Ren Amamiya: Confident, intelligent, suave, and cool, Ren Amamiya appears on the surface to be a good-looking, yet ultimately harmless individual (at least to those who don’t know about the time he was framed for assault) but he secretly moonlights as Joker, leader and Wild Card of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

Ryuji Sakamoto: A former track star whose leg was broken by an abusive gym teacher, inspiring him to join the Phantom Thieves as Skull to change his heart. Ann Takamaki: A rising star in the modeling industry with only partial Japanese heritage. Very emotionally intelligent except when it comes to matters of her own heart, as she learned when she started to fall in love with Ryuji.

Futaba Sakura: A skilled hacker and former shut-in now attending Shujin Academy after mostly overcoming her anthropophobia and trauma from her mother’s death, courtesy of the Phantom Thieves. Goes by Alibaba on the net, and Oracle as the Phantom Thieves’ Navigator. Now enjoying finding out the multitude of things she can do with a Vane of Order’s reality-warping powers.

Haru Okumura: A sweet young girl and recent inheritor of Okumura Foods, Haru joined the Phantom Thieves as Noir in order to change her father’s heart, but he was murdered by mental shutdown. She is scary and sadistic when fighting Shadows, and will probably become even more so soon now that she has started to undergo tutoring under Mitsuru Kirijo.

Sumire Yoshizawa: Twin sister of Kasumi Yoshizawa, who died in a car accident saving her. Sumire carries on her sister’s wish of becoming a world-class gymnast while at the same time moonlighting as the Phantom Thief Violet. Now in her third year at Shujin Academy.

Hifumi Togo: A normally quiet shogi player whose speech and mannerisms become archaic and authoritative the more she gets fired up. Committed to becoming a proper shogi player even after her mother’s match fixing was uncoverd, and now Awakened as a proper Persona-user after a harrowing encounter.

Persona 5 Confidants
Sojiro Sakura: The owner of Café Leblanc, Sojiro is the adoptive father of Futaba Sakura and was the guardian of Ren Amamiya while the latter was on probation. Formerly worked for the government. He does a good job being the Thieves’ primary adult confidant and guarding the entrance to the Thieves’ Den, but all this Shadow business is still taking years off his life.

Chihaya Mifune: A seer originally from the countryside who works in Shinjuku, and was gotten out of an exploitative organization that pushed her to scam people by one Ren Amamiya. Now that the rules of cognition apply, her sight has only gotten stronger.

Munehisa Iwai: The owner of Untouchable, a store that sells model weaponry, and a former Yakuza. His merchandise is flying off the shelves now that people need it to defend themselves against Shadows, and he himself does some bodyguard work on the side now as well.
Arcana: Hanged Man (XII)
Weapons: Commando "De Lisle" Carbine
Tae Takemi: A doctor who runs a small clinic in Yongen-Jaya. Formerly blacklisted by the medical community when her superiors forced her to rush the development of a lifesaving drug, which, per her warnings, turned out to be incomplete. Now that the patient has finally been cured, she can focus on selling her specialty medicines to anyone mad enough to be out fighting Shadows.

Sadayo Kawakami: A teacher at Shujin Academy who overworked herself trying to pay off a family blackmailing her over the death of one of her students. She’s still a great teacher, but worries about her students even more now that the Outbreak is a thing. Currently the homeroom teacher of Kenzo Okuda and Futaba Sakura.

Ichiko Ohya: An unscrupulous reporter and chronic alcoholic who hangs out around Crossroads Bar. Fully dedicated to the pursuit of the truth despite one of her best friends suffering mental shutdown and barely surviving.

Shinya Oda: An avid gamer using the alias “The King” while destroying people at Gun About in the Akihabara arcade. His special technique is in using two guns at once. He hasn’t let the Outbreak change him much.

Yuuki Mishima: The mild-mannered yet enthusiastic admin of the Phantom Afficianado Website, a former Kamoshida victim, and major Phanboy. Still finding it hard to be brave, but ever since he killed his first Greater Shadow, he’s been slowly getting better. Currently working on upgrading the Phan-Site with Alibaba’s help.

Toranosuke Yoshida: An old politician who has recently managed to return to the spotlight after learning from his mistakes as a young man. An excellent speaker who has recently discovered catharsis in blasting Shadows with a shotgun.

Sae Niijima: The strict and law-abiding older sister to Makoto Niijima, Sae quit her job as a prosecutor to become a public defender with the SIU after the Phantom Thieves’ incident opened her eyes to how far she’d fallen in pursuit of success. Capable of beating up weaker Shadows barehanded, but carries some Untouchable merchandise just in case.

Takuto Maruki: A taxi driver who used to work as a school counselor. After Yaldabaoth’s defeat and the destruction of the core of Mementos, Maruki tried to take over and create a world where everyone could be happy, not realizing that doing so would also erase free will and the ability to grow. Now reformed, he is having to start over from the bottom, both in terms of his job and his Persona powers.

Miscellaneous Persona 5 Characters
Coach Hiraguchi: A stern and highly observant young woman who acts as Sumire Yoshizawa’s trainer. While it is her job to push her trainees to their limits, it is also her job to make sure they don’t fall to pieces in the process, and she did her best to help Sumire cope with the loss of her sister.
Eiko Takao: A classmate of Makoto Niijima back in high school, she was confronted with a harsh reality when Makoto decided to investigate just how shady her Shinjuku host “boyfriend” really was behind her back. Currently working at a diner where she happened across her former classmate happily dating some hottie she didn’t immediately recognize…
Kaoru Iwai: The booksmart adoptive son of Munehisa Iwai and a second year at Shujin Academy, Kaoru is an avid fan of the Phantom Thieves and Persona-users in general. Doing his best to be a good friend to Akio Fujita.
Kuon Ichinose: A genius programmer who has trouble connecting with others. She created Sophia and the E.M.M.A. AI to help herself to understand the human heart, and now works for the Shadow Operatives after they gave Sophia a robotic body. She generally likes to put on a very bubbly personality whenever she’s meeting new people.
Lala Escargot: The tough transgender owner of the Crossroads bar. Somehow manages to keep Ohya under control when she tries to drink her problems away. No telling how well that’s going now that the Outbreak is a thing.
Miyako Kaburagi: Zenkichi Hasegawa’s boss in Public Security. Still getting used to Shadows and Personas.
Rumi Tominaga: The ex-fiancée of Takuto Maruki, after her parents were murdered in a home invasion right in front of her, she was so traumatized that she completely shut down, and Maruki erased her memories of the incident and of himself in order to erase her pain. Now that her Shadow has been defeated and her memories restored, she is now free to try and rekindle her relationship with her beloved.
Yasoinaba Investigation Team
Yu Narukami: The leader and Wild Card of the Investigation Team, who led the effort to solve the Foggy Day Murders in Yasoinaba during his second year of high school and slew the goddess Izanami to bring the case to a close. Nothing to hide, total chad, engaged to marry Rise Kujikawa, and probably the most powerful Persona-user in the world at the moment according to Shen Kurata-Yang.

Yosuke Hanamura: An extroverted young man currently managing to juggle college and working at the Junes store his father manages in Inaba. He hasn’t let being an adult change him much, but at least he’s managing to keep his horny impulses in check a little better.

Chie Satonaka: A spunky young woman with simple tastes; she likes meat, action movies, training with her teacher, and kicking Shadows in the face. There is absolutely nothing she won’t do for her Yukiko, even dive into a strange dimension on the other side of a TV and face all the darkest aspects of herself.

Yukiko Amagi: Assistant manager at the Amagi Inn and prospective girlfriend of Chie Satonaka, Yukiko initially had a hard time being tied down to the inn, and it wasn’t until she faced herself on the other side of the TV that she accepted that it would be selfish of her to run away from her inheritance. She’s been a lot happier ever since she started to branch out.

Kanji Tatsumi: The stuff he sews is so stinkin’ cute it’ll give you diabetes! This made him a target as a kid, which resulted in him developing a rough exterior and even questioning his sexuality. Ever since being rescued from the TV world and meeting people like his senpai in the Investigation Team (as well as a certain Naoto Shirogane) he has become much less insecure about his talents.

Rise Kujikawa: A girl who became an idol in her teens and fell in with the Investigation Team while on hiatus. Ryotaro Dojima: Resident police detective of Yasoinaba, father to Nanako Dojima, and uncle to Yu Narukami. Even now that he’s had Yu and his teammates properly explain Shadows and Personas to him, he still has a hard time wrapping his head around it all, but he does his best to keep his town safe regardless.

Nanako Dojima: The middle-school-age daughter of Ryotaro Dojima. She very much looks up to her cousin Yu, especially now that she knows he’s a superhero. Much like him, she is completely honest and has nothing to hide. Fitting then how she has a Persona of her own now.

Tamamizu: Formerly a fox who lived at the local shrine in Inaba, after the Outbreak, she approached Marie to become her servant, and was granted a kitsune form. She is softspoken and very loyal to those who have done her kindness in the past.

Marie: Formerly a fragment of Izanami-no-Okami, after Izanami was vanquished by Yu Narukami, Marie became whole once more as the minor land goddess Izanami-no-Mikoto. Officially, she works as a weather reporter under the name Mariko Kusumi, but it’s an open secret among most Inaba residents by this point that she decides the weather rather than just predicting it.

Mitsuru Kirijo: The CEO of the Kirijo Group, Mitsuru is a refined young woman whose presence commands respect and obedience, and if you try to cross her or her Shadow Operatives, you will be executed. She has had a Persona for nearly two decades now, and she’s not about to stop fighting now that the Outbreak is a thing.

Akihiko Sanada: A major protein junkie who went on a trip overseas in his youth to train his body to its limits. Being a Police Chief in Tokyo has tempered his hotheadedness, as well as having a disciple in Chie Satonaka, but he is far from finished with the battlefield.

Junpei Iori: A happy-go-lucky young sports enthusiast who longed to make real connections with people. Yukari Takeba: A bright and clever young actress and model who starred in Featherman Victory as Pink Argus. She has recently bonded with his sister Minako over their shared pain.

Fuuka Yamagishi: A very quiet yet intelligent young woman with a knack for programming; online, she uses the alias Lucia. Ken Amada: When he was a boy, Persona-user Shinjiro Aragaki lost control of his Persona, which went on a rampage that killed his mother. Ken swore vengeance, but was unable to carry out the deed, and when Shinjiro died saving him, it was a heavy blow. He has never forgotten everyone who died for him, and now that the Outbreak is a thing and he’s of age, he’s more than willing to pick up his spear once more.

After the trauma led to her going rogue, she was deactivated and stored away until she was stolen and reactivated by Sho Minazuki. Now she serves alongside her sister as a Shadow Operative.

Minako Arisato: The older twin sister to Minato Arisato, Minako was separated from her brother after their parents’ death due to a fight between their grandparents and their aunt and uncle. She only learned of his death months later, and now that she knows the full circumstances behind the event, she has solidified her resolve to find a way to bring him back.

Chidori Iori: A former member of Strega, Chidori feared attachment because it came with pain and loss, but after she gradually fell in love with Junpei Iori, she sacrificed her artificially-induced Persona, as well as her memories of the Dark Hour, in order to save his life. Despite her only remembering the faintest hint of him, Junpei endeavoured to rekindle their relationship regardless, and now she has given birth to his daughter.

Taro Namatame: Namatame was a pawn in the schemes of Adachi and Izanami during the Foggy Day Murders, but after he was caught and confronted by the Investigation Team, he vowed to do better. Before long, he was running the town, and doing a good job of it too.
Sho Minazuki: A boy who was experimented on by the Kirijo Group as a child and grew to hate the world as a result. After the death of Shuji Ikutsuki, Sho and his parallel personality, Minazuki, tried to summon Hi-no-Kagutsuchi to wipe out humanity. After the Investigation Team and the Shadow Operatives stopped him, he spent a long time alone, during which he began to appreciate the good in the world.

Kikuno Saikawa: Mitsuru’s personal maid, who has served her faithfully for many years. She is also a trained helicopter pilot and combatant, albeit without a Persona, and a valued member of the Shadow Operatives.
The Raptor Pack
Kenzo Okuda: A self-admitted weirdo with a habit of thinking outside the box, Kenzo was just another face in the crowd doing his best to remain invisible before a Vane of Order pierced through his hand and forcibly Awakened him to his first Persona. With the assistance of Yu Narukami and Rise Kujikawa, he faced his Shadow and Awakened again to Hephaestus, inadvertently making him an internet celebrity when the entire thing was filmed and posted online.

Shen Kurata-Yang: A recent transfer into Kenzo Okuda’s class at Shujin Academy, Shen quickly became fast friends with the young Wild Card, leading to him joining Kenzo on evening Shadow hunting expeditions and even using a Shattering Shackle made by Oracle to Awaken as a Hunter Class Persona-user. His incredible good looks make him very popular among the ladies.

Arisu Fukuda: A reserved and calculating young woman and the class representative in Kenzo Okuda’s class, Arisu joined Kenzo and Shen Yang in learning to fight Shadows for the sake of self-defense. She has slowly opened up to the two of them, and possesses a Shattering Shackle, but refuses to use it until she is ready. She is nicknamed “Storm Girl” for her icy glare, and secretly enjoys more stereotypically “girlish” things.

Ryouto Yoshino: A young man with a very strong fight-or-flight response who consistently spied on the Raptor Pack’s evening Shadow hunts. He is desperate for a means to protect himself from the Shadows but was self-admittedly too cowardly to just ask to join the Pack. He has now accepted a Shattering Shackle and an invitation to join.

The Nanjo Group
Kei Nanjo: One of the first known Persona-users, he awakened to his power during the initial activation of the DEVA system back in 1996. He is now the head of the Nanjo Group, his father’s corporation. Since the Outbreak, he has been doing his best to keep the rest of the world afloat thanks to his company’s global reach, but recently he has returned to Japan in order to establish a partnership with Mitsuru and the Kirijo Group in combatting the crisis.

Ena Nanjo: Daughter of Kei Nanjo. Focused, commanding, and loyal to her father and company.
Shu Nanjo: Son of Kei Nanjo. Curious, calculating, and clever.
The Velvet Room
Igor: The master of the Velvet Room, Igor is a creepy old man with a very long nose and a high-pitched voice. He oversees all activities within the Velvet Room with the help of his many assistants, each one personalized for the Wild Card that they are assigned to. His speech is often vague and cryptic, but he will always encourage the growth and prosperity of his charges within the Velvet Room.
Margaret: The apparent eldest of the many attendants in the Velvet Room, Margaret is assigned to Yu Narukami, and is generally very calm and serious, but she can occasionally be playful when the situation allows.
Elizabeth: Elizabeth is the former attendant of the now-deceased Minato Arisato. She is an oddball who is even more cryptic than her former master, and she rarely ever gives a straight answer. Since her charge’s sacrifice to seal Death, she has taken to wandering the real world, and yearly returns to the seal to slay Erebus to prevent him from breaking it.
Theodore: An oddball similar to his sister Elizabeth, but Theodore is much more innocent and inquisitive than Elizabeth. He is the attendant of Minako Arisato.
Lavenza: The apparent youngest of the attendants of the Velvet Room, Lavenza generally shares her sister Margaret’s calm seriousness, but can often become frustrated or impatient if her words are not heeded. She possesses a great level of pride in her charge, the trickster Ren Amamiya.
Saraiah: The attendant of Kenzo Okuda, Saraiah is bubbly, friendly, and mischievous, similar to Elizabeth.
Lucy: The attendant of Sho Minazuki, Lucy is belligerent, prickly, and cynical, and her attire is generally much less conservative than her sibling attendants.
Villains
Detective Muraoka: A corrupt Kyoto police detective who inadvertently picked up a Vane of Order that quickly drove him insane, driving him to perform such nefarious plots as kidnapping Akane Hasegawa to force her father into helping him release his conspirators from jail. He failed epically, and was thrashed by the both of them after Akane Awakened to her Persona.
Shoichi Takada: The man at the right hand of Sandā Arsenal, Takada worked with a former Kirijo scientist for the sake of corrupting Yasuo Isobe and manifesting his palace in the real world. When the Persona-users who then attacked the palace proved too strong to stop, he abandoned the Palace and is still at large. He is unshakeably calm and logical, but also entirely apathetic of the lives he ruins on his progression towards his goal.
Yasuo Isobe: Grandfather of Ayaka Tani and CEO of Sandā Arsenal, he is an old man who lived through the bombing of Nagasaki when he was young, and progressively became more and more paranoid that the world was out to take everything away from him, culminating in the Outbreak killing his daughter and Ayaka turning against him, which eventually led to the emergence of his Palace in the real world.
Sayoko Shikyo: A mysterious haggard-looking woman in a gothic dress who believes that humanity is doomed and death is peace. She has a very apathetic attitude, only showing joy in killing. She vanished after triggering Hifumi Togo’s Awakening.

Atsuko Maki: A gender-nonbinary thief with a generally amicable personality that they hide behind a trench coat. They have been lovers with Satomi Miura since before they fled Kyoto together, and Atsuko is generally the brains of the duo.

Satomi Miura: A young woman who escaped a less-than-caring home in Kyoto with her lover Atsuko, the two of them now having reached Inaba. Satomi is a little better at reading people than Atsuko, but is still a very cautious and distrustful individual.

Ayaka Tani: A flirtatious black-haired young lady and the granddaughter of Yasuo Isobe, the CEO of Sandā Arsenal. Ayaka met Sho by chance at a diner and the two quickly hit off a rather interesting friendship, with Ayaka’s constant displays of affection regularly throwing off Sho (and everyone else), all the more so since it’s not entirely clear how much of her flirting is just teasing. When angered, she is nearly unstoppable in her fury.

Toru Arima: A former resident of Okinawa, his parents were drowned and his sister left comatose during the initial Outbreak, and he fights Shadows as a mercenary under the codename Trench to afford his sister’s hospital bills. While he doesn’t get along well with Sakiko, another Persona-user in Osaka, he has a surprising level of synergy with Sho Minazuki and Ayaka Tani.

Alexandre Kuujou: An apprentice of Mitsuru Kirijo and a generally kind and lighthearted young man torn between childish lust for adventure and the seriousness of adulthood. He is currently grieving the death of his mentor Nobuyochi, who was killed by Shadows before Alexandre could return with reinforcements. He prefers to go by “Lex”.

Hikaru Fujimura: An albino young man originally from the Kyoto region, his father was killed by Shadows and he fled in terror, awakening to a Persona in his grief before walking all the way to Tokyo and being found by Minako Arisato. Despite his cynical worldview, he throws himself into fights against Shadows without a single thought of self-preservation.

Akari and Kazushi Amamiya: The barely-mentioned-in-canon parents of Ren Amamiya. Akari Amamiya was raped by an unknown man at a party and was kicked out of her house when her family discovered she was pregnant. Opting to keep the baby, she eventually found love in Kazushi Isobe, and the two eventually married, Kazushi becoming a fun and loving stepfather to the young Ren.
Akio Fujita: A reserved young man with a painful history. Currently friends with one Kaoru Iwai.
Birthday Cake: The unusually intelligent brown-backed cat of Atsuko Maki and Satomi Miura, who often goes on scouting missions for the two thieves.
Fumiko Nonaka: A member of Mita Eri’s friend group who thinks Kenzo and his friend group are really cool.
Mita Eri: The leader of a popular girl clique of first-years at Shujin Academy. She initially approached Akane Hasegawa under the suspicion that the transfer student might be related to the Phantom Thief Wolf, but when her suspicions proved to be baseless (wink wink), she became Akane’s first friend at Shujin.
Monty: A Mamushi snake who was experimented on by Sandā Arsenal before meeting Ayaka Tani and Sho Minazuki. After the results of the experiment combined with discharged energies from a Plume of Dusk and a Vane of Order gave him a high level of intelligence, he assisted in the deposing of Sandā Arsenal’s CEO and is even beginning to learn how to speak.
Tamotsu Kojima: A grumpy old man who runs a blacksmithing shop and is very passionate about his work. He reluctantly took on Kenzo Okuda as an apprentice.

Yoshito and Shizuko Okuda: Kenzo Okuda’s parents, who have recently agreed to support Kenzo’s Shadow-fighting endeavours provided they are kept in the loop about what he is doing.

Yuichi Niwa: A boy in Kenzo's class and the class pervert. Terrified of girls who are willing to kick his ass.
Ayu: A friend of Nanako Dojima, who greatly enjoys all things supernatural, especially ghost stories.
Mia: A female black cat with white markings who has taken to following Morgana around, hoping to make some kittens.
Sayori Suisen: A high school girl who lost her best friend to Shadows and was subsequently saved from said Shadows and then a crazy murderous lady by Hifumi Togo.
The Deceased
Goro Akechi: The acclaimed second coming of the Detective Prince, Akechi secretly worked as the Metaverse assassin performing psychotic breakdowns and mental shutdowns on behalf of Masayoshi Shido’s conspiracy. He was killed by Shido’s cognition of him in his Palace, but was brought back in Takuto Maruki’s ideal reality, where he worked with the Phantom Thieves to defeat Maruki even though that meant he would return to the dead.

Minato Arisato: The younger twin of Minako Arisato, Minato was the original Wild Card and field leader of the Shadow Operatives, which back then was a high school club called the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, or S.E.E.S. When the group was confronted with the summoning of a being called Nyx that would end humanity, Minato sacrificed his life to become the seal that bars Erebus, the entity representing humanity’s despair and desire for death, from reaching Nyx and bringing forth the Fall.

Shinjiro Aragaki: One of the original members of S.E.E.S., Shinjiro had undergone experiments at a young age that granted him access to a Persona, but one night he lost control of his Persona, which went on a rampage and killed the mother of Ken Amada. Shinjiro immediately resigned from the team out of guilt, but rejoined a year later after learning that Ken had obtained a Persona of his own and joined the team. He was shot and murdered by Takaya Sakaki of Strega saving Ken’s life.
