When Harry Potter was eight years old he disappeared for a week after walking through a yellow door that had not been on the outer wall of the house facing the garden when Harry had started gardening. When he got back he obsessively tried to draw maps with the little paper and writing utensils he had. Only a few days later the door appeared again, and Harry, desperate to escape his relatives, went through. Harry Distortion emerged a few months later, fingers too long and smile too wide, replacing Micheal as the distortion.

Harry lounged on the sofa in Mike Crews' apartment. (The pair had a rocky start for less than five minutes, seeing as Mike had quickly realized the avatar in front of him was a literal child. He had quickly thrown away his old feelings regarding the distortion, replacing them with the need to protect this child and help it acclimate to its avatarhood.)
“Hey Harry, there's mail for you!” (Harry, despite having its domain, appreciated Mikes offer of having his apartment as a place to stay, and now it was an all-too-common sight to see the eleven-year-old Spiral avatar hanging out with the twenty-eight-year-old Vast avatar.) Harry sat up straighter.
“Really?”
“Yeah, it's really weird, check this out.” He handed the envelope to Harry. The envelope was sealed with a wax stamp.
“Here, I’ll read it aloud.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. Of Wizards)
Dear Mr. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

Blah blah, there's a list of stuff we need to buy.”
“Harry,” chastised Mike, “that stuff is probably important. Anyway, let her know you accept and ask if I can come with you to shop. Actually, we need to know how to shop for this shit.” Harry nodded and penned a quick reply on a piece of printer paper. Then it went outside and looked around, quickly finding an owl, which swooped over to it. Harry handed it the letter.
“Please give this to whoever should get my acceptance letter?” Harry asked, feeling rather embarrassed about talking to a bird. Surprisingly, the bird nodded, grabbed the letter, and flew off.

A couple days later, Harry and Mike received a letter back. Harry also read this one aloud.
“Dear Mr. Potter,” Harry made a face at the use of the name it had before it Became. “You will find enclosed an anti-anti muggle charm. (Muggles are people without magic.) This charm will allow your friend to see past any charms or such like meant to keep muggles away from the magical world. Please do not tell any other muggles about the magical world, it is illegal. An exception was made for your roommate, as normally families of muggleborns are allowed to know about magic. (Muggleborns are wixen born to muggles.) You will also find enclosed instructions on how to get to Diagon Alley, for your school shopping, and Platform 9 and ¾, where you will find the Hogwarts express.

Minerva McGonagall.” Harry pulled out a necklace with a simple charm and an extra piece of paper, presumably the anti-anti muggle charm and instructions respectively. Harry grinned its too-wide smile at Mike. “Let’s go shopping, shall we?”
