And they were roommates,

Summary:

Where the truth about the bedroom discussion is revealed.

Alternatively, Yin just wants the bedroom with the sunlight.

Work Text:

The boys sat quietly as they watched the couple in amusement. The elder was walking around the kitchen, closely tailed by the younger who seemed to be intent on getting his attention.

“Any idea what’s going on?” Prat asked, tilting his head in confusion when he was met with twin smirks. “What?”

“One thousand, War gives in by today.” Bonnadol challenged with a mischievous glint in his eye.

“I like the sound of that.” Bever laughed slyly. “I think he’ll let Yin plead more and give in by tomorrow.”

“You’re underestimating his weakness to Yin’s pleading.”

“And you’re underestimating how stubborn he can be.”

“You’re on.”

“Can someone explain what’s going on before we start a betting pool.” Prom shakes his head, raising a brow at the two. “Some of us have given up on trying to keep up with those two.”

“Well, remember how Yin wasn’t here when we picked rooms?” At the nod of the other boys, Bonnadol continued. “It seems like he picked a room from the photos but War picked the same room on moving day. Now he maintains that his room was stolen and that he wants the room with the sunlight.”

“But didn’t he say he wanted a dark room last time?” Win asked curiously, flinching when Bonnadol and Bever looked at each other and laughed.

“Exactly.”

----

“Anan if you don’t stop.” War whined when the younger closed the door behind him. “For the last time, I’m not giving you the room.”

“But I will oversleep when the room is dark, this room has good natural light.” Yin reasoned, plopping down on the unmade bed.

“Draw the curtains then.” War replied, hands on his hips as he glared at the man sprawled on his bed. “And get up, I need to make my bed.”

“You never make your bed.” Yin deadpanned, laughing when a slipper came flying towards him, hitting the wall behind him. “Why are you mad? It’s true.”

“Anan Wong, I’m warning you. I need to sleep.”

Yin smirked and straightened, leaving enough room on the bed next to him. “There’s plenty of room over here.”

“You’re really testing me today.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

War’s glare was met by mirth in Yin’s eyes, locking them in a staring competition that the latter ultimately won.

“I’m only letting you stay because I’m too tired to argue with you today.” War said with a resigned sigh, crawling on the bed next to Yin. “We’ll continue this later.”

“Sure. Whatever you say.” Yin replied happily, letting War move closer until his head was tucked under his chin. “Tired?”

“Very.” War said with a slight nod, voice muffled. “Since I’m being so nice by letting you stay, you’re going to be my pillow.”

Yin chuckled, hands coming up to rub soothing circles on War’s shoulder. “I’ll take it. Now go to sleep.”

“This discussion isn’t over.” War yawned, tucking his head closer and wrapping his arms and legs around the younger like a koala. “I’m not giving you the room Anan, no matter how good you are at pleading.”

"We'll see about that."

----

"Now tell me again what this is about but slowly." Aun massaged his temples, leveling his two artists with a stare. "And logically."

"I picked the room with the sunlight, but he-" Yin points to War, who only stuck his tongue out at him. "-stole it."

"Nycha said the room was free, so I picked it because I like it. Besides, I've moved all my stuff there, it would be a waste if I move them all again." War reasoned.

"My room is right next to yours." Yin countered.

"And that's why it's all just going to be a big hassle. Just let it go Anan."

"But-"

"Okay stop." The manager said, raising a palm to end the impending argument. "Let me get this straight, you both want the same room."

"Correct." Yin replied with a nod.

"But Yin didn't you take War's old room because you said you wanted a dark room?" Aun asked the younger with a raised brow. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

"Uh-"

"Exactly!" War exclaimed. "I don't understand why he changed his mind about the kind of ambiance he wants. I told him he could always draw the curtains."

The manager looked between the two men in front of him, finally putting certain pieces together.

"Yin, you wanted War's old room." Yin nods. "Now you want War's room?"

"Technically supposed to be my room, but yes."

"Do you want the room or do you want the occupant." Aun whispers to himself.

"What was that?" War asked. "Sorry I missed it."

"Nothing."

"So see, we have a problem here." War pushed, pinching Yin's shoulder and making the man scrunch his face in faux pain. "He's being a brat."

"I don't think we have a problem here." Aun replies. "I think there's a very simple solution to it but I'll let Yin tell you about it."

"Will he surrender the room?"

"No."

"See! It's a problem." War continued, glaring at his partner who seemed to be unbothered by it all. "What do you have to say for yourself?"

"I could always move in with you." Yin smirked.

"Yes he could always-" War stopped, slowly turning his head to look at Yin. "What?"

"Simple, I don't have a problem with my stuff in the room. I just don't like the fact that it's too dark. I can always sleep in your room and move some of your stuff in my room." Yin said with a shrug.

"And there it is." Aun sighed, standing up to leave the couple alone.

"Where are you going?" War asked in panic.

"This seems more of a marital discourse and I didn't sign up to be a marriage counselor. Figure it out by yourselves." He said and walked away, leaving a stunned War behind him.

"Did he just-?"

"So what do you say?" Yin smiled, leaning his head on the table to look at his partner closely. "I would stop bothering you."

"Was this your plan all along?" War squints at Yin who only smiled secretly.

"No."

"Liar."

"Perhaps. But will you let me move in with you?"

"What do I get from it?"

"A good roommate?" Yin replied, huffing when War only continued to look at him. "Also a great pillow and blanket."

"You're going to make me a bolster." War whined.

"Means I'll be your blanket. It's a win win situation."

"I'm not yet convinced."

"Then I'll have to keep trying."

----

Prat knocks at Yin's door, confused when it doesn't open, especially since he knows that the other was home.

"He's not there." Nycha said as she passed by. "Try the other door."

"What? Okay."

He knocks at War's door and the owner opens it slightly.

"Yes?"

"Is Yin here?"

"He is. Come in." War opens the door and sure enough, the man he was looking for was sprawled all over the elders bed, looking like he belonged there. What got his attention though, was Yin's stuff piled around the room and his pillows on War's bed.

"I moved here." Yin answered, as if answering his silent question.

"Moved here?"

"He wouldn't let it go, so I said he could do whatever he wanted and before I knew it, all his stuff was in my room." War complained, not sounding the least bit upset about their new arrangement.

"Okay. One moment." Prat pulled out his phone and sent a quick message, prompting a series of footsteps to descend the stairs. In a second, the boys of the house were at their doorstep.

"Is it true? Did you let Yin move in?" Bonnadol asked, at War's nod he smirks and turns to Bever who handed him a few bills. "I told you so."

"I can't believe he's so weak."

"Excuse me?"

"He pleads and you already gave in, you didn't even give it a day." Bever complains, raising his hand in surrender when he sees the look that War was giving him. "I'm just saying."

"Why are all of you in our room?" Yin asked from the bed.

"Our room." Win teased. "I see."

"What about it? It's our room now." Yin replied, standing up and pushing them all out of the door. "Good bye."

"Hey-"

The door closes and the lock clicks into place before any of them can protest.

"I can't believe his plan actually worked."

"I can't believe War was dense enough not to get what he was trying to say from the beginning." Their manager interferes when he sees the group of boys around the couple's quarters.

After a chorus of nods, the boys disperse back to their rooms leaving the manager to shake his head at the now locked door.
