The fine sand was warm under their toes as they walked hand in hand along the beach. The sun was beginning to touch the sea on the horizon and reflect off the waves in a festival of warm colors.
Loki sighed with contentment and glanced at Mobius.
Mobius raised an eyebrow, "What?".
"I don't think I've ever seen you so relaxed."
Mobius smiled at him, his teeth looking whiter under the light tan that graced his skin, his hair less neat than usual, tousled by the sea wind.
Loki continued, "It looks good on you."
Mobius' light tan didn't stop Loki from noticing the small blush on Mobius' upper cheeks as he murmured, "Thank you."
He raised their joined hands to his mouth and kissed Loki's hand as he continued, "This vacation was a wonderful idea. But if I'm like this, it's mainly because of you, you know. With you I know I don't have to wear a mask. I don't have to be the perfect Mobius that everyone relies on, that has to make the right decisions. "
It was Loki's turn to blush slightly as he squeezed Mobius' hand in response, pressing himself against him a little more.
He chuckled slightly, they were both so unfamiliar with compliments.
"It must be the vacation effect, the secluded beach, all that..."
Mobius, fully aware of Loki's deflection, insisted, "The vacation, the beach, all that as you say, is fine, but you..."
He stopped and turned to Loki, taking his face in his hands and pulling it toward him, he whispered against his lips, "You make it extraordinary."
He closed the tiny distance between their lips and kissed Loki deeply.
A little later, they were still embracing on the beach, contemplating the sun that continued to sink into the sea.
Mobius asked Loki: "If you could do something now, without worrying about anything, what would you do?".
Loki pretended to think and then, very seriously, he replied, "I would be on a deserted beach, with only the sound of the sea in the background and the man I love in my arms and I would do this."
He turned Mobius in his arms and kissed him deeply, showing him that there was no other place in the world he would want to be, no other person he would want to be with than Mobius.
When they parted to catch their breath, Loki whispered, "I am exactly where I want to be."
