Work Text:
—————
Wednesday, 5:00 pm
“One two three four. One two three four. One two three four. Claire, put your foot a little higher.”
“Yes Miss Patel.”
“Cassandra, very good. One two three four. Come on girls, it’s our last lesson before the Spring gala on Saturday night. Everything needs to be perfect. One more time. One two three four.”
Miss Patel had been the ballet teacher at the Gotham Dance school for the past twenty years. She was the best teacher at Gotham’s best school. Cassandra had been taking two lessons a week, and they were getting harder because of the upcoming spring gala. The gala was the second most anticipated one per year, following the Christmas events. When Cass looked at her teacher she could see confident-content-proud.
“Good work ladies.” Miss Patel clapped her hands “Rehearsal is over. Keep practicing at home and don’t forget to come in Saturday afternoon at four for the last rehearsal before the show.”
“Yes Miss Patel.”
Cassandra went to the changing room. The other girls in the class started chatting as they changed. Sacha came up next to her. They were the same age and Sacha was her only friend in the class. The young woman from Crime Alley reminded her a lot of her Amazon friend Yara Flor. She was happy-tired-glad.
“Hey Cass, is your family gonna come to the premiere?”
Cass nodded. She signed “and you?”
“Mine too.” Sacha smiled at her. “My parents and little brother are coming. Is someone picking you up?”
“Yes, Alfred is here.”
“That’s cool!” She and Sacha finished changing in silence when the teen heard some other girls talking.
“She can’t even fully talk, what is she doing here? She’s gonna ruin the whole gala!”
“Of course she’s here. Don’t you know her parents? Even if she were deaf and blind, Daddy Wayne would have paid to get her accepted.”
It wasn’t fair. Cass was working hard on her communication skills. It had only been three years since she learned to talk, and she had made a lot of progress. Signing was just sometimes easier than talking. And she wasn’t here because of her dad’s money. She was good at dancing. Cass wished she could have said that. She also wished she could have broken Claire’s nose, but if she did that she wouldn’t be allowed to attend the gala.
And why was Claire talking about her parents with so much disgust?
Sasha frowned. “Hey, Claire! Instead of talking behind her back you could talk in person! Coward,” she turned to Cass. “Don’t listen to her. She’s just jealous because you’re better than her.”
Cass nodded. Sasha was angry-tired-angry.
“Come on Cass, let’s get out here!” Sasha threw her bag over her shoulder and waited for Cass to leave.
Alfred was waiting for Cass next to car. The two young women said goodbye and Cass went to the butler (happy-peaceful-love).
“Good afternoon Miss Cassandra. Did your lesson go well?”
Cass nodded.
Alfred had driven for the twenty minutes when he frowned and looked back at Cass. “Is everything all right Miss Cassandra? Is something wrong?”
Cass sighed. “It’s Claire. She,” Cass frowned and started to sign, “she said mean things. Like, it’s because of dad’s money that I’m at the school.”
“That Claire girl must be stupid to not see your talent.”
“Sasha said to not listen to her. That she’s just jealous.”
“Miss Sasha is a very wise young woman.”
Cass nodded.
“Miss Cassandra, when you say Claire, it’s Claire Nelson, right?”
Cass nodded again.
Alfred sighed. “It seems stupidity runs in that family’s veins.”
“Why?”
“Because, Miss Cassandra, Claire’s mother Margie is a very mean woman. She was in the Gotham Academy PTA when Master Jason was there. She gave a lot of trouble to your parents, especially your dad. She believed that Master Jason wasn’t good enough for the school because of his past, and that your parents weren’t a good example for the other kids. Your brother would call her a Karen, I suppose.”
Cass frowned. “Why were dad and papa not a good example?”
“Because she’s homophobic, my dear. One time she crossed a line and your dad managed to get her fired from the PTA.”
“So Claire is mean like her mom,” Cass murmured. “I knew I should have broken her nose.”
“Not that I disagree but, Miss Cassandra, you should listen to Miss Sasha. Claire is nothing but trouble and it would be incredibly sad if you couldn’t do the ballet because of her.”
“Don’t worry Alfred. I won’t let anyone stop me from dancing.”
Cass was going to spend the next few days in the manor’s dance studio to prove to Claire that she’d gotten her possession through merit, not her name.
———
After dinner around nine, Cassandra was repeating the first sequence of steps to the choreography when she heard a knock on the studio’s door. She paused the music on her phone.
Her dad frowned (curious-tired-loving). “Cass, sweetie it’s getting late. You should take your pre-patrol nap.”
Cass started signing. “I’m not going out. I have to train for the ballet.”
“Okay.” Bruce smiled “So I assume you’re not going on patrol at all until Saturday?”
The teen nodded.
“Okay. Have fun practicing.” Her dad kissed her forehead (proud-happy-love). “Go to sleep early too. You won’t be able to dance if you don’t sleep enough.”
“Sure. Be careful on patrol.”
Bruce promised and left the room. Cass un-paused the music and started practicing again. She needed to perfect the first two cross steps. After three hours of work the teen went to bed.
—————
Thursday, D-2 Before the Gala
The next day Cass woke up to her alarm. She changed and went to the dance studio, stopping first at the kitchen to eat a small breakfast. An hour and half after she started rehearsing her papa knock at the door.
“Cassie?” (tired-confused-love) “What are you doing this early? It’s not even half past seven in the morning. You should still be asleep.”
Cass signed, “I need to train for Saturday.”
“Okay, but don’t overwork yourself kiddo.” Clark still had his mug of coffee in his hand.
“You’re going to the Planet?”
“Yes, I am. I need to edit my article one more time and present it to Perry so he can publish it.”
“Okay. Have a good day,” Cass waved.
“Thank you.” Her papa was now love-proud-love. “And just so you know, your dad is still sleeping and won’t be up until ten am. I’ll tell your siblings not to bother you.”
Cas nodded. She put the music back on after Clark closed the door and restarted the first sequence.
———
Five hours later Cass was so deep in her repetition that she jolted when Jason knocked at the door. She could see he was nervous-embarrassed-love.
“Hey Cass, Papa and Dad told us to not bother you but,” Jason bit his lip, “I just wanted to check with you. You told me I could bring a plus one at the ballet, right?”
Cass nodded.
“Would it be okay if I bring Roy and Lian? She’s only three, but she’ll sit on Roy’s lap, so she doesn’t take an extra seat.”
Cass nodded with a smile. “Of course. You really like him.”
Jason blushed. “Yeah, I do. It’s really new but he makes me happy. They both make me happy. Thanks Cass. Sorry for the bother.”
Her little brother closed the door and Cass went back to work.
Cass took a break for lunch. She joined her family at the table in the dining room. Only Dick was missing but he would home the next day.
Clark took a sip from his glass. “So, Cass, is everything good?”
Cass frowned and signed, “I need to work again.”
“You’re sure? You’ve been working non-stop since your last class.”
“I need to be perfect.”
Bruce put his fork down. “You know, Sweetie, you could take a break. At least for tonight you don’t have to dance.”
Cass look at her dad. “I’m fine. I don’t need a break.”
“Okay. If you say so I believe you.” She could see her dads didn’t believe her. They were worried-concern-love.
They didn’t need to be worried. She was fine. Tired, but fine.
———
After three hours of work on the second sequence Cass was starting to repeat the third sequence of steps. This one was a full cross step behind and a triple step. At the second sequence the music abruptly stopped. Steph was crossing her arms. She was worried-confused-love.
“Cassie, you need a break.”
“No. I don’t need one. Put the music back, I’m working.”
“No you’re not.” Steph went closer to her friend. “You’re exhausted, your brothers are worried. They told me you only leave this room to eat and sleep. That’s so unhealthy.”
“You don’t understand. I need to be perfect.”
“Since when? You’re already perfect Cass.”
Cass pinched her lips.
“Cass, what’s wrong?”
“A girl, Claire, she said I was only at the school because of dad’s money. And she said other mean thing.”
“Okay. One, she’s stupid. Two, give me her full name, and Jay and I will take care of her.”
Cass smiled “No. I want to do it my way.”
“Okay, but don’t worry Cassie. The Crime Alley Club has your back.” Steph smiled “Now come on, Babs is waiting up for a sleepover.”
The two girls left the room and went to Cass’s room. On the way they crossed paths with Bruce (happy-confused-love).
“Hey, were you going?”
Steph smiled. “I’m kidnapping Cass. I’ll restrain her at Babs’s apartment.”
“Okay,” Bruce chuckled, “have a good kidnapping Cass!”
Cass nodded. “My kidnapper is really scary.”
Bruce smiled (love-proud-happy), “I’m not worried, I’m sure my princess is fully capable of managing the situation.”
Steph snorted, “and you’re right old man! Cassie is capable of anything. Now come on Princess Wayne, our Lady and Savior is waiting for us!”
———
Bruce went to the living room and found Clark sitting on one of the couches with his laptop on his lap. “Cass is spending the night with Steph at Barbara’s.”
Clark sighed. “Good. I was starting to get worried. She barely left the room since her last class.”
“I know. I was worried too. Timmy and Jay made an excellent choice in calling Steph.”
“Yeah.” Clark went back to typing his article as Bruce took a book and started reading using his husband’s shoulder as a seat back. Suddenly the reporter stopped typing and frowned.
Bruce smiled at his husband. “A penny for your thoughts Boy Scout?”
“How would you feel about having a cat?”
“A cat?” Bruce raised an eyebrow. Sometimes his husband was truly bizarre.
“Yeah, a cat.” Clark shrugged. “How would you feel about it?”
“You know I’m a dog person Kent. Why would I want a cat?”
“Nothing, just asking.”
“But if you want an animal we could get a dog.” Bruce murmured, “I always wanted a German shepherd.”
“Really?”
The Bat hummed.
“Saturday, before the gala, we could go get a dog. And surprise the kids when we return home.” Clark smiled. He could already see their kids’ joy.
“Yeah, that’s not a bad idea. And we could train him for anxiety or panic attacks for us and the kids.”
Clark elbowed him. “See Bat furry, smart ideas aren’t only yours!”
Bruce snorted and went back to his book with the sound of his husband working on his article.
———
The two girls arrived at Barbara’s apartment half an hour later. The librarian opened the door. “Hey you two!” She was happy-love-calm.
“Hi Babs!” Steph smiled.
Cass waved.
“So Cass, how has your practice been going?”
“Good. I still need to work on a couple of things.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Barbara moved next to the couch where Steph was already sitting. Cass sat next to her.
“So what are we watching?” Steph had taken the remote.
Barbara went to the kitchen and made the popcorn. “Whatever you two want.”
The younger hero looked at her friend. “Cass?”
The teen signed. “You choose.”
Steph sighed, “great.”
Cass looked at her friend. Steph was happy-relaxed-love.
The first batgirl came back with the two bowls. “So what are we watching?”
“Back to the Outback.”
Barbara hummed “Seems fine with me. Cass, what do you think?”
The second batgirl nodded, and the movie begin with Steph loudly eating the popcorn.
—————
Friday, D-1 before the gala
The two young heroes spent the night at Barbara’s appartement. Steph had to leave early since the apartment was further away from the school.
Cass was eating breakfast when Barbara hummed. “Steph told me about a problem with a girl at school. You know you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone, especially her, that you’re good at dancing, right?”
The teen hummed. “I know. But what Claire told me really hurt.”
“You and I are different, it’s true, but that difference is not supposed to stop us. We are capable of anything.” Barbara smiled “And that girl wouldn’t last a second in a fight against you. You’re better than her in every way Cass.”
“Thank you.”
“Now, take care of yourself and don’t get overworked.” Barbara was smiling (love-proud-excited). “I can’t wait to be there tomorrow. You’ll be great!”
Cass left an hour later and went home around eight. She went to the dance studio ready to the continue her practice, but the room was already occupied. Cass was surprised to see her little brother sketching. Weird, Tim preferred photography and his camera to drawing. Her little brother was content-nervous-tired.
Tim lifted his head when he heard his sister’s footsteps. “Sup. I know you need to focus; I’ll leave if you need me too.” (nervous-content-love)
“No, it’s fine. How long have you been up?”
Tim checked his phone. “Two hours. The treatment for my insomnia is really working.”
“Cool!” Cass smiled and put the music on her phone. After two hours of exercise Tim was still doing his drawing.
Cass paused the music and sat next to her brother. “What are you drawing?”
“A future project.” Tim took a deep breath. “When Dami’s ready I’ll give him the Robin mantle. I know I still have time, but I got the idea in my head when I woke up and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I even got the name.”
“Really?”
Tim hummed “Cardinal.” (excited-nervous-content)
“I like it.”
“Thanks. I haven’t told anyone yet.”
Cass nodded. “Take your time. Your secret’s safe with me.”
“What about you? You’re okay? I never saw you working this hard for a ballet.”
The older teen sighed. “I wasn’t okay. At the end of my last class a girl named Claire Nelson said mean things to me about how I got my place at the school and about how I rarely talk. I talked with Babs, and she really helped me. I feel better now.”
Tim smiled “I’m glad to hear that.” (happy-proud-love)
He spent the rest of the morning doing the different sketches for the costume and Cass worked on the third sequence.
Around midday Clark knocked at the door. “Cass, Tim, lunch is ready.”
“Thanks Papa. You coming, Cass?”
Cassandra nodded.
“I’m just gonna put my notes book in my room and then I’ll coming.” Tim left his sister and started walking to his room.
“Everything okay Cass?” (worried-love-concern)
Cass looked at her Papa. “At first I just wanted to practice alone. I was a bit frustrated that everyone kept bothering me, but now I’m happy they did.”
Clark smiled (Happy-love-proud). “I’m glad you’re happy Cassie. Now let’s go eat.”
———
After lunch and two hours of work, Cass decided to take a break and go walking in the garden. She walked to the part that was devoted to Martha Wayne’s roses. Alfred told her that her dad’s mom would take care of the roses herself.
Damian was sitting on the bench next to them, drawing (happy-nervous-love). “Cassandra.”
“Dami, how was your day?” Cass needed to figure out why her baby brother was nervous.
“Fine. Alfred managed to heal the roses.” Damian frowned and took his gum. “They were sick for a couple of weeks. Baba was worried.”
“I’m glad to hear they’re doing better.”
Cass sat next to her baby brother and noticed a ball of black and white fur curled up next to him. She tilted her hair.
“Is that a cat?”
“Yes. It’s a cat.” Damian blushed. “I found him next to a trash can two days, near my school. Baba and Papa don’t know yet.” (happy-nervous-happy)
Cass started petting the little cat. She didn’t tell her brother that their Papa must’ve known about the cat thanks to his super senses.
“I named him Alfred. Alfred the Cat.”
Cass chuckled. “That’s a really cool name.”
Damian smiled “Thank you.” (happy-happy-love) “Are you going back to practice?”
“Not right away. I need a break.”
“Good. I read that if a dancer trains too much they can hurt their feet. You need to be careful. It would be a shame if you hurt yourself before tomorrow.”
The teen smiled. “Thank you for worrying.”
Cass stayed with her baby brother for another hour. She went to the dance studio to work on the fourth sequence. It was the hardest. There was a full back step and a cross step with two full turns and one jump with an open leg.
Cassandra worked until Alfred called for dinner.
———
After dinner Cass decide to do a short practice session and start working on the jump. An hour later she stopped the music. She loved dancing and she didn’t want it to turn into a chore just because of Claire.
Barbara was right. Claire didn’t know a thing about her. She didn’t know the abuse she had survived. She didn’t know Cass was a hero who she saved people on a daily basis. She didn’t know that Cass had helped save the world.
Cass was better than her. She didn’t need to prove that to Claire.
Cass had started dance because she loved it. No one could take her love away from her.
———
After a quick shower, Cass met her family in the theater room Dick was there with Wally, his boyfriend.
“Hey Cassie!” The acrobat hugged the dancer (happy-happy-love) “Dad told me you were training; I didn’t want to bother you. I know what that feels like.”
Cass smiled. “You would never bother me.”
“The kids haven’t bothered you much? Jay loved watching me train.”
“No, it’s fine.”
“So, are you ready for tomorrow?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Good. I can’t wait to see you.”
“And you? The kids in your class are good?”
Dick smiled. “I’ve got class of 3- to 5-year-olds and another of 5- to 10-year-olds. They’re really great. They love gymnastics. It’s really good to teach them.” (happy-proud-love)
The family had a How to Train Your Dragon marathon with all three movies. After the marathon everyone went to bed. Tonight Batwoman and Batwing would patrol. No one wanted to be injured and miss the gala.
—————
Saturday D-Day gala
Cass woke up and looked at her alarm clock. It was eight am. She decided to get up slowly and do her work out routine. She did her last solo training session around ten, and during the last sequence of steps her phone buzzed. Sasha had sent her a text.
Hey Cass! Ready for tonight?
Hi Sasha, I’m ready. And you :)
Born ready!
Don’t forget we have to meet at four
at the school for the last practice.
No problem, see you later :)
See you Cass!
Cass turned her phone off and decided to stop practicing for the morning and went to the library. She took a book and started reading it in her favorite armchair. Two and half hours later Bruce knocked at the door.
“Cassie, lunch is ready.”
“Coming.”
When Cass arrived everyone was sitting at their places. Clark was passing the salt to Jason. “When are Roy and Lian supposed to arrive?”
“Around six. Roy still has to do a couple of things. They’ll meet us at the school.”
Dick passed the soda at Tim. “So, Timmy, how’s Bernard?”
“He’s fine. He was supposed to come tonight but something came up with his aunt.”
“Ah, well, another time.”
Jason smirked. “Yeah. Can’t wait to meet Prince Charming.”
Bruce sent a look at his son. “Jay, don’t antagonize your brother.”
Damian looked at Cass. “How did you practice go?”
“Fine, thank you.”
When Cass look at her brothers, she could see happy-love-content. Her parents on the other hand were more happy-nervous-love.
Her dad cleared his throat. “Papa and I will drop Cass off at the school and then we’ll do to town. We’ll be back in an hour and a half. I trust the four of you to stay alive.”
Jason narrowed his eyes. “Why are you going in town? It’s not grocery day.”
“We need to buy a couple of things for tonight.”
Dick crossed his arms. “Really? Like what?”
“Some things.” Bruce wished his kids would leave him alone. He was never capable of lying to them for long.
“Some things.” Jay smirked “Ya know, if you two need some time alone at the penthouse you could just say it. No need to bullshit, dad.”
“Jason!” Bruce blushed. “Your brother is here. And fifty cents in the jar!”
All the kids giggled except for Damian, who was a bit confused.
Clark tried to keep a serious face. “What your dad is saying is that tonight, after the gala, there will be a surprise. We need to go into town to get it.”
Tim smiled. “Really? What is it?”
“A surprise. And if you ask too many questions or, I don’t know, follow us then the surprise will be cancelled. Am I clear?”
Jason sighed. “Yes Papa. Crystal clear.”
———
Bruce was driving the car to dance school “Ready Cass?”
The teen nodded.
“We’ve arrived. The gala will start at seven. We’ll all be sitting at our places, but Papa and I will try to come find you in the backstage.”
“Okay, see you later!”
Cass got out of the car and waved at her parents. Her phone buzzed. It was Sasha.
I’m changing. You?
Outside. I’m coming :)
Cass joined her friend next to her locker. “Hi Sasha!”
“Hey Cass!” Sasha was smiling (happy-excited-nervous).
“Your family is still coming?”
“Yep, and yours?”
Before Cass could answer, she heard Claire loudly talking. “The Gotham Princess has arrived!”
Sasha crossed her arms. “Ya’ve a problem Nelson?”
“My only problem, Hernandez, is that Princess Wayne here is going to ruin everything!”
Cass looked at Claire. She was sad-hurt-angry. “I don’t care about what you think Claire. I know I’m good at dancing and so are you. So why can’t we work together instead of fighting?”
Claire widened her eyes. “You think I want to work with you? You’re stupider than I thought.” The blond girl left the room and went to the dance floor.
“Wow.” Sasha snorted. “You okay, Cass?”
“I’m fine.”
“She’s a real ass.”
Cass titled her head and remembered Claire’s body language. “Do you know if Claire’s family is coming tonight?”
“Dunno, and honestly don’t care. Now come on Cassie, Miss Patel is waiting for us.”
The two teens left and joined their classmates. Miss Patel made them do all the choreography two times with a break between each set.
“Girls, it’s now time for the ballet. Go take a shower and get changed and be ready for the premier.” Miss Patel was smiling (proud-content-proud).
Half an hour later everyone was ready. Some parents were backstage, and Sasha was with hers. Cass heard her Papa calling.
“Cass!”
“You ready sweetheart?” Her dad was beaming (proud-happy-love).
“Yes, I’m ready. Everyone’s here?”
Clark smiled. “Your brothers, Steph, Barbara, and Alfred have already sat down. Roy, Lian, and Wally too.”
“Girls!”
Cass turn her head and saw her teacher calling everyone. “I have to go.”
“Okay, have fun onstage!”
Both of her dads kissed her on the forehead before she left to get ready.
Clark took a deep breath and saw, out of the corner of his eye, a blond head passing by. Margie Nelson. If Bruce saw her he would go insane. The reporter took Bruce by the arm and made him turn around. “Hey, how about we go back to the kids?”
Bruce pouted. “Already? But I thought we could watch Cass a bit more.”
“Yes already. Now come on, before they kick us out!”
Clark took his husband’s hand and together left the backstage area. They arrived at their seats. Bruce had Jason at his left and Clark at his right. The detective sniffed the air and titled his head toward his son.
“She’s here,” Bruce murmured, “Margie Nelson is here. I can smell her stupid perfume.”
“Yep. And just so ya know, her kid said crap things to Cass,” Jason murmured.
“I’ll take care of her.”
Clark gently elbowed Bruce as the red curtain rose.
———
At the end of the show everyone clapped. The Wayne-Kent family found Cass backstage. Bruce had brought a big flower bouquet. “That was wonderful Cass!”
Tim nodded. “You were so great!”
“Really beautiful,” Jason added.
Damian had stars in his eyes “It was like you were flying!”
“Told you you’d be great!” Babs was smiling and Steph was next to her, nodded. “Yep! Told ya!”
Dick hugged his sister tightly. “I’m so proud of you.”
“We’re all proud of you,” Clark beamed
All her family was proud-love-love.
———
Once the family got home from dinner and Steph and Barbara returned to their own home, Bruce called the kids. “So, Papa and I have a surprise for you all. It’s in the den.”
The kids started running and even if Cass was tired she still won. She tilted her head. “Is that a dog?”
Tim and Damian beamed. “A dog!”
Jason turned his head so fast that Clark got worried about whiplash. “We have a dog?”
“Surprise!”
Dick pouted. “It’s so unfair! I spend my entire childhood begging for a dog and now that I’m gone you’ve gone and gotten a dog!”
Tim smirked. “Yeah, thanks for the work Dickie!”
The kids started cuddling the big German Shepard. Roy preferred to keep Lian close to him.
Bruce came closer to the dog. “His name is Ace. He’s a therapy dog. He can help with panic and anxiety attack.” The Bat looked at Roy with a smile. “And he’s great with kids.”
Roy came closer to the dog and Jason helped Lian pet the dog.
Tim smiled. “I wouldn’t be against another surprise like this one.”
“Me too.” Cass nodded.
Clark smiled. Their children were really happy with the dog. The reporter only hoped that Ace would get along with Alfred the Cat. He wondered how long Damian would be able to keep the secret.
————
Sunday
Bruce woke up with the sun and the feeling of fingers in his hair. He turned his head to see his husband already checking the news on his WaynePad with one hand and petting his hair with the other.
“Morning.”
“Morning. Love? Can you please tell me why Wayne Enterprises has bought Nelson & Co, Margie Nelson’s company?”
Bruce sighed. “Because she’s a cruel woman with a cruel daughter that said cruel things to Cass.”
“Okay, great.” Clark kissed his husband’s head.
Bruce turned around and looked at Ace’s basket. “Clark, Darling, why is there a cat next to Ace?”
“I don’t know. You should ask Dami.” Clark was still focused on his pad.
Bruce narrowed his eyes. “Is that why you asked me about having a cat?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Love.”
Bruce grunted. “It’s too early for this.”
———
Cass woke up peacefully. The ballet went great and now she’s sure that Claire won’t bother her again. The young women went to the kitchen where her brothers were already eating. Jason was giving Lian a pancake while Roy drank his coffee. Dick was eating his cereal next to a half-asleep Wally. Damian and Tim were murmuring about the cat and where he could have disappeared to.
Cass sat at her place and look at the boys. They were all happy-content-love. It’s good to see that. They had all been through so much, they deserved a break.
After years of running and killing Cass was happy to finally be able to do what she wanted to do, to learn different forms of communication then violence, to learn love and dance. Following Batman in the darkness and the rain three years ago had been the best decision of her life.
Their parents arrived ten minutes later with their dad holding the missing cat in his arms. Damian blushed and explained the whole situation. The cat leapt from Bruce’s arms at the sight of Damian and ran to sit on the boy’s lap.
The Wayne-Kent family spent breakfast in peace. Cass was happy after the years of violence and sadness. Cass was happy-proud-love.
