The description of Hob's plus one to his friend's wedding:

"Grace is nothing like her namesake: she’s taller than Hob, with the sort of biceps you’d expect from someone who hefts barrels for a living, but tonight she’s resplendent in a bloody red evening dress of silk satin and lace. She’d only agreed to accompany him if he would purchase her the most ridiculous and fancy hat that he could find; now she’s wearing it with pride, and apparently to great intrigue and fanfare. Grace (or, more accurately, her hat) is surrounded by a gaggle of other women cooing over the dozen red silk roses sewn into the hat’s crown, and the iridescently black figure of a raven swooping out of the whole crimson mess like an avenging angel. He watches as she grabs a bottle of champagne from a passing waiter and pulls the cork out with her teeth, then uses it to top up the glasses of her crowd of giggling women."
