Chapter Text
Robin was a self proclaimed hopeless romantic. She just loved love, and loved seeing others in love. Her favourite movies to rent from work were the really cheesy and cliché ones. She just couldn’t get enough of them, regardless of how much Steve would complain when she’d pop one into the VCR to play whilst they were working at The Family Video Store. If she looked deep enough (which she’d really rather not do, thank you very much) then she would most likely find that her obsession with romance may be due to the lack of it in her own life. Sure, she had crushes on other girls. Tammy Thompson had been in the number one spot until Steve had helpfully pointed out her muppet-like qualities. However, after their latest nightmare in the Upside Down, Nancy was quickly stealing that position. There were two problems with that unfortunately. The first being the same issue she had with all of her crushes, namely, the object of her affections being straight. The second was that Nancy was Steve’s ex, and Steve was her best friend. Best friends don’t date each others exes. That’s just basic BFF code.
Their latest battle against monsters and Vecna had been their toughest yet. A lot of them had walked away worse for wear and close to death. For a moment, they really thought they were going to lose Eddie and Max. Thankfully, they were a tough pair and both managed to pull through. Max was adjusting to being blind and Eddie to his new (unwanted) knowledge of the Upside Down. He had also been granted his freedom and innocence from Hopper. That was another thing, Hopper was apparently alive and back in Hawkins now. Hopper wasn’t the only one back. The Byers family and El had also come back home.
With these fresh nightmares and narrow escapes from death’s clutches once more, Robin had hoped it would give her friends the much needed kick up the ass to sort their shit out. Apparently not, as she was now forced to watch them all awkwardly dance around one another. With her appreciation of romance, and deciding that life was too short, Robin took it upon herself to help her friends out.
