The Tale of MK

The gauntlet should be strong enough to release the great sage equal to heaven's staff from the mountain. The power the gauntlet has hold hasn't been tested but the red-haired bull demon has summarized that it should have enough power to bend the staff to his will. But all of his efforts are thrown into the mud when the monkey king showed up and destroys his gauntlet. Not even giving him a chance to try to lift the staff up. There was only one monkey in the scene and an army of bull clones. Despite being outnumbered. Monkey King manages to destroy his army. He and his mother have no choice but to flee back to the bull demon fortress

When the large swirl of flame dimmed the mother and son duo arrived in their beloved ancestral home. The crown prince glance to the left, to stare at his mother. The long ebony haired woman gritted her teeth, gripping her red dress due to anger. Making the fabric wrinkled. "No worries mother. We will figure out another solution to free father." the red haired bull demon consoled.

The matriarch glared at her son, "How long?! How long should we wait to get my husband back?!!" Princess Iron Fan shouted.

"Soon mother!! I'll try to find another solution soon." Red Son quickly replied to ease her anger.

"Try isn't good enough!!" she snapped, and Red Son flinched.

The long ebony haired woman take a deep breath and exhaled, trying to calm herself down. She then smiled at her only son. Placing both of her hands on his shoulder. "Listen to me son, mother is very tired. As the sole heir to the demon bull clan. You must be able to solve our clan's problems. We rely on you, son." she said sweetly. But her stare isn't as warm as her words.

"We understand that it's a difficult task to free your father from his imprisonment. But you must do it. You must solve our problem. Wouldn't you do it for your poor mother?" she pressured.

"Yes, mother." had muttered. "Good, good... Keep doing your best son." the long ebony haired woman muttered before walking away and disappearing into the hall. Once Red Son couldn't see his mother's silhouette, he slammed his fist to the wall once, turning twice and then he keep repeating it. Transferring his stress to the wall. The burning sensation on his knuckles didn't stop him from hitting the wall again and again. Because the storming rage and anxiety have clouded his mind and numbed his rationality.

The red haired demon always resorts to hitting and destroying things to extinguish his inferno rage. Luckily, the demon bull clan's residence is built with the strongest material to host the bull demons in their clan. Not even his punch could leave a dent in the wall and door. If it weren't for the finest material in the architecture, there would be a lot of repairment bills throughout the year. Most bull demons are large and strong. They fight like a berserker in the war. They're stubborn and easily angry. And then there's Red Son. The son and sole heir of The Demon Bull King. Neither large nor physically as strong as his father. But strong enough to be recognized in the demon realm for his inferno flame.

"Sir?" one of the demon bull clones said. "Not now. I am busy." the red haired demon stated before heading to the ancestral library. Hoping that there's an answer to his problem. That his ancestors did place something in the library that could grant him enough power to free his father and to reunite them as one whole family.

Standing in front of the library door. Red Son glare at it as if the giant double doors are mocking him. Reminding the red haired bull demon of the height difference in his clan. Pushing the door open. He left it just like that, wide open, and not bothering to close it back. Inspecting from shelves to shelves for a book that could solve his problem.

"Maybe what I need is not some artifact... Maybe what I need is someone that is strong enough to aid me in my task." the red haired demon muttered. Takes a thick old book out of its shelf and walks to the desk. Placing the book down and opening the page. The book cover looks old and fragile. With a little bit of force, the book cover can tear down like tissue. The pages inside the bookshelf are yellow and thick. The writings on the papers are still handwritten with an old brush instead of a mechanical pen. This book contains information about a lot of demons and celestial being back in those days.

The bull demon clan collected that information for preparation if any potential enemy strikes. Red Son took his time to read one by one. There is a lot of interesting information that could be found in the book. Currently, he is reading the celestial monkey section. There used to be a lot of celestial monkeys under the commands of Monkey King. "I wonder what happens to those guys..." Red Son muttered.

Red Son stopped when he stumbled across an interesting page that catch his eye. Amongs the old papers, this seems like it's recently added. There's only one page of information. Most demons or celestial beings have at least three pages of data. But this one only has one. 'MK' is written on the top page, and below the name are written a few titles belonging to the said celestial monkey. 'Monkie Kid. Monkey King's Successor. Six Eared Macaque's Successor. The Star.'

If Sun Wukong is the sun, and Liu Er Mihou is the moon. MK is the star. Trained by the great sage equal to heaven as his apprentice and successor. He is The Monkey Kid. He is known to be able to wield Rúyì Jīngū Bàng, Monkey King's legendary staff. All of his power is the same as The Monkey King. There was a time when Sun Wukong left and Liu Er Mihou replaced him to train the great sage's successor.

Could be read on the top page. There are no drawings or descriptions of what MK could look like. In the middle of the page, "Monkie Kid's era didn't last long when tragedy struck leaving The Monkey King no choice but to seal his successor away." Red Son read.

The bottom of the page only has a theory of where the monkie kid could have been trapped. "This looks promising." Red Son muttered. "All of his power is the same as The Monkey King," he repeated the words written on the page.

If the red haired demon could find this thing that the monkie kid is sealed into. He could make a deal with the former apprentice of the monkey king to release his father from the mountain. "Flower and fruit mountain." Red Son muttered when he read that the possible location is near the caves around the flower and fruit mountain.

A few days later, Red Son's bull clones informed him that the great sage have left the mountain to who knows where. The fire elemental demon doesn't care. The monkey could burn himself to ashes and Red Son will just stare at his slow death process. It's a perfect timing that the foolish monkey decided to leave. Because the red haired bull demon planned to sneak in to explore the caves with only a single piece of paper that he tore from an ancient book to guide him. Hopefully, his mother won't notice it because he rather not bring the fragile book with him. So in his rush decision he tore the page that he needed.

His ancestors, well older generation of the demon Bull clan. He has no idea which generation. Whoever they are, their name isn't written on the book. They assumed that Monkie Kid is sealed away somewhere in the caves where Monkey King avoided the most. "Probably due to guilt and lost of his heir." Red Son mumbled when his vehicle landed to the bottom of the mountain. Red Son activates the camouflage mode on his vehicle and starts exploring the caves near the sea. It's the closest for the bull demon to explore first.

That part of the cave is oddly quiet. Usually, wild animals would take the cave as their home. Near the sea to hunt. And large enough to have a colony in it. Suspicious to rise in him. But he didn't hesitate and walked confidently to the cave and a backpack on his back. He hopes that he could explore all of the caves before the meddling pest back from who knows where. The front part of the cave is clean. If you ignore the sparkling shells collection cluttering around the white sand of the cave. As if someone purposely gathering them there to give it to someone.

The longer he walks inside the darker it gets. Red Son snapped his finger to light fire on his hand like a torch to inspect the dark and cold cave. It seems like his assumption is right. Because there are also shells scattered inside the cave. The fire elemental demon couldn't help but shiver. Getting the creepy vibe of the cave.

But he already risked his life by trespassing so he wouldn't make his effort in vain. Walking deeper into the large cave to a narrow space reminding of a small hall, he arrived into a large space. With only the fire as his source of light. Red Son knows that it would take forever to inspect with that small fire. Lighting a bigger fire on his hand. The former dark cave shined. Revealing paintings on the wall and a few pieces of furniture and items inside.

On the wall there's a dusty large painting of three monkey. On the left is undoubtedly is the monkey king. On the middle is a black furred monkey with red headband and orange outfit .On the right is another black furred demon wearing a black cloak with red clouds decorated on the bottom of the cloak, Liu Er Mihou. "That must be Monkie Kid." Red Son concluded before looking around.

Besides that painting there also a few smaller painting on the same wall. There's a wooden table where paints, candles and brushes that are unorganizely placed next to it there's a lot of cabinets. A wooden sofa and low table could be found on the middle. A red hammock hang on the other side of the cave. "Is this where he lives?" Red Son sneered. Seems kinda cold and lonely to stay at a dark cave. Red Son gets closer to the sofa. There's nothing there. Only an old and uncomfortable sofa that looks like it would crumble away.

Red Son then walked to the dusty hammock and found a brown wooden box with a small rectangular glass on top of the box covered with dust. Red Son wiped away the dust with his fingers that's not on fire. Revealing a red headband hiding inside the wooden box. "Is this..." Red Son said staring at the box in his hand and then the painting on the wall. "Yours?" he asked but only to be greeted by the gentle breeze as if nature is trying to whisper him the answer that couldn't be heard through his ears, that the red headband does belongs to Monkie Kid.

The fire elemental demon has no idea where his impulsive thoughts come from. Despite knowing that the red head and inside the wooden box would be covered in dust he still wanted to touch it. Opening the wooden box, Red Son grabbed the headband out of the box.

In the speed of light, the red haired bull demon get startled when he saw a purple silhouette stretches out of the headband shadow and travelled around his arm before going down to the floor and rushing to the cave wall. Forming into a bigger silhouette of a celestial monkey. Two cresent eyes silhouette formed on the purple silhouette. "Thanks for letting me out!!" the silhouette grinned, chuckling when the fire elemental demon stares at the shadow in shock.

Red Son unconsciously gripped on the red headband in his hand. "Are you Monkie Kid?!" Red Son demanded for answer.

"You can call me MK. And you are?" The silhouette's smile stretch into a mischievous smirk. "Red Son, son of The Demon Bull King and Princess Iron Fan."the red haired bull demon formally introduced himself to the stranger.

"Now that I freed you, you must help me in return-" Red Son ordered "Temporarily." The silhouette cuts. "What?" The fire elemental demon said.

"You only freed me temporarily, so why should I help you?" the former apprentice of the great sage equal to heaven said folding both of his arm in front of his chest.

The red haired bull demon hair glowed. Turning bright orange with a mixture of red. Small flames danced on the tip of his hair. "Arg!! Fine I'll help to free you from your pathetic imprisonment and you'll help me in return." Red Son negotiated.

"This is the best deal you could ever get. It's not like there are any crazy bozos who would dare trespassing monkey king's territory." The red haired demon sneered.

"Of course there are." The silhouette demon's laughter echoed in the cave.

"And who would that be?" The red haired demon raised one of his eyebrows, questioning the other demon.

"You." MK laughed.

"Shut up, monkey boy. I am not crazy. I am powerful enough to trespass as I please. Now will you help me or I leave you here to rot?" Red Son threatened. Glaring at the silhouette on the cave wall. The flame on the tip of his hair glow brighter.

"And how would you know if I will or won't rot after you leave?" The successor of the shadow manipulator laughed.

Red Son shrugged, "I don't, but I could always leave and see what happens. Not like it will affect me.". The red haired demon turned around and about to leave, "Okay, okay I'll help you!! Geez, I was just joking. Don't take it too serious, red." The silhouette said in hurry. The red haired bull demon grinned with pride that he manage to strike the deal. The dancing flame on the tip of the bull demon's hair slowly dimming down. "It's Red Son, not Red." The fire elemental demon corrected. "Red Son, Red, all the same thing." MK said.

"But just a warning. I'll help you as long as it doesn't involved with killing, harming and endanger others. Because it's against my morals." MK explained, while showing three fingers up in his shadow form.

"Fine. So how do I free you? Just a warning. If you betray me, I'll burn everything you love to ashes. It will turn into steaming dark ash that you won't even recognize it's former form ever again." Red Son said impatiently. The silhouette shrugged. "To tell you the truth... I have no idea how to free myself." MK said giving an awkward grin to the fire elemental demon.

"You're telling me that you don't know how to free yourself but you want me to free you." One of Red Son eyebrows twitched in anger.

"Okay fine it does sounds bad!! But we got time to figure things out." The imprisoned celestial monkey said.

"What I know is that I've been trapped for a very long long time in that headband. Technically, ever since you grabbed my headband, I am free. But only temporarily. As you can see I am in my shadow form. I can't use my real form for some reason. Weird... maybe it's part of the seal." The former apprentice of The Monkey King explained.

"So if I do this." The red haired demon said and let go of the headband. The silhouette disappeared and the red headband falls down. The fire elemental demon kneeled down to the ground and grab the headband again. And the familiar silhouette of MK appeared on the cave wall again. "Okay, don't ever do that again!! It feels really weird." the imprisoned celestial monkey suggested and shook his head no.

"Okay, I get it now. Your temporary freedom only works if someone hold your headband. So in the meantime you're stuck with me." Red Son concluded and tied the long red fabric on his arm. "But just until we know how to free you permanently." The Demon Bull Clan's heir stated.

"Sounds fine to me." MK agreed.

"So tell me, is it possible for you to hold The Monkey King's staff in your shadow form?" Red Son asked as he made his way to exit the cave. The fire elemental demon want to make sure that he didn't enter the cave in vain. The main point is to free his father. The silhouette followed him, nodded. "Yeah, why asking?".

"Great, I need you to help me pull The Monkey King's staff out of a mountain." Red Son said, his smile gleaming with excitement that this is his ultimate chance in freeing his father. A reunion between father and son.

"Why do you need it to be pulled out? Just a reminder I am against killing and harming innocent people." MK reminded the fire elemental demon once again in case he have a short memory term.

Red Son groaned, "Yeah, yeah, I get it, you and your righteous ideals. I won't tell you to harm anyone. I am telling you to help me free my father."

"The great sage or whatever, sealed my father under a mountain with his precious staff. It's been five hundred years since I last saw him. I want him to be freed." Red Son complained.

"DBK is still under the mountain?" MK asked.

The red haired demon frowned, knitting both of his eyebrows together to glare at the shadow. "Yeah, got a problem with that?!"

"No, it's not that!! It's just... it's been five hundred years... and that's so long ago." The former apprentice of the great sage said. "Shouldn't that be enough punishment? I thought that... DBK would be freed by now." MK muttered, sympathy laced on his tone.

Red Son sneered, "Yeah, right!!"

"He could even seal someone he thought as his brother under a mountain for five hundreds years. And then against all of those time he spent with his apprentice . He also sealed his own apprentice in his apprentice's headband. I am certain that he is a sociopath at this point." the red haired demon mocked.

"I know that he did a lot of mistakes. But can you stop mocking him? He tried his best." MK frowned not liking how the fire elemental demon mocked his former teacher. Even though Monkey King has trapped him in his own favorite headband. The apprentice only remember the good times the two of them have together. Sun Wukong is his idol, his mentor and best friend. Monkey King always encouraged him to be better. Monkey King always motivate him with positive words. The two of them loves to play with the cubs in the flower and fruit mountain and eat snacks together.

He wont let a single tragedy burn down those memories they painstakingly built.

'For being such a loyal apprentice, The Monkie Kid still get sealed away. I wonder what could have MK done to deserve it.' The red haired demon thought before sighing. Silently agreeing with MK's term. After the two demons get out of the cave. Red Son extinguished the fire on one of his hand and deactivated the camouflage mode on his vehicle. The red haired demon could finally go home to bring the great news to his mother. During the flight, the silent shadow finally spoke up. "Can you do me a favor?"

"Depends on what's the favor." the red haired demon muttered and concentrating on controlling the vehicle. "Can we keep a secret that I exist? I don't want anyone to catch the wind that MK is back." MK nervously said.

Red Son quickly press autopilot button and turn his seat around to stare at MK's shadow form. "Why not?" "It would be troublesome if my mentors and friends know." MK explained. "That could be managed. But in exchange, you owe me a favor." Red Son said.

"Thanks, Red Son," MK said before falling into silence again as he reflected upon his past actions. The flight was getting awkward. "So... Are you related to Sun Wukong or Liu Er Mihou?" Red Son asked out of curiosity and tapped his fingers on the arm chair.

"No. But they felt like family." MK said cheerfully.

'If you call two psychopath that try to kill each other are your family. Then you have a few loose screw in your head.' the red haired bull demon prince thought but didn't voice it out loud.

"Xing Xing." Red Son called. The silhouette of the sealed celestial monkey laughed out loud. "What? Isn't that your name? They called you The Star in the book." Red Son frowned.

"Only Macaque called me 'Star'. Did they write a book about me? That's cool!!" the silhouette grinned. MK remembers the time he spent with Macaque. He is a harsh training instructor, motivating the younger celestial monkey through provocation and mockery. Although the six eared demon is harsh, he is also affectionate in his own way. Calling his favorite people by nicknames, teasing and protective over them.

"Well, they only write one page about you..." Red Son said.

"Still... I didn't know that I am famous enough to be written in a book. Guess I am just that cool." the celestial monkey silhouette posed. The fire elemental demon snorted when he saw the goofy pose. "Hey, you should tell me something about yourself." MK suggested.

"Are you trying to gather information about me, Red Son?" amber eyes glaring at the silhouette.

"Yeah. We are gonna be partners until we figure out how to free me. So we should get to know each other." MK said.

The red haired demon hummed, debating on what he should let the stranger know and what he should hide from him. So far the fire elemental demon observation towards the former apprentice of monkey king and six eared macaque is that he is a positive minded person. MK smiles a lot. And that the sealed celestial monkey is very active when it comes to talking. He also have admirable moral standards that most desperate people lacking. In his few hours evaluation of MK personality. Red Son categorizes MK as harmless. The fire demon confessed, "It's not a secret that I love engineering and spicy food. What's your real name?"

"Qi Xiaotian," MK answered truthfully,

"Anyway, we should speed things up." Red Son decided to change the subject. Turning his seat around to face the control panel. He turn off the autopilot button and stir his vehicle to another direction. "We are freeing my father." The red haired demon announced. "Oh okay?" MK said quietly. The silhouette wondering around the vehicle gazing at the tall skyscraper and neon sign he never seen before. "There's a lot of things that changed, huh? Never saw that building before." MK mumbled.

The vehicle slowly landed on an abandoned construction site. The red haired demon parked the vehicle and walked out to face the mountain. "You sure that you can take the staff in your shadow form?" Red Son asked.

The silhouette travelled to the ground beside the red haired demon and nodded. "Yup. Just get closer to the staff." Trusting the silhouette's word, Red Son approached the staff. "Now place your hand on the staff." MK ordered. Red Son place his hand on the staff that's when he notice that there's a purple silhouette came out of the headband that is tied to his arm. The silhouette stretches out forming a silhouette of a hand on his skin before it touches the staff. Suddenly the heavy staff on his grasp become lighter and it's easy to be removed. So the red haired bull demon didn't hesitate to yank it up. Removing it from its spot. The ground beneath the fire elemental demon shook. MK quickly use his shadow form to pull the bull demon away from the mountain, startling Red Son.

The mountain in front of them crumbled down revealing a large bull demon. MK quickly hides in Red Son's shadow. Unwilling to reveal his identity to anyone at all. "Welcome back, father!! We should immediately heads back to our fortress and celebrate upon your return." Red Son greeted. Demon Bull King stare down at his son and noticed the monkey king's staff. "It seems that the staff deems you worthy enough to be held. Now let's head back." the patriarch demanded. Red Son formed a large swirl of flame around them and teleport them to the bull demon's fortress.

"Well let me inform mother upon your arrival, father!!" Red Son suggested but didn't manage to do that because his mother appeared soon after with a smirk decorated on her face. "Welcome back Demon Bull King." the long ebony haired woman greeted her husband. And then turning to the left to pinch her son's face. "Thank you for listening to your mother's request, son." Princess Iron Fan smiled sweetly. "Anything for you, mother." Red Son awkwardly smiled.

He didn't expect that it would take a while to collect more sea shells. But it should be expected because he did travel far away on his nimbus to get those shells. Special hand picked shells by himself. The efforts give it special meanings. The great sage equal to heaven sighed and fly back to his beloved mountain, where he spent most his time in with his nimbus. The orangish yellow sky, and sinking sun warning him that the moon and stars will soon rise. The gentle breeze try to like him to sleep. But he refuse the calming wind demands because there's someone waiting for him back home.

The nimbus stop in front of a familiar cave near the ocean. The brown furred monkey quickly jump down with a bucket of new sea shells on one of his hands.

He then calmly inspecting the front part of the cave cluttered with shells collection on the white sand. And this is his fault, he bring shells regularly to the cave, and it end up becoming a pile without someone recycling it.

This dark cave once resided by a black furred celestial monkey or more known as The Monkey King's apprentice. The cave used to be brighter with candles and lanterns lit up the dark cave and cleaner with fewer shells. But now this cave looks gloomy, cold and dark. Every time he visit the cave he stood in front of. He keeps getting flashbacks to  the old memories. For some reason he always expecting someone to call him to go inside.

He wished he is strong enough to avoid the cave. The avoid the painful feeling in his chest when he is reminded of him. But he couldn't. Due to longing for the teacher and student bond. The great sage himself keeps coming back to the cave with sea shells offering. As if it will help him communicate with his successor. It didn't but he loved to think it did help him.

The regular routine started. Monkey King walked into the cave placing the pretty sea shells on empty sands before entering the narrow cave that lead him to a more spacious cave. Lighting up the candles on the wooden table. To be greeted with the artistic art painted on the cave walls and the dusty furnitures in the cave. "Heya bud. Sorry I didn't visit you last month. Sorta busy. But hey, I got you more sea shells." the brown furred monkey apologized, sighing. The brown furred monkey can feel his headache starting to drill in his mind.

The black furred monkey eyes turning into crescent shape, bright smile decorated on his lip. "Monkey King!! Thanks for the shells, this will work well for the thing I'm working on." Monkey King's successor said, taking a sea shell on his hand and inspecting it from the light emitted from the candles.

"I'll help you clean up the place, okay?" the great sage said even though he know that no one will reply him. Its frequent for the monkey king to have flashbacks of MK.

"Don't worry. I won't organize your stuff. Once you're able to return, this place will look like the last time you saw it. But... With more shells." Monkey King said opening one of the cabinet to take out a cloth and start wiping the cabinet exterior to get rid of the dust.

"But that won't be a problem right? I remember that you love to turn those shells into art work." the brown furred monkey muttered. And move on to wipe the brushes on the wooden table next to the cabinet.  "Just wait a little longer, bud. And you'll be free in no time." Monkey King said and approaching the red hammoc where a wooden box should laid. The golden eyes monkey froze when he saw the wooden box is opened and the red headband that should be there is gone. That's when he noticed that there's another person footprints on the sand. "MK?" the great sage called in fear. "MK!!"

"Did they took him?! Or is it someone else?! But no one is supposed to know this cave!!" Monkey King shouted and quickly rush out of the cave. 'Why did I left?! Now MK is in danger.' Monkey King scolded himself in his mind.

The brown furred monkey tugs on his fur, "What should I do? What should I do?" he chanted in panic. The great sage equal to heaven looks up at the dark night sky. Dark blue resembling black. Twinkling among the stars are the moon. The golden pupils widened. 'Macaque." Monkey King whispered and rush to get on his nimbus to seek help from a former friend. Mixed feelings towards the six eared demon will be set to the side. Right now he needs to save their apprentice.

Flying on the nimbus in maximum speed it didn't take long for the monkey king to arrive at the shadow manipulator's home. "Macaque!!" he shouted and then barged in without waiting for permission of the house's host. "Ack!! Be quiet, would you?" the black furred demon hissed, covering his ears.

"You need to help me." the monkey king demanded.

The six eared demon frown turns into a cunning grin. "Who would have thought, that the great sage equal to heaven himself asking help from his former friend?" Macaque chuckled and sink into the shadow on the wall next to him before appearing behind the monkey king from the brown furred monkey's shadow. The six eared demon stared at the intruder. "You look desperate. Must be a big deal then~" the shadow demon hummed. "And why would you think that I would help you?" the shadow manipulator taunted.

The golden eyes monkey glared at the shadow manipulator, "Because MK is in danger." he told him. Macaque froze when he heard the familiar name of his apprentice that he hadn't heard of for a very long time because of the king in front of him. "Someone took him away. I don't know if it's the celestial realm's bastards or someone else. But we must save MK." Sun Wukong declared.

Macaque sneered, "Said the person that sealed him in his headband."

"You know that I don't have any choice on that matter. It's either that or they'll kill MK." Monkey King growled.

The black furred demon sighed, "Let's go and find MK. Do you have any idea where they might be?"

"My first suspicion is celestial realm." the brown furred monkey confessed. The celestial realm's people dislike Sun Wukong. Scratch that they hate him. But because they can't do anything to him. They took their chance in punishing his apprentice when a big tragedy struck. he black furred demon smirked and summoned his staff. "Planning to wreck the celestial realm like old times?" "Yup." "Classic Wukong." the shadow demon chuckled.

Chapter Text

The small family reunion was kept short. The matriarch of the demon bull clan family dragged her husband away so that he could rest a bit. While Red Son walked back to his room with the great sage’s staff. Once the large metal door slide shut behind him, Red Son glanced down to his wrist, there’s a thin silhouette stretching from the red headband tied to his arm to his fingers. The thin silhouette began to shrink and the staff in his arm become incredibly heavy. The red haired demon could only fall down side ways due to the weight of the staff.

A silhouette of the head band’s prisoner immediately emerged from the red haired demon’s shadow and lurk around the wall. “Your parents sure are intimidating~” the shadow apprentice commented ignoring the fact that he is the reason that made the demon bull prince fall down with the heavy staff. Yellow sparks began to emitting from the amber eyes of the red haired demon. “You could at least let me drop the staff first before releasing it, you fool!!” Red Son scolded the silhouette before getting up from the floor.

“Sorry Red.” MK said with a nervous smile. “Won’t happen again, promise!!” The silhouette said lurking around the wall nearest to the red haired demon. "You better be..." the fire demon muttered, leaving the staff on the ground and walked to his desk. The fire elemental demon sit down on his chiar and prop his arms on top of the desk.

"My opinion still stand though, your parents are intimidating. Especially DBK. Those long time imprisonment didn't soften Demon Bull King at all. He still seems very intimidating." The shadow apprentice commented.

"That's how you know that they're powerful." Red Son stated. "And one day, I'll be like them too. People will fear me just by my presence. Power, recognition, and respect that's all you need to have to be a powerful demon. And those three would be mine soon enough." the amber eyes demon explained to the silhouette. Leaning his face on his palm, making his arm as a pillar to support the weight of his head. Red Son stares at the silhouette with amazement. In the book, it's written that monkie kid is trained by the great sage equal to heaven and the shadow manipulator. The only thing he saw today is that MK is able to travel around any surface in his shadow. The former apprentice of the two famous celestial monkeys was able to hide around the shadows.

But this is the first time he saw the imprisoned apprentice shadow form dissolved and reformed into a mini version of what looks like him next to a throne and a small crowd of people shaking in fear. "If you do that, they'll respect you out of fear. And will start a riot." MK said, the silhouette of the small the shivering crowds turn stable and holding weapons pointing at the small silhouette of Red Son. The shadow performance ended as the small silhouettes melted and formed into the silhouette of the Monkie Kid. "You need them to respect you out of admiration, Red. Not fear." Red Son only shrugged as a response.

"So... What are we doing next?" The former monkey king apprentice asked.

"Mass production of bull clones and preparation plan to take over the world, starting with Megapolis." The red haired demon answered while scribbling his plan on his journal with a black ink pen. He paused his action and look at the ceiling, where the Monkie Kid decided to roam around. "But you don't need to focus on that. You only need to focus on supervising our surrounding for any suspicious meddlers." Red Son stated and continued to write on his journal.

"Okay, that's cool and all. But..." The silhouette said.

The bull prince sighed, "but what?". Wondering what could the Monkie Kid find problematic about his demand. It's the easiest task he had set for the shadow apprentice. To watch for any hero wannabe. "We agreed that I won't be doing any evil stuff that could injure anyone. And what you're trying to do is... screaming evil at me. Pure villain thing there Red Son..." The Monkie Kid explained, pausing for a while before adding "No offense.".

The look that the red haired demon give to the silhouette was a mix of impatient and confusion. Red Son place down his pen on his desk. "Okay, Monkie Kid. Tell me, who exactly am I?" The fire elemental demon questioned.

"You're Red Son..." The shadow apprentice said in confusion, not knowing why the red haired demon suddenly changed the topic.

"Now who's my parents?" The fire elemental demon asked.

"Demon Bull King and Princess Iron Fan."

"And are they heroes or villains?"

"They're villains..." The former apprentice of the great sage said.

"So that's make me a?" the demon bull prince asked. But with all the clues that the fire elemental demon had laid out for the other demon. The shadow apprentice still got his answer correct but not the answer that Red Son wanted. "A prince?" The shadow apprentice answered, knowing that DBK have king title and PIF have princess title.

"Okay, yes, but other than a prince. I am also a..." Red Son dragged the line.

Monkie Kid take a moment of silence, trying to think the answer to the fire elemental demon's question. "A son." The shadow apprentice decided that as his final answer. The demon bull prince pinched his own nose with the look of disappointment. "A villain, MK.... The answer is villain."

"Okay.... But there's still a problem. And that is I can't help you do all this villain stuff you're planning." The trapped demon's shadow folded his arm in front of his chest.

"We agreed that you won't do anything to injure or kill or endangering anyone. So don't worry your pretty little head about it." the red haired demon said. "Because I'll be the one that do all those 'villain' thing. And all you do is stay on guard. Hardly breaking our agreement." The amber eyes demon bull prince said, stating the loophole in their agreement.

The trapped monkey demon have no choice but to agree, with condition "Well.... I don't like it. But... Okay. But I don't want you to kill or heavily hurt someone." The silhouette on the ceiling said traveling from the ceiling to the wall nearest the red haired demon. "I'll try." The amber eyes demon said, not promising or agreeing to terms. But that's a good enough answer for the Monkie Kid.

Her name is Long Xiaojiao but preferred to be called Mei. She is from a prestigious family, that is famously known to be the descendants of the dragon of the west. People around her age would be busy. Busy with work and mental breakdown. But the dragon descendant doesn't have that problem. She have a few problems but those two aren't in her list of things she need to solve.

Her biggest problem right now is waiting for her best friend to come back. She believe that MK is innocent. He is just wrongly blamed for things that he didn't do. Knowing the great sage's successor for years. It's obvious that injuring innocent people is against his moral compass. But with evidences pointing at the monkie kid. There's nothing she could do, to help him. Even when she shouted, thrashing around to get to her best friend. No one let her get near to him.

It's naive to think that the people from the celestial realm are forgiving. The great sage equal to heaven himself have warned her, how cruel they could be. They wouldn't give MK a trial. They wouldn't listen to anything she said. When she is the only witness when the incident happened. They want to give her best friend death penalty. But the punishment changed when Monkey King suggested another punishment. She hate his idea. But it sounds better than the first one.

"His punishment will be death penalty." the armored man announced without an ounce of sympathy. "He is my successor, if anyone have the right to punish him. It's me." Monkey King sneered. The man glared at the brown furred monkey with a mocking smirk. "And let you give him a light penalty?". The great sage folded his arm in front of his chest, eyes starting at the other man with boredom. "Nope. I am suggesting that we seal MK in his headband for three hundred years. It would give him time to reflect on his action." Monkey King suggested.

It's been two hundred years without MK. She want to hate the monkey king for sealing MK. But he did his best to get his student out of the grim reaper's freezing clutch. Mei sighed and stare at the mirror. "Keep yourself together, Mei. We all been waiting for two hundred years, just another one hundred years more and we all will reunite like one happy team." Mei encouraged herself in front of the mirror.

Two hundred years ago she would have seen an energetic young woman. Short hair tied into two ponytail and two green streaks on each side of her hair bang. Now stood the same woman but her ebony hair is a tad bit longer, tied into a ponytail. The dragon descendant decided to head out, riding her white bike. Her desired destination is a tasty noodle shop, Pigsy Noodle Shop. She stumble upon this shop recently, during her regular bike ride, circling the town. She saw the bright neon sign on top of the shop, that stole her attention. The homemade noodle are tasty. And sitting alone there felt comforting. Especially due to the regular costumer that love to talk to the new customer.

Parking her bike outside, she head inside the soap. Like the usual the chef is scolding the special regular customer, "You need to pay Tang!!" The chef scolded the scholar, but still handing over a bowl of noodle to the freeloader. The scholar only smiled, "Pigsy, pigsy, Pigsy..." The scholar in red and white traditional outfit tsked.

"Of course, a good customer need to pay for the delicious delicacies that the chef cooked. And I paid main with my knowledge.." the scholar shamelessly said and fixed his glasses frame up.

"Your mythical knowledge don't benefit me at all, Tang." The grumpy demon said and began to wipe the other table clean with a wet cloth. For Mei who had seen this two often, she always thinks it's funny that the owner of the shop and the scholar act like old married couple. Their bickering always make the shop lively and comforting for the dragon descendant. The scholar refusal to pay the chef and the chef hands over a new bowl of noodle despite knowing he's not going to get paid. 'Man, MK would love to meet them.' she randomly thought in her mind. "Hey, kid. You want the usual?" The demon asked when he noticed the smiling dragon descendant. "Yep." Mei replied before sliding over to sit on the stool next to the scholar. "How's your day, Tang?" The ebony haired woman asked cheerfully. The chef on the background, placing away his cleaning supplies and goes to the back where the kitchen is located.

"It's fantastic, thanks for asking. So... How's your patrol?" The scholar asked knowing that Mei often circling around the town on her bike. He called it patrol as a joke to tease the dragon descendant. "Meh, there's nothing interesting going on in the town today." Mei shrugged. Pigsy finally came back from the kitchen and placed the freshly made bowl of noodle on the table in front of the dragon descendant. "Thanks, Pigsy." She thanked him. "Your welcome kid." The chef said. While eating the delicious noodle, Mei looks around the shop. "Usually your shop have more customer," the dragon descendant commented.

Pigsy sighed, "Yeah, but this is the new era, the era of advance technology and lazy people. Now most people have no time to go to the shop, take a seat and enjoy the environment. Take a minute to smell the sweet aroma of mix spices, and taste the food." Pigsy ranted and take out his phone, "Now everyone just want to order their food via app. But I don't have any staff to do all the packing and delivery for me. So business have been slow this past few days." The chef explained.

"Pigsy, I think it's time for you to hire somebody to help you in the shop." Mei said.

"I've been telling him that, for months!!" The scholar complained, agreeing with Mei.

"I don't know... I have to think about it." The chef said.

Notes:

Personally I think, typing this chapter is a pain. Because I want it to be at least 5,000 words and keep running into writer block. So I end up writing plot from Mei perspective. By the way this is dicontinued and up for adopt or rewrite by anyone who is interested because I already lose interest in this fanfic.
