really need to find a place for Keith to rest”I quickly spoke.”Why?!What happened?”He responded.”He’s not feeling well the smoke seems to be affecting him”
”Im on my way Lance stay where you are I’m going to contact the others and look after Keith”.Well that’s easy for you to say your not his rival.Jeez what am I even thinking he’s not even conscious.Then another BANG louder than the last one and then right before my eyes was Haggar?!Oh no this can’t be happening to me.”Uh-Shiro I think we might have a problem here-“.No answer. “Shiro?!”
“We’re coming Lance just hang on a little longer”Pidge said.
How was I going to defend myself with Keith in my arms?!Before I could react Haggar snatched Keith from me.”HEY NO YOU DIDNT-“
She then grabbed a bottle which was filled with that same powder from before and just as Haggar put some on Keith everyone arrived “LANCE I LITERALLY TOLD YOU TO LOOK AFTER HIM”Shiro shouted.I tried to avert his gaze but it was hard.”I know I’m sorry it just happened-“.”We don’t have time for this Hunk said we’ve got to bring him back-“
”Aw look at all of you trying to save your little friend”Haggar said sarcastically.”Okay now I think you’ve got the wrong idea I wouldn’t exactly call him friend”I said.”I don’t care what you think you’ll see in a bit with your own eyes what this half breed is up to.Oh and I don’t think you’ll want him back so I won’t hurt him for now I want to see your reaction to what he’s been hiding from you all this time”
Well that for sure was confusing.
