Work Text:
Cale Henituse couldn't remember the last time he had allowed himself to show such vulnerability in front of anyone, much less someone he cherished more than himself, but he conceived that the circumstances warranted it.
And so, on his knees, clinging like a lost child to a gentle touch, face hidden in thin shoulders and teary eyes, he allowed himself to be weak for a few minutes.
Weak enough to babble, half in the language of that world as well as his old one, how much he had missed his team leader, his Hyung, his family, Lee Soo Hyuk.
Lee Soo Hyuk, now Sui Khan, just bit his lips hard, clinging to that now larger but much more fragile body in comparison with the same despair, holding back his own tears as he tried to give what comfort he could to his Dongsaeng, the same rookie he had had to leave one day.
They clung to each other in what seemed like hours, in a mixture of arms and wings and tears and worn souls. They held on until they knew, much to their regret, that they had no more time left, not with the world falling away from them on top of them.
