Welcoming a New Family Member

Summary:

Freddy and Monty didn't think something like this could happen, especially after Freddy's previous experience. However, Freddy's body says otherwise.

You'll have to forgive me if this is terrible writing. I don't usually write about Mpreg stuff, and I don't know how to write robots.

If you don't like this type of stuff, you don't have to read it.

Chapter 1: The News

Chapter Text

Freddy was given a rude awakening by a sudden yet intense wave of sickness.

The bear slowly and groggily got up from his spot on the bed beside his gator husband, Monty. For the first few seconds, he was only uncomfortable until those few seconds ended with Freddy feeling a violent urge to run to the bathroom and vomit profusely.

He half expected it. This sickness has been reoccurring for about a week.

The bear’s sudden jump from the bed caused the peacefully sleeping alligator hybrid to shift, wake up, and turn his body in the direction where his husband ran off. Monty looked at the alarm clock beside him and saw it said it was about 12:04 am. He quickly got up from his own spot and cautiously yet quickly followed his husband. Once he got to the bathroom, the sight made him even more concerned.

The bear was haunched over, vomiting violently as he gripped his stomach with one hand, and the other had a firm grip on the side of the toilet. Monty walked closer to Freddy as he put a gentle hand on his shoulder and rubbed his sick husband’s back. The noise of approaching footsteps made the couple slightly jump.

In the doorway, a brown-haired boy’s head poked into the bathroom with concern filling his hazel brown eyes. Damn, the commotion must have woken Greg up. Monty thought. “Hey, Pa, are you ok?” The child asked. Before Freddy could get a word out or even move, he vomited even more.

Monty looked and walked up to Gregory. He crouched down to the boy’s level, kissed him on the forehead, and said, “It’s okay, Greg, just go back to bed.” Gregory nodded and headed to his room.

After watching the boy close his bedroom door, the gator went back to his sick husband’s side, rubbing along the bear’s back.

Freddy’s vomiting lasted for a good while. Time seemed like it was dragging itself with how slow the sickness lasted.

Monty sat on the bathtub’s edge as it was beside the toilet. The gator pulled out his phone and saw that the time was 5:31 am.  Over 6 hours had passed with today’s sickness just like it had been every day this week.

“This has been goin’ on fer ‘bout a week. Ah’ thinks it’s time to call Doc, Teddy.” Freddy responded by nodding and leaning in between his legs. The sickness must be over

The gator unlocked his phone and went to his contacts, scrolling until he saw the name he was looking for, Dr. Margaret Foxlove, and called her. It wasn’t until the second ring that she answered his call.

“Hello, Monty, How are you?” A soft and caring female voice with a British accent spoke on the phone. She must have been awake a while.

“Heya Margaret, Ah’m fine, but Ah’ma need you to give Freddy a check-up. He’s been vomitin’ throughout the mornin’s fer a good week.” He explained.

“Hmm, I see. Okay, why don’t we do this: you both meet me at the clinic at about…..8:00, we can start with a discussion and then, if its fine with Freddy of course, we could do physical exams and a few scans maybe, depending on what I see during the exams. How about that? Is that alright with you both?”

The bear and the gator looked at each other before agreeing to the doctor’s suggestion. “Sounds good. Thanks, Margaret.”

“Oh, of course, Monty. See you both at 8.” The doctor replied before ending the call.

They arrived at the clinic after dropping Gregory off at Chica and Roxy’s place and entered the waiting room. It was five minutes to 8:00. They were early, and Margaret could be ready anytime.

Speaking of Margaret, her voice spoke up from the doorway of her office, “Freddy, Monty, you can come in now.” In the opening stood a tall fox hybrid wearing burgundy-coloured scrubs and a doctor’s coat. She also had hair that covered the right side of her face like the left was shaved.

The bear and the gator stood up and entered the room. The duo couldn’t help but look around the room at how big and extravagant it was. But, of course, Monty grew up with her, so he wasn’t too surprised.

Margaret gestured to the chairs in front of her desk, signed on to the computer, and pulled up Freddy’s health profile. “So, let’s talk about some of your symptoms. The vomiting, you say that’s been happening for a week? How long each morning does the vomiting last?”

“Well, for about over 6 hours. This morning’s sickness started at about 12 o’clock to 5:30.” After Freddy finished his answer, Margaret began writing it down.

“Ok…..anything else? If you think it’s important, don’t be afraid to tell me.”

Margaret noticed Freddy shift in his seat slightly before speaking. “Well…,” He paused to think. “I have been feeling a lot of fatigue. It’s like I’m tired, even if I’m well-rested. I have the frequent urge to urinate, cramps, and my period is late.” The grip he had on Monty’s hand got a little tighter. Monty looked at Freddy with concern, seeing the worry in his husband’s eyes.

Margaret wrote down the symptoms and looked at Freddy as she thought about the diagnosis and how to confirm it. “Freddy, could I do a full physical and pelvic exam?” Anything to know about his health.

She gestured to the examination bed behind them. “Well, let’s get you settled onto the examination bed.”

Monty held his hand as the bear sat on the bed. The doctor started with a complete physical exam by checking Freddy’s blood pressure and weight. With every exam she did, they brought her to the diagnosis she initially thought. Next was the pelvic exam.

After ensuring privacy from outside the room, she tells the bear to remove his pants and boxers and lay on his back. Freddy did as described, washed her hands well and put on a pair of gloves. She brought the stool to the end of the bed and asked Freddy to open his legs, to which he did. After a moment of feeling around, the fox pulled out her hands, took off her gloves, and asked Freddy for an ultrasound. Freddy answered with a yes.

The doctor left the room to retrieve the scan, leaving the two hybrids a moment to themselves.

“Hey, Teddy. Everythin’ okay? Nervous, Ah’m guessing?” Monty asked the visibly anxious bear.

Freddy took a shaky breath and looked up at the gator. “Mont….” his voice cracked as his eyes became glassy. “What if….what if there’s something wrong with me, like something seriously wrong?”

“Hey, Hey, It’ll be alright, okay? We don’ know what it is yet, so let’s try and stay calm until we know what it is, alright?” Monty reassured the bear, who smiled back at his husband. Margaret reentered the room with an ultrasound scan. With a warning, the doctor grabbed the gel, squirted a little onto the bear’s abdomen, used a stick connected to the machine, and slightly moved it around.

“Alright, Let’s see here….” As she looked at the screen, her mouth formed a smile on her muzzle. “Well…Freddy, there is something there, but this ‘something’ is a good thing.”

Freddy and Monty were confused. They looked at each other before looking back at the fox more confusedly.

Margaret sighed and told them, “Freddy, you’re pregnant.”

……

“What…..?” Both Freddy and Monty asked in unison. “What do you mean I’m pregnant?” Freddy asked with a hint of disbelief in his voice.

Margaret sighed again. “Look, I initially thought that it was pregnancy from the symptoms you described: late period, morning sickness, fatigue, the frequent urge to urinate,” She listed each symptom as she used her fingers to point them out. “And to confirm my thought, we did the pelvic exam and ultrasound.” The doctor grabbed the side of the ultrasound monitor and turned it to face the couple. She pointed to the screen where the anomaly was. “Right here…That’s your baby. It doesn’t look like one yet as you are only about a week, but over nine months, it will develop into a baby.”

As they looked at the thing, Margaret pointed at, their expressions of confusion changed into expressions of joy.

Freddy looked down and gently placed a hand over his abdomen. “I-I can’t believe I’m pregnant.”

The bear looked at his husband, and his smile grew wider after seeing the gator’s tail wag as he looked at Freddy’s stomach and placed his own hand on top of his husband’s.

Monty used his free arm and wrapped it around his husband’s body, and pulled him close with a hug. The bear also saw the tears forming in his joyful eyes, much like his were.

A new chapter in their lives opened, and they couldn’t be happier.
