by JemerylHELL YEAH if you like action and/or woman this is a jam-packed fic sure to please. It's got a VERY badass Fuyumi who develops her skills in powerful ways, and also shows off her abilities as a general "face" with adept social skills, even in a situation as high-stakes as being semi-undecover with the yakuza. This was also fabulous to read for Midnight; why COULDN'T she have faked her death in canon so she could do things like go undercover with the yakuza???? It makes me happy to see her alive and active, still being a hero but taking a new method.
Though there are fun and cute times between Fuyumi and Nemuri (and also various struggles in both the initial fake dating stage and later navigating some other complications in their relationship), there are also high stakes throughout in other realms, especially the climactic final battle which me on the edge of my seat. There's so much fighting and struggling to survive, it requires badass levels of dedication for Fuyumi and Nemuri to get through it, but it's worth it to (eventually) reach a happy ending together. Note the tags, there are some heavy topics and scenes that might not be in everyone's comfort level, but for me I found all the pieces worked well together and added to the emotional highs and lows.
If you like action, girls, smut, and complicated emotional relationships then open up this fic and settle in for a fantastic ride.
