The Plane of Euthymia was loud, lots of fighting and blood scattered through the floor. The Balladeer went into the Plane of Euthymia somehow and sought a battle with the Archon of Inazuma.
This was also the moment of probable death of the 6th Fatui Harbinger, The Balladeer.
He was on the ground, body trembling but his eyes were cold and full of resentment. For the one who was about to strike him, was his creator.
The first person that he trusted but also the one who threw him away to the cruel world and he never knew why.
He didn’t care because it didn’t matter now, he closed his eyes, waiting to die as the light of the legendary sword that was called the “Musou No Hitotachi”, was about 2 inches away from his head. He heard the sword’s glow disappear and the Archon stared, not coldly like she normally would. It was.. different, very different.
The stare felt like she wanted to end something between them that anyone could think ‘It’s impossible to fix.’
Ei sighed and sat down with the Balladeer.
“Kunikuzushi.” She called out, waiting for a reaction.
The Balladeer’s forgotten name, lost in the past. He held back the reaction Ei was expecting. She’s not surprised.
“I apologize for.. hurting you.”
The Balladeer froze.
Was this some kind of sick joke? A trick? Was this something to say just so she can get a rise out of him? It wasn’t funny and it wasn’t fucking amusing.
“I apologize for leaving you in the dark and for not caring what you would do with yourself once I let you go. I shouldn’t have left you without telling the reason why, it was immature of me and I realize it now. I regret it, everyday when I think about you, I worry. I’m not sure if you find this pleasing or some other feeling but I still want you to know that I’m very sincere with these words. Even though I can’t change the past, I want to be a better parent figure for you from now on. I won’t leave without any reason, I’ll listen to your words, and I’ll be here for you now.”
The last statement struck Scaramouche.
He raised his head, tears formed and a look of pure confusion filled in his face.
He needed a moment and Ei knew it, so she waited.
Waited…
And waited…
And waited.
Suddenly, Scaramouche hugged Ei. Even though he didn’t call himself Kunikuzushi, he knew who he was.
He wasn’t useless, he wasn’t less of what he already was. It.. It was just a large misunderstanding..
Ei just patted his back while trying to shush him, “Shh, it’s okay. You’re okay, I’m here..”
Now the Plane of Euthymia was quiet, only the sounds of reconciliation flowing in the air.
