Chapter Text

Rise Leo's POV

My day started out great. Me and Mikey were skateboarding, Raph was reading a comic, and Donnie was in his room doing whatever he does that keeps him in there all day.

I clapped as Mikey landed a double kickflip. I picked up my board and made my way to the top of the ramp. As I started my way down the ramp, I heard Donnie yell something.
I looked down to see Donnie standing in the path my skateboard was taking me. I yelled, "Donnie, watch out!"

But it was too late. We ended up in a pile on the floor. I got up from my place on top of Donnie, "Dude, watch where your standing!"

"Sorry, Nardo, I came to tell you people about something I found." Donnie said, glaring in my direction.

"What is it, Donnie?" Mikey asked.

"You'll have to come to my lab, " Donnie motioned to the room.

I walked over to Raph to tell him to meet us in Don's lab. He nodded and shut his comic. I walked over to Donnie's lab. I stepped inside and-
WHY IS THIS MUCH PURPLE NECESSARY!!
I stood next to Donnie. He was leaned over his computer, typing up a storm. He looked so focused. Donnie was technically my twin. At least that's what dad told us. We're the same age. You wouldn't believe we're twins because Donnie's a softshell and I'm a red-eared slider. Anyway, Donnie looked up at me and my other brothers.

"So, I found something that really interesting. I was looked at areas general power usage and found something strange. There was a large power surge near the empire state building," Donnie raised one of his drawn-on eyebrows.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Raph asked, genuinely confused.

"Basically something huge is happening," Donnie leaned back in his chair.

"I suppose you want us to check it out?" I said.

"Yeah, I guess. But I'm going to head the to the inside to find out where it could have possibly came from. Nardo, use your newfound responsibility to actually get things done," Donnie stood up and grabbed his staff.

"I guess that means time to head out!" Raph said and he left the room.

"Let's go!" Mikey said happily as he walked out the door.

"Why are you going off on your own?" I asked

Donnie sighed, "Because I have a general idea of what's going on, and I hacked all the security cameras in that area to see where it came from. I just know what's going on, Nardo."

I opened my mouth to protest but then just said, "I guess that does make sense. Have fun with your solo mission!"

We got ready to leave, grabbing our weapons and such. We all hopped in the Turtle Tank. Donnie drove us a couple blocks away from the Empire State Building and then abandoned us there. Raph and Mikey started their way to an alley next to the building. I soon joined them.

We scoped out the alley next to the building. I perched on a ledge under a window to get a look inside. I spotted the two foot-faced idiots that ran the foot clan. I saw a crowd of foot ninjas, but I also saw a whole group of people in all black ninja suits with pieces of red tied around their forehead. Near the front, there was a girl. Her hair was chopped with black on the top and blonde on the bottom. Next to her stood a man that was wearing spiked armor. He looked like Shredder but more human. On the other side of him, a mutant dog stood. Behind them, a big glowing blue circle that looked like a portal was closing. From what I could see inside the portal thing, there was robots on the other side.

I turned to Raph and Mikey, “The foot seem to be up to something.”

Raph responded, “Yeah.”

As he walked over to the building, and arrow with a rope attached shot past him, embedding itself in the wall. He jumped back in surprise, staring intently at the arrow.
I looked around the alleyway to see where it could’ve come from. I caught sight of no one. When I turned back to Raph and Mikey, arrow flew into Raph and he was soon unconscious.

“Raph!” Mikey yelled, running over to his brother’s side.

I kept looking up and down the alleyway, trying to find the source of all this trouble. I unsheathed my swords in preparation for whatever was coming. I turned the other direction, facing away from Mikey, only to turn back to him at his sudden yell.

Standing behind Mikey with an arrow to his neck, was a girl with light brown hair in a bun and piercing blue-green eyes. Her skin was a warm beige color. A black mask was cover the lower half of her face and she was wearing a longsleeve black turtleneck with black leggings and Doc Martens along with a black backpack on her back. As I stared, she tightened her grip on Mikey. He looked petrified, as if he would burst into tears any second.

I raised my swords higher in the air. She didn’t let go of him. I said, “Listen, I get it if you’re mad at us for trespassing, but let go of Mikey.”

“Put your weapon down first,” the girl said sharply.

I lightly placed my swords down on the floor, “Now let him go.”

“Fine,” she said and took her arm away from around him.

Mikey ran over to me and stood next to me. I gave him a reassuring glance and turned back to the girl. She was looking at Raph with a meaningful expression, likeshe wanted to help him.

“Hey!” Mikey said, “What do you want from us?”

“Currently nothing, except for maybe a place to stay,” she said, still examining Raph.

“No, you- wait, what?” I said, bewildered by this strange request.

“Yep. That’s really all I need from you, Leo,” she said, looking at me and walking over to Raph’s unconscious body. I was genuinely surprised by this. I never said my name, and neither of my brother’s said my name while she was present.

“Hold up, how did you know that my name was Leo?” I asked.

“Your mask. And your katanas. Plus, you called him Mikey and Mikey called him Raph. But that means…” She trailed off for a second, checking Raph’s pulse, “Where’s Donnie? What happened to him? Do we need to save him because if so I am down!”

“No! Donnie’s fine! He went into that building,” Mikey said. “Also is Raph ok? Why did you do that to him?”

“Raph will be awake in the next five minutes. And I did that because I’ve been taught to always go for the bigger first with a surprise attack,” She looked over at us. “So can I please go back to the lair with you? At least I’m assuming you have a lair.”

“Explain yourself. What’s your plan?” I said. I was so suspicious of her and her intentions.

“I’ll explain myself when we get to the lair,” she folded her arms, looking side to side.

“Um… no,” I said.

“You do realize that I will find your lair eventually. It’s in the sewers, right? Oh, and it’s kind of on the edge of the city, so you can leave without being spotted?” she shrugged.

“How did she know that?” Mikey whispered.

“I’m a friend, I promise!” She reassured us, reaching to take her mask off.

“Guys?” I heard Raph from his trash pile.

Mikey and I rushed over to him. We helped him onto his feet. Raph took in the environment. He looked at the girl and went tense.

“Who is she, Leo?” Raph asked, “We need to get in disguise! She’s a human.”

I responded, “It’s too late for disguises, plus she’s obviously not fazed by us, stop worrying. She’s the one who knocked you out. We’re taking her back to the lair and-”

“We’re taking her to the lair!?! Leo, she knocked me out!”

“She’s a friend, she only attacked you so she wouldn’t get hurt associating with us.” I explained.

“Can we please just go?” Mikey said, “I’ll go leave a note on the Turtle Tank for Donnie.”

He headed over in the direction. Raph swayed off of me to confront the girl. She winced as her raised his hand to point at her. “Who are you and what do you want from us?”

She looked genuinely scared at his fist. She backed away and said with her head down, “My name is Alena Yerdes, I can help you with your foot clan problem.”

“What foot clan problem?” Raph looked confused and concerned for the seemingly scarred girl.

“I can explain everything back at the lair,” Alena said.
“Fine,” Raph came to a conclusion. I’m guessing it was after seeing her reaction to a fist raise.

We made our way through the sewers to our newly built lair. Recently, when the Kraang took over, our home got destroyed. It’s fixed now, obviously. We made our way to the living room and sat on the couch.

“Ok, explain everything,” I leaned back in my chair.

“So basically, I’m from another dimension, similar to your. I have a teenage mutant ninja turtles team in my dimension too, to whom I happened to be acquainted with. I know you might think this is a whole joke, but I promise it’s the truth. The portal that Leo saw back there was a portal that Shredder and his cronies went through,” Alena looked serious.

I felt like I should believe her. Though, Shredder? We beat him forever ago. I leaned over the table to look at her “So in your dimension, the teenage mutant ninja turtles didn’t beat Shredder yet?”

“You guys have?” Alena’s eyes widened.

“Yeah, like a year ago,” Raph said.

“Well, I guess your universe is 10 steps ahead of ours. So how I came to be here is a long story. Basically, I was captured by the foot clan in my universe and I escaped when I came through the portal.”

“Interesting. Now, who was that girl back there? The one who was with Shredder? And what were those robot guys that were on the other side of the portal?” I asked.

“Number one, those robots are the Kraang. We’re really behind on that if you have already beat them, we thought we beat them, but I guess not. Number two, that girl near Shredder was a girl named Karai. She’s his daughter.”

“Ah, yes Karai is our age and works with Shredder?” I laughed at what seemed to be a joke. Then I saw Alena’s furrowed brow and tight lipped frown. “You’re not joking are you? Karai works with Shredder?!”

“Yes, she does and what do you mean by our age?” Alena cocked her head to the side.

“Karai’s our grandma!” Mikey blurted out.

Alena spit out the water she was sipping.

“Yep,” Raph said.

“Well, I think we should get to more of this when Donnie gets back. I’m going to go clean up,” she motioned to her now drenched front.

She walked over in the direction of Donnie’s lab, carrying her backpack. I watched her go meanwhile Raph hesitated, considering stopping her.

“Don’t! That’s Donnie-” Mikey yelled, but I covered his mouth with my hand.

“Just let it happen, Michael,” I said.
