Pauline may have helped save New Donk City from the wrath of King K. Rool, with help from Donkey Kong of course, but that hasn't changed her daily life in New Donk Junior High, where numerous boys and girls make fun of her short height. No matter how much she tries to brush it off, the teenage girl casually wonders how things would be so much better if she were even a little bit taller. After school, she travels to DK Island with the help of an Eelavator, and rushes into DK's open and excited arms. But rather than frolic around the island like they did last time, DK takes Pauline to see unusual looking Banandium sticking out of the sand. DK and Pauline can't help but want to take a taste of the Banandium and they both find it tasty. While the Banandium does not affect DK any differently than regular Banandium, it causes Pauline to grow taller and taller. Her clothes struggle to keep up, but enough stay on as she seemingly grows towards the sky. Pauline pushes close to 200 feet tall when the growth finally stops and she finds it fun as she warps (with DK riding her shoulder) back to New Donk City. While Pauline has her giant fun in the city, Diddy and Dixie go visit Void Kong to get the real story behind the weird Banandium…
