Felix lost the ability to speak as Dimitri approached. There was nowhere to go but into the baths, the steam curling against his back like a warning. Fighting, too, seemed beyond him; impulse drowned out by morbid, desirous anticipation.
Dimitri came to a stop. He was closer to Felix than he needed to be—inches away, a mere handspan. He leaned down just so, gloved fingers coming up to rest gently along Felix’s chin, the lightest impression of leather. Felix sucked in a breath at that, what he saw coming. He looked into Dimitri’s determined blue eyes, utterly caught.
Dimitri tightened his fingers. He said, “Stop me.”
As it turns out, yielding to one's opponent doesn't always mean losing.
