Chapter Text

A loud crash was heard from the throne room of a castle far from traitorous eyes.

"HAG!" yelled a rasped and uneven voice shouted over the retreating avians cries surrounding the castle.

"What my son?" The ruling queen inquired, posed on her throne signing a law, as was Normal for this day broken kingdom.

"What is this about an arranged marriage?" The prince croned his mother from below, " I am not accepting the marriage between that princess-"

He stopped, unable to remember the fellow royals name.  Nonetheless, he continued, " I will not marry her!"

The queen held out her hand, a signal telling her son to stop trying to reprimand his queen and mother.

" it is set and done Katsuki, accept it." She straightened her back and held her sons fire stare "the wedding is set for next year"

storms swelled in the young bakugou's mind, he had only a few months to be a kid, before he had to grow up and become king.  Gravitas, he thought, a kingdom rich in land and magical potential, but low on money and power among titans of kingdoms such as his and the kingdom the todorokies ruled over.

He knew one thing, and one thing alone that night, the marriage wasn't going through.

Time skip-

As the prince woke the next morning, he left his chambors and walked towards the extensive dinning room.  As he walked, Bakugou thought of the princess he was set to marry.  The said princess was powerful on the magical level, posed, almost like she floated everywhere she ventured.  He also knew, begrudgingly of course, that she herself was the apple of her kingdoms eyes.

He let out a brief sighs as he turned a corner, the first of three he had noted in years past, before he got to the courtyard. And then, the dinning room.  When he crosses the courtyard, he follows practiced steps. Step to the side to avoid hurting himself on broken slabs.  Walk brisk, to avoid attention to himself as the prince of the castle.

As soon as he reached the other side, he put up his facade, to protect his true intentions.  He opened the large dragon inscribed dark doors, seeing his parents and childhood friend.

"What is deku doing here?" He murmured warily, nothing good happened when he came back for a visit.  He hoped that he wouldn't get roped into anything. Soon, he found that the greenete was just stopping by to see his mother.  He visibly relaxed the tension in his shoulders at the conformation.

A few hours came and went, and Katsuki felt it was the time to act.  He had, in the night, decided to go on one last adventure.  However, the queen has kept an eye on her son the whole of breakfast.  Unfortunately, Katsuki had her determination, and he was dead set on leaving the castle.  Once breakfast was severed and finished by the royal family, Katsuki left for his studies.

He stopped and turned to the right, a path that was covered by overgrowth would be his escape. To the left, his studies had been long forgotten. As he stepped into the passenge, he knew he was free.  He walked through the massive tunnel, much longer than any he knew that were in use. He looked around the undergrowth and rails, this was used for construction and hauling goods to and from the castle he realized.  Perfect, all of these went out of commission decades ago, he was safe here.

After the sun began to set, casting the world in shadows and cascading colors of orange and purple across the sky. He watched from the crumbling tunnel as dragons flew across the moon. He noted their size and speed before continuing his path. He soon decided to settled into a spot where he started a fire and waited for dawn.

As sunrise came, Katsuki awoke and snuffed out the remaining burning embers. He knew he had to keep going, if he wanted to escape. Noon soon came, and the sun beat down on Katsuki through gaps in the stone ceiling. He saw a light near the end of the tunnel, and knew he was almost free.  He ran, for his life did depend upon his escape from his life back at the castle. He kept running, and running.  Until he stopped and trecked through the water flowing down the gapping opening, not caring as water seeped through his boots.

He grinned as he turned back around towards the tunnel, he knew he wouldn't survive the drop.  So instead, he opted to jump.  So he did, down the man mad falls and into the cold, refreshing water below.  When he reached the shore, he let his garments dry before continuing to make his way away from his mother's expectations.  As afternoon came into view, he slowed his pace.  Knowing recovery efforts would cease after a certain amount time and distance. He walked slowly, taking in the wild terrain. Animals freely went upon their day without a care in the world.

He heard a blood curling roar, He knew a dragons by heart, and that was indeed one.  He started running, only the animals scattering, and the adrenalin pumping through his head were heard as he came to a crash sight.  He followed the large depression in the ground for a minute, and came across a dragon not long after that.
