The angel was now muttering to himself with a distinct southern twang. Lance had never heard of angels with Texan accents... so maybe...
“You’re not an angel,” he slurred. The not-angel let out a huff of laughter.
“Yeah, no. Can you move? Why are you even in the middle of the desert?” This not-angel was rather pushy, Lance decided. He needed to learn his manners. Would it kill him to say ‘please?’
“Go ‘way,” he mumbled petulantly.
“C’mon, I can’t leave you half-dead on the side of the road,” the not-angel pleaded, a hint of frustration slipping into his voice. "Work with me here.”
Lance squinted at him. Slowly, his night vision improved, and the outline of his savior began to take shape.

Summary

Follow Lance and Carlisle for a change of scenery as they travel to New York to help NYPD detective Kate Beckett and her partner Richard Castle unravel this newest fanged case.
Of course, they will get plenty of help from their team of brilliant Jeffersonian minds, so this case will be cracked in no time, right?
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work that way, and our heroes soon find themselves embroiled in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a vampire that seems to have the backing of some very powerful people.
Will they be able to crack the case?
And, more importantly, will they be able to do so before more people end up dead?

The way he stared intensely at anyone speaking directly to him, how group conversations had to be summed up for him afterwards, how it seemed like he wasn’t paying attention when they spoke to him sometimes. - No explicitly detailed descriptions of gore, but this isn’t an idyllic world where carnivores only eat Berries. People occasionally die ‘on-screen’, but it is not the focus. -
